I loved this book! So much so that I gave up on sleep and read into the early morning hours, with zero care being given to my beauty sleep. This book was so funny and had me giggling and swooning with the corniness that is the Knightly brothers.

Just like every Meghan Quinn book, this one was well written and the characters came alive on the pages. It was a little slow for me at the very beginning but as soon as Ren came into the picture, I was hooked.

Ren is new to town and her welcome to the town didn’t go as planned. With the help of a suicidal moose, she meets one of the towns firefighters and all around good guy that seemed absolutely perfect except for one thing… that curse that was put upon him and his brothers a few years ago. The townspeople had me rolling; I grew up in a small town and yes, people are exactly like that! The rumor mill was in full force and had me laughing at the crazy stories they came up with.

This is book one in a new series, a second chance at love story and I can’t wait for more of the Knightly brothers! Well done on another great read, Meghan Quinn! Go one-click this one if you are looking for a fun, easy read that will leave you with a smile on your face.

So much YES to That Second Chance! I haven’t read many books by Meghan Quinn, but I know sooo many that absolutely love her work. I was pretty eager to get my hands on this one since I’m such a fan of Montlake Romances. And this one completely exceeded all of my expectations out of the park.

I’ve been gravitating towards small town romances this year and the many that I’ve read have captivated my heart completely. Griffin and Ren absolutely stole mine, instantly.

Griffin .. my poor heart! Just the immense guilt he has dealt with after the sudden death of his wife. And he was constantly using the curse as a clutch to never truly be happy again. And then Ren comes crashing into his life and everything between them was just instant.

I loved everything about these two. It was a bit of a slow burn and it all just felt exactly right for their relationship. With Griffin being a bit of a knight in shining armor and this easy and laid back friendship forms between the both of them.

Ren was a heroine that I simply adored with going through an ordeal where she wanted a new start following that. She was so brave to move away from everything that was familiar. But she adapted to her new life effortlessly! She had her moments, but overall, I loved her character.

To me, this story had just the right amount of everything that I look for in a cozy contemporary romance. I loved the family dynamics with the Knightly brothers and am so looking forward to some of their stories.

I can’t recommend this book enough, it was such a great start to Meghan’s new series!

This is why I love Meghan Quinn’s books. She weaves these stories where you never know who you will run into. And it’s such a nice surprise when you do! I cannot wait to see where this series takes us. Port Snow might be my fave place yet!

Griffin, he was beyond swoony. Even his apprehensions made him more lovable. It was amazing to see him open his heart back up.

Ren, I love her. She’s funny, quirky and although she has her own set backs and walls up, she adapts. You can’t help but root for her the entire time.

Small town story with a huge heart!

I love a good small town romance. Griffin and Ren love them hard. I'm a big fan of Meghan Quinn. This one did not disappoint.
Thanks Netgalley/Montlake for the Arc

What a fun, feel-good, small-town romance! It was delightful to read and left me with a happy sigh as I closed the last page. I didn't think the whole, "cursed" thread was even necessary, though. In fact it was the only thing that annoyed me and threw me out of the plot. Griffin could have had the same misgivings without the silly curse excuse. Everything else, however, was pure escapist fun!

That Second Chance is the perfect story to kick off Meghan Quinn's newest series getting Lucky. I absolutely adored this small town romance. It's filled with fabulously quirky characters, scenic locations and lots of laughter. This slow-burn story will suck you right in and you'll fall in love with everything about it!

Griffin and Ren have a hilarious meet-cute that pretty much sums up their relationship. No matter how hard Griffin tries to stay away from Ren, he can't. These two gravitate towards one another and it's impossible for them to fight. There is so much chemistry from the start and Quinn does a great job of building up the anticipation. I loved all of the Knightly brothers and cannot wait for their stories as well. Their relationships with one another are hilarious and natural. There was so much goodness in this story and I just loved everything about it. I can't wait to read the next one! 5 stars

That Second Chance.....whoaaaa this book is EVERYTHING I dream of in a small town romance! IT'S MAGIC!! I'm enamored by Port Snow, more so that when we were first introduced to this charming town in Two Wedding Crashers. Even then, I knew we were in for a special treat should Meghan Quinn ever take us back. Not only has she taken us back, but she's given us the GIFT of the Knightly brothers. Thank goodness for the volunteer firefighters because these brothers got me all kinds of HAWTTTT! Port Snow has so much readers, it's almost sensory overload. From the cute shops, the endearing townfolk, to the town gossip, it's a town that truly cares for each other. This small town romance is REMARKABLE!

