Need a new book boyfriend? Look no further. Griffin with steal your heart. Oh, and you can start your girl crushing on Ren already. This author has a way with her characters. Even the arses are lovable. (Don't worry, there are none of them in this book.) So many good (kind) characters in this little town. This book is somewhat unique in the fact that there aren't any 'mean girl' characters. No evil villains trying to tear the couple apart. It's quite the opposite. Everyone is pushing them together... but that doesn't mean it was an easy road for them. Griffin has pushed himself away from ever falling in love. Ren is starting fresh and almost instantly is drawn to him, but he is keeping himself a safe distance away. The meetcute in this book was pretty entertaining. There are many sweet and romantic gestures. (Even while he has his walls up.) There are lots of humorous moments, many between the couple themselves, but also including Griffin and his siblings (whom future books in the series will be about. Yay! More of those boys!) Overall, the book is a feelgood kind of book. There is some sexual content, but it is limited and not overly graphic. It's well written with all the feels. The story and book flows smoothly and is hard to put down. It alternates between POVs.

*I received an ARC from Netgalley.

Meghan Quinn never disappoints. She always gives me the perfect mixture of romance, comedy and heart ache.

This cover is perfect!!!!!! Let me just start with that.

This book was enjoyable to read. The writing was great and the characters were amazing.

You could picture yourself on those cobblestone paths walking along the ocean for sure. I want to take a trip now to Maine.

It’s totally selfish but I just wanted more. Talk about slow burn. This book is 100% slow burn to getting to the good stuff.

I absolutely adore this family. I’m so happy the brothers are getting their own stories. I can’t wait to see what happens with them.

Ren and Griffin’s relationship was perfect. Friends to lovers. I could have kept reading their story.

There’s multiple times I laughed out loud at something that was going on. Gotta love a pushy family.

That Second Chance
Griffin is a heartbreaker. Thanks to a wild trip to New Orleans for his youngest brother’s 21st birthday, the brothers anger a palm reader. She then places a curse on all 4 brothers. They laughed off the crazy old lady and continue on with their trip. Shortly after returning home tragedy strikes and Griffin looses his wife very unexpectedly. Eventually, they begin to think about the curse and they believe the curse is coming to get them and they swear off love.
Ren has faced a huge uphill battle surviving a horrible car accident where she was a miracle survivor. She decides this is the best time to get out from under her helicopter Mom and moves across the country to Port Snow, Maine to teach Algebra. After just making it to town she is ran off the road by a suicidal moose. She is saved from her wreckage by none other than the volunteer firefighter Griffin. Sparks definitely fly from their very first encounter. Hopefully the hot new Algebra teacher can melt this firefighter's heart. But she will have a hard time going up against the Knightly Brother Curse.
Meghan Quinn writes about a small town that I think everyone would want to be a part of. The whole town and all of the residents have so much personality that you grow to love them! The Knightly Family is one of a kind with their playful jabs and witty banter you will long to be a member too. Griffin stole my heart but with each Knightly Brother book I'm hoping they will fight to own a piece too. Can't wait to read the rest of this series.

I love it when I stumble upon a new to me author and a great book that makes me smile and touches my heart. That's exactly the case with Meghan Quinn and her book That Second Chance. Now I'm anxiously waiting to read more from her. I really enjoyed this fun filled book that gives us Ren and Griffin's story. Ren was exactly the kind of woman needed to get Griffin living and loving again. Their story is full of humor with curses, a moose, and lots of witty banter. Definitely a recommended read.

Meghan Quinn has nailed this small town romantic comedy. The characters are endearing, the banter is quick and witty and the characters will make you fall in love

Hello small town romance! When Meghan shared that we were getting a new series I was ecstatic! Her signature humor, dashed with romance, a second chance at love, produced a winning combination with That Second Chance. The characters made the book! I’m excited for the other stories and can’t wait to revisit everyone in each book. Who knew a curse would be so entertaining?

Special thanks for Meghan Quinn, Candi Kane PR, Montlake Romance and Netgalley for an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review.

