I loved this one. I fall in love with the Knightly brothers and Port Snow. The Knightly brother have trip to New Orleans which they believe have left them cursed. Reid, Brig, Rogan, Griffin, and Jen make up the Knightly siblings. Their parents are great too. I loved the dynamics of this family. This is the type of family I want. This book is Griffin's story. Griffin has had a bad past and he keeps people at a length because of the curse. Ren is new to town and makes a grand entrance by having a run in with a moose. Ren is has a rough patch an she''s starting over in a small town way away from her parents. I loved her parents. Her Mom is a helicopter mom but she's so sweet. In the story Ren talks about taco potpie and I had never heard of taco potpie. I kind of bummed that there wasn't a recipe for it included in the back of the story but I looked up a recipe and had to make it. There was nothing I didn't like about these characters or the story line. It's a perfect sweet read.

I think this is the absolute best book I’ve read by Meghan Quinn. It showed off her humore, wit, and heart without being so heavily focused on the physical aspect of their relationship. I laughed, I cried and I cheered for Griffin and Ren. Can’t wait for the next in this series!

**3.5 Stars**
Hmmmm... I'm having a hard time putting together my thoughts and figuring out a star rating for this one.

This book was cute. It was romantic and sweet. Ren and Griffin were good characters. I liked the small town aspect and I definitely would love to visit a place like Port Snow. I think I figured out my problem. Everything was "good" and "cute" and I "liked" it. I hold Meghan Quinn to a really high standard because she is one of my all time favorites and always an automatic one-click for me. This book was lacking some of the Meghan Quinn pizzazz I'm used to. I was missing the humor she always brings into her books. There wasn't any witty banter and there was only maybe one or two funny situations.

Now, this doesn't mean this wasn't a good book because it definitely was good and entertaining. I think I just expect a certain MQ recipe and I didn't get it from this one. I think if I had been expecting this formula I would have liked it a lot more. However, if you're into small town romances and really sweet, feel good stories, this is definitely for you. I read it really quickly and was engaged the whole time. Overall, as a contemporary romance, I definitely recommend this one!

ARC provided by NetGalley. When I seen this I had to try for it and was stoked to be given the chance to read this book and let me say it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! I am a HUGE Meghann Quinn fan. From the moment I started this book I couldn’t put it down. I laughed so hard way too many times in this book. I had a constant smile for almost the whole book. As all of Mrs. Quinn’s books it had it’s sad moments but overall excellent book. And a great beginning to a great series. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for these brothers.

I read this book in one day. It was so good. I've read a few of Meghan Quinn's other work and haven't been as engaged by them as I was by That Second Chance. I loved the relationships between Griffin's family and seeing all of their personalities come together. I felt for Ren's parents who didn't want to let her go but the entire book I was cheering for her while she claimed her independence. I liked these two together and although I don't usually go for the widow/widower trope this book handled it very well. I'm looking forward to more of the Getting Lucky series.

I have been eagerly waiting for That Second Chance since I read Two Wedding Crashers. I was eager to get back to Port Snow and those Knightly brothers. And what a fun return it was!

Meghan Quinn is one of the most versatile romance writers. There really isn't a style she can't write. I have adored her romantic comedies, become shattered by her deeply emotional contemporaries, and now relaxed with her classic contemporary romance. That's what That Second Chance was in my opinion, a classic contemporary romance. I would put this book in the same category as a good Lauren Layne or Jessica Lemmon romance. It was a fun read. There were some deeper emotional things going on for the characters, but I never felt a deep level of angst. I appreciated that.

Okay, back to those Knightly brothers. That Second Chance was a great introduction to them. I'm happy Meghan Quinn started with the eldest brother, Griffin. I loved Griffin. He was the eldest who was so put together and did everything for the right reasons. His story started off a little sad. Griffin had previous lost his childhood sweetheart and wife (I am the only one who wished they also got a book about this relationship? You know, kind of like Meghan did with her recent duets?). He wasn't looking for love, but it when he was least expecting it. This story was about Griffin moving on from the past and learning to love again. He was lucky to do so with Ren Winters.

Ren was sunshine in a subtle way. Like when the clouds just start to move out. She had this easy-going quality despite having been through some tough stuff herself. (Again, I wish there was a book about Ren before because I was curious about what happened prior and her parents and a lot of stuff.) I liked what she brought both Port Snow and Griffin.

Ren and Griffin's relationship was sweet. It moved slowly and quickly all at the same time. They developed this cute friendship first. Nothing can go completely smooth in a romance novel, though, so it was fun to experience them navigating all of the issues that came from their backgrounds and thoughts. It was also fun that it happened in such a small town setting. I loved how Griffin's family didn't hesitate to butt into their budding relationship. That Second Chance was a lovely small town contemporary romance.