Let's dive in with Ren and Griffin. OMG from their meet cute, they are fantastic together. I mean, not just fantastic...but sizzling. There's something that tingles in the air when they're together. I feel it in every conversation, their witty banter is always on point. They have chemistry is spade, they can't stay away. Scene after scene, they're like fudge...so sweet, melt in your mouth cuteness and YOU CAN'T GET ENOUGH. One page is never enough. Piece by piece, Meghan has layered this story that creeps into you heart. It's not a simple boy meets girl love story, their story is built with bricks, that only when the time is right, will come crumbling down. The journey for me was amazing. Ren and Griffin are fantastic characters that each have their own journeys of growth to be together completely. I LOVED EVERY PAGE.

I truly devoured this story, and it captured a piece of my heart in return. I loved the Knightly brothers whole heartedly. But Ren and Griffin....they are just the best! Don't miss out on this fantastic small town second chance romance that will have you falling in love with Meghan Quinn and Port Snow.

This was my first Meghan Quinn book. I know, I know. I’ve been living under a rock. This book had a very sweet romance, a wonderful family aspect, and kept me wanting more.

Let me first just say that I loved the world that Quinn created here. Everything seemed so cute and quaint that I really need this town to be real. She took her time in describing this New England atmosphere that I would love to experience firsthand.

Hands down my favorite part of this book was the family aspect. The Knightly family was so awesome to read about. These brothers and sister made the book with their humor and genuine love for one another. Their teasing of Griffin made me smile so many times that I lost count.

The relationship between Griffin and Ren was so cute and sweet. Although I was going to throw kindle out the window with how long it finally took for me to get some action. But when we did goodness, was it worth it!
These two had me rooting for them ever since their first meeting. I can see why Griffin fell for Ren. She was cute and came off with such a good nature. She livened him and made him want to try love again. Reading about them falling in love was such a good way to spend an afternoon.

Now, I couldn’t give it five stars because I did have some minor issues with it. This features trope that I don’t really like to read about which is a dead spouse. For some reason, I just don’t like that in romance. It always seems like there is so much focus on moving on and flashbacks of the previous spouse and that’s what happened here. It could have been more focused on Griffin and Ren instead. But don’t mind me, that’s just a personal reason why I couldn’t rate it higher.

My other issues were how reliant Griffin was on this curse and also his predictable nature. It almost seemed as if he used the curse as a crutch to not get involved with Ren. It plays a part in his predictability as well. He pulled Ren in just to get to close and press the brakes on it over and over. I hated the back and forth in Griffin.

Overall, yes I had problems with it but it made for a good book in a new series. I know that I will want to get my hands on a story about every brother in this family. It gave you steam and some heartfelt moments and I recommend this to those who like small town romances.

In the book Two Wedding Crashers, we were given a glimpse of Port Snow and by the end of that book I knew I wanted more, especially about the family of brothers who were cursed to never find love. So when Meghan announced that she was going to write a book about those brothers, I got really excited.

Griffin, the eldest of the Knightly boys, truly believes that he will never find love. But then he meets Ren Winters, the school's new Algebra teacher. The two meet in a very humorous way and a friendship is formed. Ren is starting over in a small town and could use a friend. Luckily for her, that friend is Griffin Knightly.

Ren and Griffin truly enjoyed just hanging out with each other, but their attraction was just too strong. I loved that their relationship started out as purely a friendship. His reluctance to start anything romantic causes frustration for her, but once she finds out why, she starts to understand him a little better.

This book is sweet, funny and such a delight to read. Griffin is perfect book boyfriend material and I LOVED HIM TO PIECES! And don't even get me started on the rest of the Knightly brothers. I love them all and I can't wait to read their stories!

This book was a look into independence and self-sabotage.

That Second Chance by Meghan Quinn was interesting and the chemistry was off the charts. The main characters, Griffin and Ren were practically made for each other. I loved how they constantly talked and play fought and the manner in which their lives slowly became better because of the other person's being in it.