That Second Chance is an adorable, small town romance with comedy, heart-melting moments and hot, steamy scenes.  Both Griffin and Ren for totally different reasons are searching for a second chance at life.  They first meet thanks to a suicidal moose and slowly burn into something so much more.

Griffin, ever the stubborn male, has a really big romantic heart in him.  He wears his heart on his sleeve which is totally refreshing for a reader who devours novels with broody men (I love broody men).  One of his romantic gestures includes dancing with Ren in the middle of the street (my heart just melted a little).  However....Griffin is an idiot and I write that with a sincere heart.  Since no one else in his life seems to have an issue saying that to him, why can't I?  I can and I will.  The curse that holds Griffin back...the curse that makes Griffin an idiot is just a tad bit eccentric for my taste.  But then again?  Isn't that the point?

There are several laugh out loud moments in this story.  Griffin's meddling family is quite enjoyable.  They truly have the best of intentions and their behavior is out of pure love.  I laughed out loud at their antics.  The cock-blocking scene was the absolute best.  BUT it is the town gossips with their embellishing stories and gossip headlines that take the cake. They are my favorite.  I would hate to be a member of that town.  😂

Meghan Quinn, you are a romantic comedy rock-star.

Recommendation:  I liked it - That Second Chance is for romance readers looking for a light, funny romantic comedy.  It would be a perfect beach read.  And honestly, I'm looking forward to Rogan's story.

OH MY HEAVENS! I freaking ADORED this book! In typical Meghan Quinn fashion, this book had heart and ALL THE FEELS! I was completely captured by Griffin and all the Knightly boys. They had a very unique encounter in New Orleans that shaped Griffin's life. He was solely focused on taking over the family business and not women. But when Ren literally crashes into his life, she brings out life in him. I loved watching their friendship flourish and I wanted him to move past the things that affected him. She was good for him and he for her. She was fiesty and fun and didn't let the traumatic events of her life stop her from living. I didn't want to put the book down. I thought this was a fantastic start to this series and I can't wait for more! Do yourself a favor and grab your copy now!

Meghan never fails to write the kind of romance that has you smiling like a goof. This story was no exception. I have anticipated the Knightly brothers stories ever since we met Griffin in Three Blind Dates. I knew I would fall in love with these supposedly cursed men, and I have! This book just has that feel good vibe with a little angst and heat thrown in to make it the perfect romance read. I can’t wait to read the rest of the brothers stories!

“Were you being romantic?” I look over my shoulder.
“I was being romantic as shit.”

Ren Winters didn’t know that the day a moose stepped in front of her car, it would put her in the path of Griffin Knightly, a guarded man, who had suffered a life-changing tragedy, and just how he would change her life. We didn’t know how much we would fall in love with Port Snow, the Knightly’s, Ren and all the characters in this charmingly engaging and swoony story!

We adore Meghan Quinn’s stories and her loveable and relatable characters. After reading That Second Chance, we’re now desperately looking forward to hearing about the other Knightly brothers love stories in her new Getting Lucky Series.

‘It might have been easier to never have known Griffin the way I do now; each time he pushes me away, my heart splinters.’

Meghan Quinn delivered that small-town community feels to perfection. So much so, we want to pack a bag and head off to Port Snow to experience the hospitality of this quirky small town which was like another character in this sweet story. Meghan Quinn captured it beautifully. We could smell the sea air, taste the pastries and fudge in the Lobster Landing. Our mouths were watering!

The prologue takes us two years previously, when, on a boozy night out in New Orleans to celebrate their younger brother, Brig’s twenty-first birthday they upset a palm reader, who places a curse on the Knightly boys, affecting their love life.

‘All I’m asking for is one moment, this one instance, when I can forget about the past, forget about the curse, and live the life I wish I could have.’

For Griffin, the curse goes from a laugh to seriousness, when tragedy strikes and Griffin, as a result, he becomes very closed off promising never to give his heart again. Never allowing himself to feel.

Griffin was a beautiful man. Dependable, giving and so proud of his town, and his contribution to the upkeep of the pretty little Port Snow. The Knightly clan, Mum, Dad, Rogan, Reid, Brig, Jen and Griffin are born and bred whereas Ren Winters is escaping her overprotective mother, and starting a new life as the Algebra teacher in the town. That Second Chance could refer to both Griffin and Ren.

