Incriminating Evidence by Amanda Stevens is the second book in the Twilight Children's book series.

Catherine has had some vivid nightmares and possible memories surfacing that she is worried about and suspects that she might be the daughter of the well known twilight serial killer. Catherine turns to Detective Nick LaSalle to help her prove or disprove her theory.

This book is actually so much more mystery than romance. I was shockingly surprised I must say.

Yeah, I really enjoyed reading these books! I've really enjoyed Amanda Steven's writing, and yeah, this series was so great to read! I really enjoyed the idea of the children of the victims of a serial killer and the mysteries they encounter. Though only the last book was truly a Twilight's Child, the first one was a copycat, and the second was possibly his daughter and daughter of his first victim...

Each book had a short list of characters in the beginning, and one of them had to be the bad guy. Which sucks, because these were people that they were close to. They, as in one of the main characters. Not both of them, that would've been a bit too much!

Adaline and Ethan had a brief relationship years ago because he was trying to help his dad, and then the truth came out after she skirted some rules. Catherine and Nick met briefly in a professional standpoint. And Arden and Reid were childhood best friends turned lovers, until she miscarried. I really enjoyed the different levels of connection each couple had at the start of the books, and seeing their journeys!

I kinda would've liked to see some character overlap. There was overlap in the bodies found in the first book, are examined in the second, but I would've liked to see the characters, since they're kinda all connected. I would've also liked to have met some of the other Twilight's Children! But these are Harlequin Intrigue, so they are shorter, so it makes sense why those elements aren't in these books.

Really fantastic series, I really enjoyed reading it!

Catherine has been having some vivid nightmares and possible memories surfacing that shes worried and suspects that she might be the daughter of a well known twilight serial killer. After finding some strange evidence by her adoptive mother it lead her to Nick LaSalle and sees if he can look into the case for her. But it looks like the more they dive in the more secrets are exposed and there is clearly someone out there who wants to keep things quiet.

I thought that this was a romantic mystery thriller but the more I'm thinking about it, its not and I'm not mad about it. Not sure where I got that assumption from, clearly they are going to have some kind of connection to eachother but it wasn't the main focus of the story which I loved about this book. I loved getting to know more about Catherines characters and seeing how they were piecing things together. I loved watching as the mystery was unfolding and wondering who can she really trust when it came to this book. I loved that this book turned out nothing like I thought it would and I loved it all the same.

Having not read the first book in the series the author tried to catch readers up fast without taking up too much time and space in the story.

The story is slow moving for being only 256 pages but the author is able to fill in details to bring the world she created to life. The author was able to give readers the idea that there is more to NIck and Catherine than just this story.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of Amanda Stevens Incriminating Evidence.

Full review to be published online in late May.

INCRIMINATING EVIDENCE is the second book in the new ‘Twilight’s Children’ series by Amanda Stevens. It was honestly a better read than I was expecting given that it was a category romantic suspense. Suitably creepy if a tad mild psychological thriller that reminded me more than a little of the ‘Graveyard Queen’ series. My only complaint is that it wrapped up far too quickly and tidily. The payoff of the climax didn’t live up to the expectations the book was leading me to anticipate. I still enjoyed it quite a bit, though.

A very nice diversion while I’m anxiously awaiting the ‘Graveyard Queen’ spinoff series...

I love Amanda Stevens and I have always found her absolutely scary, this time also, but I found this book too fast, especially in the last pages where everything comes to an end out of the blue. I would have loved to know more about some hidden secrets and why and so on but in the end it was an enjoyable reading.

THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!