Back to those other Knightly brothers. I liked the glimpse of each character I got. They may have looked similar, but they had distinct personalities that I'm very excited to get to know in their upcoming books. I just know Meghan Quinn has great love stories coming for us.

This book is the first one I read by this author, and have now become a fan.
The premise of the series is a curse given to the four Knightly brothers during a drunken weekend in New Orleans. When days after Griffin, the oldest, loses his young wife, they all believe that the curse set on them will keep them from ever getting their HEA.
Two years later, Ren Winters is driving into town when a car accident sends Griffin, a volunteer firefighter , to her rescue. Thus begins a sweet, but fragile relationship.
While their story was touching, it’s the family dynamics, both the Knightly’s as the Winters’, that make this story special. The author creates a quaint small town in Maine, filled with interesting inhabitants.
With an engaging plot and complex characters, this story and I foresee others in the series, will keep the readers entertain for a long time.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

THE SECOND CHANCE by Meghan Quinn is a sad, funny amazing story! I just loved the brothers and can't wait to see what's next for them! The town was filled with fascinating characters. The relationship between Griffin and Ren was sweet and filled with promise.

I received an advanced reader's copy of That Second Chance (Getting Lucky, Book 1) by Meghan Quinn from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I had never read anything by Meghan Quinn before this and had no expectations either way. Happily, I did enjoy her writing style and would gladly read other novels in the future.

I found the novel to be well written and the plot was entertaining. The dialogue between the characters (primary characters as well as secondary) was amusing, too. I found Ren, the female primary character, and Griffin, the male primary character, were both likeable, but enjoyably flawed (you could watch each of them mature throughout the novel and learn from their mistakes, if you will); and both were relateable.

All in all, That Second Chance was a very quick, and fun, read and I look forward to reading future novels in this series.

Okay so I might want to move to Port Snow, or at the least visit the town if it were real. It is a perfect setting for this series, I fell in love with it before I did the characters. I could tell that Griffin was having a hard time trying not to fall in love with Ren. That alone made this story pretty unique. I can't tell you enough how much I loved reading, That Second Chance.

I have heard many good things about Meghan Quinn's books and was so excited to finally read one. I am not sure why I waited so long but I will definitely be reading more from her. I absolutely LOVED That Second Chance. The premise is super unique - the prologue absolutely hooked me. I couldn't put the book down! I adored Griffin and Ren - they had such a fun, natural relationship and it was very realistic to me. I also loved the other Knightly brothers and how involved the Knightly family was. I really enjoyed Meghan's writing style as well. My favorite contemporary romance books are written in first person with a dual POV. I have no complaints about this book. It is definitely in my top 5 books of 2019! This was a great first book in the Getting Lucky series and I cannot wait to read Rogan, Brig, and Reid's stories!

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for this free ARC!

Griffin Knight and his brothers believe they are cursed after a trip to New Orleans. A love curse. It wasn't long after they were cursed Griffin's wife dies. Now two years later Griffin meets Ren. Ren had had her own bad experience and she's moved to Griffin's town for new start. Griffin meets her when she wrecks her car when a moose runs out in front of her on her way in to town. This is a new author for me. I checked to be sure after i finished the book because i enjoyed it so much. I loved the Knight family. The brothers and sister are awesome with each other and it feels natural. Griffin's love tragedy occurs when his wife passes away at a young age and he believes the love curse is real. Even if it isn't he feels he can't risk anyone else. Ren is irresistible though. No matter what he's drawn to her. The banter between Griffin and Ren is fun and flirty and while reading i imagined that this book would be awesome in audiobook version if it had the right narrator. You can't go wrong with this book and I am looking forward to the rest of the series as it comes out.

I adore “small town” romance reads and Meghan Quinn’s That Second Chance is the perfect example of why! Meghan did a great job with creating a storyline that touches the heart, but at the same time will have you literally lol’ing! Meghan Quinn has never let me down and I knew at just 4% into That Second Chance that I was going to love this book and I would absolutely be 1-clicking every follow-up installment in this series! This 4.5 star read will be having want to take a trip to Maine and buy some fudge! I love reading a book series that has a fantastic cast of characters and That Second Chance is the first book in the Getting Lucky series— no time like the present to jump in (I promise you won’t regret it)!