That being said, I felt like Ren was a little timid. Despite being the go-getter and take charge woman that we love as a main character, she seemed a little too willing to acquiesce to Griffin's feelings. Not all the time, of course! Nor was she guilty doing it on her own, he did it quite a lot too, I just think they were too worried about tiptoeing around bigger issues.

Such as: Griffin's former wife.

Griffin avoided all mention of her and as such, avoided mentioning her to Ren. Ren found out via gossip.

The worst way to find out.

Because of that, Ren was extremely careful to not overstep her bounds in that regard. Which was perfect. She acted perfectly. But I felt that everyone's reactions were just a little bit off. I'm not entirely sure what it was but I couldn't get behind everyone's reactions. Griffin held a lot of things back from Ren until it was too late for him to tell her himself. And I definitely couldn't get behind that.

There were plenty of ways and sections in which he could have told her about the "curse" and his wife and anything else they could have divulged.

And that's the other thing, I think that Ren forgave him way too quickly for what he did. I think he should have worked a little harder at it.

But that's just me.
Have you guys read it yet?
What did you think?

I devour everything Meghan Quinn writes, so I did a little happy dance when I got my hands on an early copy of That Second Chance, which is the first book in her new Getting Lucky series. Griffin Knightly and his three brothers are convinced that they were legitimately cursed while on a trip to New Orleans and are now doomed to fail at relationships, and he believes he’s already experienced the devastating effects of the curse. He’s built hefty walls around his heart and sworn off of love, but he feels his defenses start to crumble from the moment he meets Ren. She’s their small town’s newest resident, and she’s instantly drawn to Griffin but finds herself firmly placed in the friend-zone. But with the subtle and humorous help of his siblings, she begins to unravel Griffin’s tightly-wound control and excavate his wounded heart. That Second Chance is brimming with laugh-out-loud humor, steamy love scenes and swoony, heartfelt romance, and I can’t wait for more of the Knightly brothers and the next installment in this series.

That Second Chance, is the first book in Meghan Quinn’s new series, Getting Lucky, set in the small town of Port Snow, Maine. I am so in love with this story! I wanted to savor this story for as long as I could but at the same time, I read so fast because I couldn’t get enough of this beautiful world. The prologue had my heart completely broken but I knew better than to worry. I knew that by the time I was finished with the book, it would be put back together as the character’s heart was mended.

Ren Winters and Griffin Knightly’s meet-cute may be my favorite of all time! I don’t want to spoil it for you but let me just say Ren literally crashes into Griffin’s life. Both of them are extremely relatable characters and it took me no time at all to fall in love with them and cheer them on in hopes of them finding their happily ever after.

The setting for this book is absolute perfection. I have never been to Maine but I have obsessed over pictures of the beautiful scenery for years. While reading I felt as if I were there in person with the characters in their charming small town. I could almost smell the ocean mixed with fudge while I stood in line at Lobster Landing, the Knightly’s shop downtown.

I’m so glad we get an entire series for the Knightly family. I quickly fell in love with the entire family in this first book and I can’t wait to watch the rest of the family get their happily ever afters. Don’t miss out on this emotional and heartwarming romance!

Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.

That Second Chance is the first book in the Getting Lucky Series. Ren Winters has taken a new job. She will be the algebra teacher in Port Snow. Griffin works full time in the family business, Lobster Landing and he works as a part time volunteer fire fighter and first responder.

I love Griffin’s whole family. Oh Lordy, lordy there are 3 more Griffin’s. His younger brothers are Rogan (Realtor and landlord) Reid (also works part time at Lobster Landing) and Brig the youngest brother (mechanic and owner of the garage).

The Knightly boys all went partying on Brig’s 21st birthday and what they brought home was a love curse on all of them. Now they are the most untouchable bachelors in Port Snow, Maine.

Port Snow is a small tourist town and everyone and I mean everyone knows the others business. Gossip runs amok in Port Snow. I love these gossiping town folk. How one story gets so blown out of proportion. Griffin rescues Ren when a moose ran her car off the road. There are some LOL moments with all the gossip going around about how Griffin met Ren. I found myself chuckling out loud and then having to look around to see if anyone saw me.

You know the story with friends like that who needs enemies. Well who needs friends when one has brothers. It seems like all the Knightly boys keep pushing Ren on Griffin and all he can think about is the curse and not dating. Even though he doesn’t want anyone else to get Ren either.

