Maggie and Joe are perfect for each other but neither one of them want to recognize the signs. It takes an accidental pregnancy to open their eyes. Beautiful Love Story!!!!

This sub-genre of medical romance was somewhat new to me. I thought I would give it a try. It’s a sweet romance and I like the friends to lovers trope. Maggie and Joe are EMT’s who work together and call themselves the “dream team.” They knew each other really well, but were just friends and did not really consider a romantic relationship. They knew each other well enough to know that they wanted different things in terms of marriage and children. One day after a delivery emergency, Maggie admits that she wants a baby. Well, this changes the relationship with Joe and makes things quite awkward. The story alternates between the 2 character’s perspectives and readers will enjoy reading about what each character thinks. I think this book would be a good choice for readers who enjoy watching Nightwatch or other EMS tv shows.

The reason I read romances is because I look for the deep & slow relationship that tells me they are meant to be together so that when we come to the end, I am left relatively satisfied that they truly belong & will have the HEA. However, when the road to the end is full of angst, no rushed HEA will make me believe in it.

Friends to lovers is my absolute favorite trope, so when I saw this book, reading it was a no brainer. It’s a great read. The h and H are both medics on a rescue team. They've been friends and partners for years. They know that the other is attractive, they have eyes after all, but it’s never been like that between them. Until it is. You can tell from the title that a baby was created, what it doesn’t tell you is that: 1. It is a planned pregnancy, 2. How they each feel about it after the fact, and 3. If their friendship will be irrevocably changed. Those details and how the author handles them give the reader a wonderful view into the lives of the characters, their childhoods and their chances of a HEA.

Rest assured, they get their HEA and the love is all the sweeter for the journey from friends to forever.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

I read this in one sitting. This was such a heart-felt story. I loved the characters. Both Maggie and Joe were a great team at work calling themselves the "dream team". They were best friends. They could count on each other to have the other's back. There was nothing romantic to their relationship as Maggie dreamed of being married with 6 children. Joe on the other hand never wanted to get married much less have children.

The author really did a fantastic job in convoying Joe's reactions to Maggie's news of a baby. It was done in such a way that you could easily identify with and feel for him. I loved how the dual POVs really connected me, the reader, to the characters. I felt like I was there with them throughout their journey to a HEA.

I also thought the author did a fantastic job in the descriptions and technical terms of the emergencies the teams when on as they were "air ambulance paramedic(s)".

I highly recommend this story to anyone. It was a real treat to read.

This is a story of two hotshot ER EMT’s who after five years of being together as a team were of one brain. But only on the job.
After work, their belief systems were polar opposites but the year, they liked to do a lot of the same things and their friends were the same things and their friends were the same. So, either way, they would encounter one another. It was wise to remain on each other’s good side. They never had to worry they genuinely like each other.
After an emergency delivery of a baby, Maggie lets Joe in on a secret. She tells him she wants one of these. What she means is…a baby. At that, he just cringes. Marriage and family is not his thing. So, to be flip he says pick out of a book or better yet ask a good friend. Never once thinking she would ask him, being he is her best friend. Why not? I have no clue.
Well, needless to say, this put a major strain on their friendship and work relationship. This was a fast read to go along with their adrenaline rush “Hot One” calls as EMT’s. To see the way Joe’s character changes, right before your eyes is interesting. I give this: 3 stars. Provided by netgalley.com.

Sadly this one wasn’t entirely for me and whilst I do like Alison Roberts writing voice and have read several of her past medical romances, I struggled to become invested in this couple. Definitely one to check out for yourself.

It was okay. I hoped for a little more drama, a little more depth to the characters. The writing was excellent, and it was an easy, sweet mood. Characters were relateble and I liked them.
2/5 stars.