Sparks fly between the quirky, straight shooting, sweet Ren and Griffin, and for every step forward he takes, the curse remains steadfastly in the back of his mind, making him afraid to take that leap, but Ren is having none of it.

‘She’s fun. She’s beautiful. She’s everything I would look for in a woman. And everything I should stay away from.’

There was so much to love about this slow burn and endearing love story. From the meddling supportive Knightly family, the picturesque town brought so perfectly to life, the amusing town gossip, and not to mention the little connection to Two Wedding Crashers! We squealed when we read that!!

“Griffin, I hate seeing you so alone, it hurts my heart.”
Taking a deep breath, I plaster on a fake smile. “I’m not alone, I have you fools.”

An adorable setting, likable characters, charming, witty, sweet and emotional storytelling. Another winner from Meghan Quinn! Bring on the next book…Oh boy, we’re looking forward to his story!

The Knightly brothers are going to rock your world! There are four brothers, their sister Jen is already married, and all are single. A night of debauchery to celebrate a birthday had a lasting effect on the boys. Griffin becomes Ren's knight in firemen armour and they are immediately connected at the hip. Ren is new in town but instantly makes friends with the boys and most of the town. The characters are sweet, kind hearted, and lovable. The town is picturesque and perfect with quaint stores and a beautification committee. Quinn has created magic with these two and I'm very excited to see how the rest fall. My copy was given through Netgalley.

Simply amazing!! There are no ends to the talents of Meghan Quinn and her words.

A perfect, small-town romance with heart, soul and a little magic!!

Maine has never been so appealing - I want to dance in the street, eat fudge looking out over the water, and even get up at 5am to help make the place look great for tourists. How I wish Port Snow was real.

In short, I want to live there. Save a Knightly brother for me, Meghan!!

Also LOVED "seeing" Beck and Rylee again <3

Can I move to Port Snow? I want to live there! I want to see Griffin and all his hot brothers and be friends with Ren and Rylee!

There is so much that I loved about this book! Starting with widower Griffin and the fact that he believes he’s cursed to never love. My heart broke for him! He’s so distraught over his wife’s death, and sure that it’s his fault and he doesn’t deserve to be happy.

Then one day, Ren crashes into a tree — literally — and turns his life upside down. For the first time in two years,,Griffin feels like he can breathe again, and it’s all thanks to the spunky newcomer who knows nothing of the curse on the brothers. But will Griffin allow himself to love and be loved again?

From the meet-cute to the zany interactions with Griffin’s family, this book was adorable. The dancing in the street was one of the most romantic scenes I think I’ve ever read by Meghan Quinn, and I’ve read a lot by her. And the pond hookup? Good lord! I was unfortunate enough to be reading that exceptionally sexy part during my lunch break at work and had to come back to it to savor the moment later!

That Second Chance is a great start to a new series by one of my one-click authors. I can’t wait to see what Meghan has in store for the rest of the brothers!! And I loved getting a little catch-up with Beck and Rylee from Two Wedding Crashers!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Such a cute story! I loved Ren and Griffin and the little town of Port Snow. This story starts out with the most unlikely meet cute and from there Ren and Griffin form a beautiful friendship. That was my favorite part about their story. They truly got to know each other and become best friends before even a kiss happens between them. That made for such a sweet slow burn and the pay off was perfect. I also loved Griffin’s family and the small town that was a character on its own. The next brother’s book was perfectly set up and I’m really looking forward to it.

The last few books I have read have been thrillers. This book is just what I needed. This one had me laughing from the get-go, and this fun, light-hearted tone was consistent throughout the entire story. The dialogue was always quick-witted and well-written. I especially loved the Knightly family dynamics. The romance was perfect. A slow build up that while predictable, was so fetching good, you just didn't care. I also loved the small-town setting. I can't wait to read Rogan's story.

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for a copy of Meghan Quinn's "That Second Chance" in exchange of an honest review.

