This book will draw you in, the story is interesting and the characters are complicated. There are four unique women dealing with a myriad of their own personal problems, and then the murder happens. I was caught up in the tension and suspense. Unfortunately, I couldn’t connect with any of the characters as they were too wrapped up in themselves, even when they could have leaned on each other.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

There was a death and several women confess giving different stories. The detectives have to comb the evidence and decide who's telling the truth and why. I'm not a huge fan of mysterys but some I like. I thought the descriptions of events and dialogue was boring.

I enjoyed this one. It was a quick easy read.

Definitely for fans of Big Little Lies since it feels very alike, although the plots and motives were different.

I liked the character development and how the author managed to make each one of the women as relatable and even with their flaws make you root for them.

At some point it was predictable, but there were two of 3 things that happen that I didn't guess.

Thank you NetGalley and Publisher for this early copy!

Did not finish - I could not connect with the plot or writing so I decided to put it down.

Great read! Four different woman all confessed to murder all to save the truth. It was very fun to follow all four woman’s stories.

This was an interesting story but not as suspenseful as I had hoped when reading the description. this may be a perfect fit for others but it was just ok for me.

The story was interesting enough, I wanted to keep reading it and find out so it did well that way to have the reader invested. I found the over-arching story line of everyone so focused on kids was tiring and overdone. It got to a point half way through where I would have liked to shake every character for being so annoying and not being able to see past their own experience. Especially Ginger, her actions towards Emily were so unnecessary. I realize they were that way for the story, but what a shitty woman. Most of them were shitty though. If the plot wasn't as interesting, I wouldn't have finished this book. Would probably give 3.5 stars but rounding down to 3.

Good. Not great, but good. I think the premise has been done before. I will say that while it is easy to guess who the victim is pretty early (I don't think author is really trying to hide it), I definitely did not guess the ending. That's what makes or breaks a book like this for me, so this one was successful!

What happens when four women confess to a murder at a weekend wedding - Pretty Guilty Women. You don't know who was murdered or why - just that each of the women have their own problems and issues that they are dealing with and each may have a reason to kill someone.

Fast paced, funny at times this book has moms and teenage daughters, growing old, love (or lack of love), attending a wedding when your ex will be there, misunderstandings, facing friends you haven't seen, and all sorts of other issues one may deal with with family and friends. Its a fun read when you are looking for something that is not so serious.

I was very excited to read this - it seemed a bit like Big Little Lies, but I really liked the premise. I definitely wanted to know more about the deceased and the women that confessed!
The book seemed to be a bit slow at times, but I was so curious to see who really did it!

Billed as a Big Little Lies that takes place over one wedding weekend at a California resort, I can definitely see the comparison - except that to me it felt like a rip-off, with no likeable characters and some big inconsistencies in their actions or the plot in general that could have used better editing...

This was a fun one as well, but for different reasons. The tag line for the novel describes it well: “Four Women. Four Confessions. One Murder.” Written from the perspectives of all four women, the reader gets an intimate look into their lives, both in the present and through flashbacks into their pasts. Emily is a lost soul, losing herself in alcohol and meaningless sex; Kate has money—but it can’t buy everything; Ginger feels like her family is falling apart, certainly her relationship with her daughter, and this holiday she saved so hard for isn’t turning out as well as she hoped; and then there is Lulu who dearly loves her husband, but is afraid he may be straying. Emily, Kate and Ginger were college roommates of the bride’s and are both looking forward to and dreading their reunion. Lulu is a family member of the groom’s. Right from the start, the reader knows someone was murdered. Exactly who died and why is the ultimate question, along with by whose hand.

Pretty Guilty Women is one of those books that once you start, it is hard to stop reading. I needed to know what was going to happen next. I liked the glimpses the author gave us into her character’s lives. It was impossible not to feel for all of them to some degree, although Kate was perhaps the hardest for me to relate to. They are all at low places in their lives. Each of the characters (mostly) grows in this novel, including coming closer together, adding hope to their despair. I thought the mystery itself was well played out and thoroughly entertaining.

An extravagant wedding at the Serenity Resort and Spa ends in a death and four women confessing to murder… Gina LaManna’s Pretty Guilty Women is a perfect beach-read. The drama of four former friends who lost touch reconnecting was popcorn-worthy. Add in a murder and four independent confessions, I was so curious to find out what was going on!

I love this type of story telling. Each chapter is punctuated by a police interview of one of the four women or other hotel employees or guests. You won’t find out who was the victim until close to the end, so I had quite a few theories and I thought the reveal was a lot of fun!

I heard a few reviewers complain that the women seemed a bit petty or competitive at times. This is absolutely true, but that is what made them feel authentic. Frankly, who doesn’t have moments where we feel less than someone else and worry about justifying that what we have and who we are is good enough? These feelings are often self-imposed, and I liked that LaManna showed that they all felt this same worry that they were less than.

I also loved how they each grew to appreciate what they do have and how others might envy it. For instance, Kate has all of the beauty, money, and success, but she can’t get pregnant. This is a problem that money can’t fix, and so all of the things Kate has achieved feel meaningless when she sees others with children. Ginger feels like she can barely make ends meet, but then she realizes she has a man who loves her and three beautiful children. Emily holds onto her pain, convinced she is the problem. And eventually, she realizes that it isn’t her that is the problem. She didn’t cause these things, and she needs to stop feeling guilty.

Then there are the two other characters who are central but not part of the college friends—Lulu and Sydney. Lulu was probably my favorite character in some ways, a woman who fought her way into a string of marriages that paid off, and now is truly in love and worried she’ll lose him. Sydney is a young mother they meet in the bar with her baby Lydia. I really was curious and Sydney and she ends up being a really interesting part of the story as the book goes on. Lots of interesting tidbits in the story about Sydney, but you’ll have to read it to find those out!

The books stays light and breezy, and though the murder is central to the investigation, the true story is about these four women. Who are they, what drives them, how do we see them grow throughout these events, and what happened to make each of them confess? This is a great vacation read. I flew through it and I enjoyed the mix of drama and suspense. I loved it!

While this is a turny little mystery it is even more of a women helping women story. The lengths women will go to be there in a time of need.

Four women all confess to murdering a man. I loved seeing how this story came together. From the start I was hooked and wanted to know who was murdered and who murdered him. Getting to see all of the characters and learn their histories made this story so intriguing and as the pieces started to fall into place I was on the edge of my seat to see what would happen next. Seeing the friendships develop or change as the story went on also added a great depth. Overall this was a very enjoyable story that I would highly recommend.

Pretty Guilty Women is definitely in the vein of Pretty Little Liars. Dear old friends meet up at a seriously upscale wedding - only to discover a man has been murdered. Thus begins the "Who Done It" plot. It was a quick read, crafted around friendship, secrets, and of course, mystery. I enjoyed reading Pretty Guilty Women!

I have read every book by Gina LaManna and was looking forward to this new addition. It was worth the wait. The twist and turns, not to mention the multitude of laughs throughout, made this who-done-it a book I would definitely recommend. Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I was able to read this book thanks to NetGalley. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and found it to be quite different than your typical thriller.
Three friends meet up in a California t for a wedding. When a man ends up dead, all three of these women in addition to another wedding guest end up confessing to the murder individually to the detective. Why would they do this? All have hidden secrets and this one kept me guessing. I will recommend to my friends! Thanks again to NetGalley!