Griffin really does appreciate his sweets, “I would love to eat the other half of your whoopie pie,” I answer, eyeing the damn thing like it’s the last one on earth." Griffin has just so much willpower when his girl is involved, “Jesus,” I breathe out. “Then let’s get the h**l out of here, because if you keep saying *** like that, I’m not going to last long.” Poor Griff and Ren they're always caught in unsuspecting ways, "...she puts it on and starts to smooth out her hair as she looks down at my crotch. “You have to do something about that. My mom can’t see how big your p***s is.” I look down and try to adjust myself, but there is no hope; I’m a turned-on mothereffer..." What a great start to a new series and I can't wait to see the other unruly brothers get a book of their own.

I have voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this title given to me via NetGalley. That Second Chance is the first book in the new series Getting Lucky. This was just a great way to start off a new series. This book was just amazing. I just lost myself in this story and didn’t want it to end. It was really well written and just drew in you into these characters lives. I look forward to seeing what’s next from this author.

"I'll put everything on the line to try for her.""In just a few months, Ren has rocked me to my very core, burying herself deep within my bone marrow. And there's no doubt in my mind that when I walk away, she's going to stay there for a very long time.""I'm desperate for her. I want to hold her hand, I want to be her man. I want to take her into my arms and know that nothing is ever going to happen to her, that she's going to be mine forever."This. Book. Boy did it ever tick off all of the marks. For starters, the moment I read this synopsis and laid my eyes on the cover, I just knew I had to get my hands on this bad boy. And let me tell you, I am super glad that I did. That Second Chance is the first book in the Getting Lucky Series from Meghan Quinn. This story is everything I'm looking for in a second chance romance. You've got great characters that have been broken by their pasts. You've got an amazing family, that just pulls you in and makes you apart of their life whether you're ready for it or not. Add in some explosive chemistry and a friendship that you know in your heart of hearts is destined for more, and let me tell you, you've got all the makings for a romance that is just going to knock your socks off.Griffin and Ren won me over from their very first encounter. The sparks were there and boy were they ever off the charts. Neither one of them was looking for love. Ren was looking for a fresh start and Griffin was just going through the motions of life. But, the more time that these two spent together, the harder it was to stay away. Griffin was everything that Ren was looking for. And Ren brought light and happiness into Griffin's world. She reminded him what is was like to live his life again. Sure, Griffin wasn't perfect. Heck, there was a few times, I wanted to reach into my kindle and knock some sense into him. But, I got it. I really did. I understood why he was so afraid and why he let fear run his life. I could only hope that he would figure things out before he lost the one thing that made his life brighter....That Second Chance is a sweet and sexy second chance romance that is sure to leave you with all the feels. Ren and Griffin's story is heartwarming and is filled with so many swoon-worthy moments. The characters are so likable and easy to connect with. They suck you into their story and leave you just dying for more. I loved the ups and downs, the embarrassing moments and the ones that made you swoon. The moments that tugged at my heart and left me hoping for a happily ever after....And while Ren & Griffin's story does wrap up in That Second Chance, the ending perfectly sets things up for the next book in the series and will leave you seriously salivating for more!I hope you'll pick up That Second Chance and fall in love with Ren & Griffin just as I have.

The Second Chance by Meghan Quinn was full of all the feels, with an amazing family dynamic. This author did an amazing job with the whole small town romance trope, it felt like I was reading something out of Pleasantville. She also did a great job showcasing what the little town was all about, down to what it looked like. I don't know if this is a real place, but with the descriptions that was made, I wouldn't be surprised if it was. She is a very talented author, and I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style. She made it fun, and flirty with the perfect amount of depth, that was enough to get you all up in your feels. I also enjoyed the dual pov, it makes it so much easier for myself to truly understand the thought process of each character.

While I honestly did enjoy this story, a couple of things did irk me, and that is why there is a 4 STAR review, perhaps it could just be my preferences that is the issue lol. I truly did love the characters, but one was a little bit more complex to me. I don't really feel like the character development went as far as it could have. Another issue I had, was the way one characters showcased his/her feelings, it felt immature to me, because this person knew it was bound to happen, and yet acted a bit irrationally to me.

Griffin is the oldest brother. He is the mature one that keeps his younger siblings out of trouble. He hopes to one day take over the family business, but in the meantime enjoys being a volunteer firefighter and helping out his town with miscellaneous things.

Ren is originally from Los Angeles, and sets out on a journey to make life her B****. She has an unhealthy obsession with math, and enjoys teaching the little ones the magical elements of it. She is quirky and awkward, but also has a bubbly personality.

All it took was one rowdy night to change the course of these siblings life including Griffin's. When a second chance slaps him in the face, is he brave enough to accept it at face value, or is the risk to BIG?
