This is definitely a female version of Harry Potter for adults.

The further into the series you get the more extreme it gets.

Well worth a read.

Womby’s School for Wayward Witches Series Books 1-5 was such a great fun read. It’s not the full set so I’m definitely going to read the rest. I could see this in a tv series. Great job. Loved it.

A more...grown-up (?) version of Harry Potter with a heroine instead of a hero. This is not set in the Harry Potter universe, but it's the closest I can get to describing the vibe this set gives off. Definitely not for the young adult novel, there are some parts of this that skirt the recommended for 18+ line. A great premise but overall I'm left not feeling very strongly about it one way or another. Decent way to spend some time.

I have not read anything like this series before and rather enjoyed it. It does have some cozy elements one of which is the ability for the reader to jump in at any point in the series. I look forward to the author adding more installments and seeing the characters develop in the future. Although I am not typically particularly a witchy mystery expert I really appreciated that I didn’t have to be in order to enjoy this.

First off, I would like to thank the author for sending me an email with a pdf of the books and informing me that I did not have to read them in order like I initially thought when I first read the fourth book.
You do not have to read the books in order because they became redundant, so once you read the first five pages, you will get the whole gist.
With that being said, if you can handle it (which I could not because I got so annoyed with the characters for more on this view here https://bookgirlreviewsbooks.blogspot.com), then it is a quick and easy read, or you can be like me and DNF halfway through the second book.

1.5 out of 5 stars.

This is the first 5 in a series that I would describe as an adult version of Harry Potter. Maybe not as well written but still a really good series.

Clarissa finds out she is a witch and ends up teaching at a magical school. But she finds out that no one wants her in the school because of her heritage of her descendents being an evil witch.

What I liked best is this is a boxed set so I was able to start at the beginning and continue reading. This is still ongoing so I look forward to continuing the series.

I received a copy of this start to the series from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

As much as I loved the Harry Potter series, I always kind of wished it would have more of a bad ass, sexy element to it. If you felt the same way, then this is a series for you.

When I first picked up this series, I started out of order on book 7. But the beauty of these books is that they can be read out of order and you’ll still know what’s going on. I was hooked and I actually read to book 12 before deciding that I should probably start at the beginning to see what I missed. I’m so glad I did because I learned about how Carissa came to be at Womby’s, the death of her sister, more about her relationship with Thatch, history on her infamous mother, and a glimpse into how her various relationships with friends and family started and ended. I can’t gush enough about how awesome this series is. It’s completely addictive, it’s witty, very funny, emotional, a bit sexually charged, particularly in the later books, the storylines just flow incredibly well, and it’s so easy to get attached to characters.

The books are a good length and you can whip through them quickly. I highly recommend them and I can’t wait to finish them all.

Magic and mystery makes for a fun read. Following the characters as they grow through this box set was great. This is the first time I've read this author and I was pleasantly surprised. Just when you think nothing else could go wrong, it totally does. I really enjoyed these stories and will be reading more from the author.

The first 5 books of the crazy tale and life of Clarissa Lawrence.

Womby's School for Wayward Witches is a series that follows Clarissa as she finds herself in more and more trouble in life as she discovers her heritage and magic. Everything that could go wrong goes, a boyfriend getting hit by a house? A hook up getting hit by lightening? She can't catch a break, and so can't we as we follow her along.
And follow her we do, since once you start on Dorie's writing you can't stop!

I am glad I could read the whole series in one shot. I love books with paranormal twist and I love witch books. This was good read. Perhaps I expected much more here, bit the books did not disspoint because there was a lot of magic in the storyline. It was a pleasant and entertaining read.

....I really, really, really did not like the protagonist. I found her abrasive and unrelatable. I feel like the author relied a little too much on the awkward, unpopular girl thing instead of building a realistic character.

This collection of books is about a teenage witch that is living in the mortal world.. She is unable to control her powers especially when she is aroused. She and her best friend come together during prom, and are romantically attracted to each other. The result of their first kiss is traumatic, and they become separated. She must be able to remember what happened, and traverse into world of magic to learn how to master her powers so that she doesn't hurt people by accident. She goes through a series of trials throughout the series. I was transported to a magical realm where all things are possible. I love the hilarious unicorn that reminds me of donkey in Shrek. I wish they had books like this when I was a teenager. The author captures the essence of teenage angst from not fitting in. It reminds us that sometimes being different is better. I can't wait to see what happens next. I do hope the series continues!

This review isn't going to be long. I'm not a huge fan of a review rehashing the entire plot and spoiling it for everyone.

This is the first set of books by Sarina Dorie that I have read. I was hooked from the first chapter. I love how this series takes the heroine from teen to adult. This is a riveting series. I now have purchased the rest of the series.

I received an ARC of this book to read through NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

I went in expecting nothing, so I was pleasantly surprised when I actually enjoyed the books.

The book takes place at a magic boarding school, but it’s told from the teachers perspective, which I found really refreshing.

The books have magic, mystery and intrigue all combined in one, so for a quick and easy read, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is a five book witch series that starts out with the young girls being in high school. I did enjoy the series but did not like the age gap between the first and second book

A splendid set of stories about witches. I really enjoyed all 5 books. They were unique and nicely written.

Sarina Dorie writes with a wonderful sense of humor that keeps the readers entertained as her mysteries progress. Her characters interact as friends and not so friends do in real life, even if the stories are set in a school for witches. I've read several of her books and have loved them all. I'll keep watching for more from her.