I can’t wait for the next book in this new series! I am hoping that it will be Rogan’s turn to fall in love!

If you haven’t discovered Meghan Quinn yet you need to. She writes with humor, love & romance. I think her books are all MUST READS!

I love Meghan Quinn's writing and I have loved the other books by her that I have read but this one I found it is my least favourite.

I wasn't a big fan of Griffen. He was a little bit too grumpy for my taste and the story was a little slow that I ended up skipping pages because I was getting a little bored. Maybe you will like it but it just wasn't one that I loved.

I remember the days before reading Meghan Quinn... jumping around from author to author, foot loose and fancy-free. I had no single author that made me feel like they were the end all for me. However, Meghan Quinn has made it all possible for me to stalk and pine after every word she writes. I feel like she could make me give up my wondering eyes and stick to only her stories. I would totally do this... if I didn't read and/or listen to nearly 500 books a year... so I'll either have to suck it up and read various authors or she's really going to have to up her game!! What do ya think Quinn? Ya got 500 books a year in ya? I've got the dedication if you do!

Anywho, y'all get it... I dig her. Mrs. Quinn is a word-master! I cannot get enough of her words and her characters. I'm seriously obsessed with the way she develops her story. In The Second Chance, we have the Knightly brothers living in a picturesque small town life in Maine. Griffin is fabulous!! He's charming and sweet... and totally smitten with Ren but he's adorably fighting it every single step of the way! Ren is super upbeat and fun. She's light, to Griffen's deep. They're a good match and I love the curse that has Griffen walking a tight and shaky line.

That Second Chance isn't Meghan Quinn's usual laugh out loud and rolling around the floor crying funny. That Second Chance is bit lighter, a bit more upbeat and fun, definitely her signature sweet, packed with some mega heat. That Second Chance is a bit more well-rounded, but adorably sweet. I just can't get enough of her words! I'll be counting down the days until Meghan Quinn lands on my kindle once again!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

I am a fan of Meghan Quinn, but what I absolutely loved was the dedication to her parents in this book.
When Ren Winters, arrives in Port Snow, Maine... she really makes an entrance! Leaving a life behind in LA, Ren , is determined to start a new chapter across the country. She is an only child and her parents are over baring , to put it mildly. Knowing that she needs to establish boundaries, she accepts a job in the small town as the new Algebra teacher.
Being a hero was not exactly how he would describe himself but Griffin Knightly, is a hero in the small town he has lived his entire life. Taking over the family business, a volunteer fireman, heading up committees to help the town stay thriving, he is one of the good guys. Tragedy struck Griffin, early in his adult life and he has all but given up on feeling anything for anyone, ever again. Little did he expect Ren, to come crashing into his life.
This is such a heartwarming story. I am not usually a person that likes, super sweet books and this one is NOT, so much that it is annoying. Actually, it is perfect. I loved this book so much! The banter, the descriptions of the town, the people... I felt like I was there. This book is vivid and evokes all of the senses. You can taste the fudge and lobster. You can smell the ocean. You can hear the waves crashing. You can see the town and the people who make up this wonderful place. And you can feel the love growing between Ren and Griffin.
This is a small town and of course you have tons of gossip, especially when it involves a lifer and the new resident. Then stories the town would weave were HILARIOUS! I laughed a lot reading the gossip people were spreading.
The Knightly boys, made their presence known throughout the whole book, which was fantastic. I really felt like I got to know each one a little before their stories are written. The Knightly boys are considered untouchable in Port Snow. Not because they are NOT lovable, but because of a rumor started and believed for years. Griffin, is afraid to love again and Ren is ready to love! Will her love be enough to break the curse that Griffin, believes is always surrounding him?
The twists and turns are wonderful and I enjoyed this book very much. I am so here for the rest of this series!

Nobody writes a slow burn like Meghan Quinn and this book is a perfect example.

I have yet to read a story from MQ that I didn't like, but I think this one might end up being one of my favorites. I love this family, I love this down, I love everything about this new series!

Griffin Knightly….could I adore this man any more than I already do?!? He's instantly likable, as are all his brothers. He's sexy, charming, and is an extremely approachable, genuinely good guy. He's sweet and funny, caring and helpful, and doesn't let downtime become his enemy. He's involved with everything, just the way he likes it - the way he needs it - to keep the broken pieces of his past from coming back to haunt him.

