Cute stories that have a common tie of the cameo throughout the generations. I love that it spans several generations and has that common theme drawing them together.

Sweet stories that all included the cameo in some way. I loved following it through the generations. Another great novella collection from Barbour!

Cameo Courtships by Susanne Dietze, Jennifer Uhlark, Kathleen Y’Barbo and Debra E. Marvin is a great collection of four stories based on a family heirloom cameo.
Aunt Letitia is given a cameo by Queen Victoria and told that cameos are only on loan and the wearer is the custodian, preserving and protecting I until it is time to pass it on. The queen tells her that when the time is right, she will know who to pass it on to. She also tells her that she met her husband just after receiving the cameo herself and that the cameo will bring a great adventure and possibly love to the wearer. Each story tells of the next person to inherit temporary custody of the cameo.
I love this book. The characters are all so different and yet the authors blend them so well into the stories as they unfold. The women definitely go on very exciting adventures while in possession of the cameo and the keeps the stories exciting and makes them real page turners. Each story is very unique yet the family characters still appear and their actions are not so different that you realize that it is a different author. I really am impressed at they way the authors have blended these stories into one book. I give it 5 of 5 stars. It is truly a book you will not want to miss out on.

This is the first Barbour historical romance collection I've read since they've changed the format to just four novellas per book. While the collections have always been written around a theme, "Cameo Courtships" takes that to a whole new level. All four stories are about a single family and a special cameo that gets handed down through the generations. The authors did a bang-up job of coordinating their stories and it reads almost like one long novel. It was hard to pick a favorite, but since I always do, I'll go with "Taming Petra" by Jennifer Uhlarik because I loved "Buckskin Pete."

A lovely collection of stories revolving around a cameo brooch, this book was very entertaining. Each story was vastly different, and I enjoyed reading them. Very clean, and interesting. I will enjoy reading them again!

Cameo Courtships
By: Susanne Dietze, Debra E. Marvin, Jennifer Uhlarik, Kathleen Y’Barbo
“I was told by that one never owns a cameo. One wears and enjoys it, but one is its custodian, preserving and protecting it for those who come after. The woman who gave it to me insisted she knew I was the one to receive it, and she urged me to pass it along when I had a similar feeling as to who the next recipient should be. I believe it is you…”
It is a challenge to bring together multiple authors to share a continued story as is done in this book. I enjoyed all four of the tales shared however. After receiving a cameo from Queen Victoria, herself this cameo is passed from family member to family member and thought to bring adventure and love to the wearer. The flow from story to story worked well. Each story was its own and there was never a dull moment in reading. I found the women’s adventures while wearing the cameo to be not only amusing but inspiring.
Here are some of my favorite quotes:
“Don’t see yourselves as you were, but know that, despite your daily failings, He who has begun a good work in you will complete it. You are already accepted and loved with an unceasing love. You will grow as you accept it. Forgive others, but don’t forget to forgive yourselves.”
“You are not the mistakes of you’ve made,” he continued. “You are measured by the fact that you are a child of God. In Christ, you’ve been given a seat at the Fathers table. He welcomes you whether you feel worthy or not.”
“Friends, don’t make the mistake of thinking pride is simply being puffed up with a high opinion of yourself. Many are those who take pride in their refusal to change. It can be as simple as refusing to accept your own value.”

CAMEO COURTSHIPS is a collection of four novellas, by four different authors, that follow the story of four women to whom a precious heirloom has been passed down through the generations, originally belonging to Queen Victoria. The story flows so well that it reads as a full novel. I like the Christian content in each novella. The characters are delightfully portrayed by each author and this brings a freshness to the book. I do not usually enjoy short stories but something like this appeals to me, and I can really recommend Cameo Courtships as a most enjoyable read.

This book was excellent. I enjoyed reading these connected stories that were all very well done. I was impressed at how close in time these stories were, while still keeping track of all the people and personalities across all the stories. I would have gladly read more of these stories, and the potential is there for a second book with new stories to tell. All of them were excellent, and I would strongly recommend this book.

I love this type of book! It has 4 different stories by 4 different authors and all the stories are connected with a cameo that was handed down from generation to generation. All of the stories are very well written and hold your attention. Thank you Barbour Publishing via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.