This is not my first read by the author & I have to say that I dramatically almost cried when NetGallery did not approve my request, BUT JENNY in for the request. It was a moment when it downloaded on my kindle! Alright all that aside, I was excited to read this! If I would have known how flipping awesome and amazing this book was, I would have kicked and screamed earlier! I can't express enough at how much I enjoyed this read!!

The beginning stars of FUN, laughter, joy and celebration. After all the brothers are in New Orleans, celebrating the last brother to turn 21. All fun and games until you land in the hands of a palm reader (no pun intended). After that, all you can do it try and move on from everything. So beware of your heart at the beginning.

Now we get to my favorite part of the book, I kid you not. Ren is the ULTIMATE HEROINE! This part involves a suicidal Moose, one sexy volunteer firefighter (Griffin), a jack-in-the-box heroine & the hero who carries her (almost throwing his back out) and saving the day by getting her a shirt, which she accept in the best hysteria possible. You will seriously love this scene!!

When Ren finally gets down to going to her new place, new town, new START, she get's wit of the Knightly curse. Who believes in those anyways!
Then this: Should I thank him for his services? Ask him out? See if he wants to be my Tarzanlike nurse?
Reading this is like living it, that's how much the words flow and you feel like you're in the story! What I love most about Ren is that she is grabbing life by the horns. The needs and excitement of starting over, it's catchy! She is also the new Algebra teacher! And when Ren finds herself seeing a Griffin look-alike but with different hair all around the town especially places like IN HER LIFE. She is thrown back!

Griffin is the oldest brother who works full time at the Landing a place his family own & volunteers as a firefighter. I am going to give you a sec here...............aaaand we are back. Okay so, not only is he sweet by working with his family, taking care of his brothers and everyone around him, but he also actually saves lives too. What makes my heart hurt for him is that, in spite of all, he carried the biggest burden on his shoulders. The pain unimaginable *sigh*

"Cupid hit my little brother with a giant moose. Oh, this is so wonderful."

Back to new beginning and living. Ren jumps right in, I mean it isn't that big and so she doesn't have a big pond to swim in, but something about Griffin pulls at her heart strings. She just has to learn to not say something stupid every time they converse. There has to be a reason he is always so busy, so many things to do...sadly if she only knew that those things is what helps him not remember or go home to an empty lonely and silent home. *my heart* but these two are so sweet and cute together, the chemistry is off the charts...gah I loved all the side characters too but my favorite had to be the hero and heroine! The story line is SO GOOD GUYS! Every chapter, words just flow!! You'll see when you read it. I look forward to more in the series!! After-all there is 4 brothers and a sister!! (I might be looking forward to Rogan's story...yes/no? p.s. beware SLOW BURN pain, good kind, but I was on my toes glaring at the screen...do it...do it...! Again, the good kind!!

Sorry this ran a little long but I immensely enjoyed this story & will be getting a paperback so I can re-read!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! TOP 2019 M U S T - R E A D !

Another Meghan Quinn book that managed to make my stoic reading self giggle! Seriously so few books actually make me laugh while I am reading and Meghan Quinn somehow managed to do it repeatedly! I love her writing style and definitely recommend checking out this book if you want a good romcom that is perfectly adorable! I cannot wait to find out more about the Knightly boys!

I love Meghan Quinn's books so much, and this one totally lives up to the hype! I haven't read everything she's written yet, but I'm working on it. The last few books of hers keep getting better and better. This one was such a page turner, I hated having to stop, (you know, to sleep and work). She has a way of introducing all these characters in a way that's not overwhelming, plus tie in those from another book. Its a nice little bonus for those who read Two Wedding Crashers. She also writes fantastic sexy time scenes. Not overly graphic, but enough to get the feelings behind it out there, it's more emotional than a lot of authors who write sex scenes if that makes sense. This is a totally different second chance story than what I've read before. I love when it's not a cookie cutter, there's something different to stand out from the crowd and this one does it in so many ways. The humor in this story was addicting, I was smiling through most of this book, yet she still managed to pull a few tears from me towards the end. I could go on and on, but I don't want to spoil anything, just read it for yourself, you won't be sorry. I totally fell in love with Griffin, and all of the Knightly brothers for that matter. I didn't want this book to end, and I can't wait to devour the rest of the series.