I absolutely have a girl crush on Ren. She's amazing. She's resilient, gutsy, and determined. She's also funny, sweet, and a little bit (or maybe a lot) awkward. She has the best personality and fits right into the little town of Port Snow like she's been there all her life. She always looks at the bright side of things and has the patience of a saint. You can't help but love her.

This book has all the four Hs, as MQ books tend to do - humor, heat, heartbreaking moments, and heart-swooning redemptions. I've fallen in love with all four Knightly brothers and I can't wait to watch each one get their happily ever after. I can't say enough good things about this book. It's a definite must read!

I love when the hero and heroine of a story meet for the first time in a unique way, not only is it different from a romance’s usual character introductions, but it also leaves a lasting impression on the main characters since not many people can say that their first encounter with their love interest was in such interesting circumstances. And when readers witness the situation that brings Ren Winters and Griffin Knightly into each other’s lives, it will definitely be used as a conversation starter for some time to come.

What’s also unique about Meghan Quinn’s new Getting Lucky series is the reason behind the Knightly brothers’ love curse and the subsequent bad luck they experience due to a rather raucous night of partying in New Orleans and one ticked off palm reader. As laughable and ludicrous as the curse may seem to readers and to most of the Knightly family, because Griffin aligns the curse with a tragic set of circumstances that occurred soon after, he lives and breathes it and worries about putting his heart on the line for fear of what might happen if he does, which means as drawn as he is to Ren and her quirky, beautiful self, the only person who can make him see that he makes his own luck is Griffin himself and that’s not easy to accomplish given his track record and is constant need to protect himself from a pain he never wants to feel again.

The Knightly brothers are definitely swoon worthy, and I’m so ready for the three other men to get their stories, but I’m glad that Meghan Quinn began with Griffin and Ren’s book; Griffin’s the oldest of the four brothers and he’s the one who seems to have the most to lose when it comes to women, so him working through his issues and Ren helping him as best she can is something that needed to happen in order to solidify the idea that people are responsible for their own fate, regardless of how easy it may be to blame something or someone else.

I love that Ren takes control of her life and wants to rely on herself instead of other people. She may have been sheltered and naive to the ways of the world, but she deserves a chance to prove she’s capable of taking care of herself and by moving away from her family, she does just that, and it just so happens to also put her in Griffin Knightly’s path, giving him the necessary push that he needs to take a chance on love again.

I really enjoy Meghan Quinn’s storytelling and the characters she creates because their imperfections are relatable and the paths that they take in life illustrate just how non-linear it is and how essential it is to roll with the punches in order to not only survive but to live fully. That Second Chance is a slow burn, contemporary romance set in the perfectly quaint town of Port Snow, Maine, and its townspeople are charming, likable, quirky, and humorous, which adds so much to a story line. I loved getting both Griffin and Ren’s perspectives as they make their fresh start, and the comical and witty exchanges between them illustrate just how compatible they are and that as long as they stay out of their own way, they’ll not only disprove the curse, but they’ll also find out exactly what they’re made of!

I can’t wait for Meghan Quinn to take me back to Port Snow!

That Second Chance
By: Meagan Quinn

📚💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕📚

Can he live again? Is she his happy?

In this oh so sweet book Meagan Quinn takes us on a beautiful adventure of falling in love.

I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

Authors Blurb: It was supposed to be an innocent night, celebrating my brother’s birthday. Nothing was supposed to go wrong. We’d vowed to be on our best behavior after all . . .

But it only took one rowdy night with my brothers to flip my world upside down. One unlucky encounter saddled us with a family curse and the promise of doomed relationships. I laughed it off immediately. “Yeah, right,” I thought. “A love curse. Ha!”
Boy, was I wrong.

Word spreads quickly in a town like mine; rumors about that night soon made us the most eligible yet untouchable bachelors in Port Snow, Maine. As a subject of endless gossip and speculation, I could kiss my dating life goodbye.

It would have stayed that way if Ren Winters, the new girl in town, hadn’t crashed into my life. Brave, beautiful, and smart—her vivacious thirst for a fresh start has given me hope that maybe, just maybe, I can have one too.

Everyone wishes for that second chance . . . but could this really be mine?

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕
