This story begins with an Amish girl discovering two run-away slaves in her father's barn in Lancaster County, Pa. From there, the story unfolds in a manner very UNLIKE any Amish story I've ever read. I don't want to give anything away...but the story runs through the era of the Civil War and ends when Lee surrenders to Grant and the war is over.
