Well, what can I say....Lisa Renee Jones weaves quite the mystery!! This had it all...intrigue, deception, love, friendship, murder, political gain....just a great book. It surrounds the daughter of a politically ambitious presidential candidate, her friends and all those who fall in between. I never knew who to trust or to who to believe. I just could not put this one down!!!!!

***Thanks to the publisher for an e-arc, in exchange for an honest review****

3/5 stars.

I liked the story, but I felt like it was trying to be too many things at once. The flashbacks to the "past" and the "past" chapters that took up like 95% of the book confused me a tad.

Also, there were climactic moments that became anticlimactic due to thin plot/lack of development.

I thought the MC was an interesting character, although she and the secondary characters (esp. Logan) could have been developed further.

The ending could potentially have been a little less vague, it was strange and not in the strange way I typically like.

All in all, I liked the premise and the mystery of this story. There is a promise to it, and I like this author a lot. I look forward to the next Lilah Love book!

Thanks to the publisher for an ARC to read and give my honest opinion.

Note to self:
While this is one of my favorite authors, this book did not feel like her normal work. It felt like an old story this author may have polished to sell but I did not feel like this book was written recently.
Just my opinion.

The story is about a girl (Hailey Monroe) and her plight as being the daughter of a man who has Presidential aspirations. After a tragedy of losing her mother, she also loses her father's love because he blames her for the event. The story moves past college years to another event which shatters her adult life.

What did I like? It was a fast paced read and an ARC from a favorite author. The idea of the book was pretty solid but some of the events in the book seemed to spiral fast, and the ending was too fast.

Would I buy this book? Sadly, No. No two people read a book the same way but I just felt that I could not reread this one like I could her Lilah Love series. Sorry Hailey...you are not Lilah.

Thoughts for the author? Where's Lilah Love? Cant wait for the next book!

I gave the story three stars, my lowest ever for this author. :(

I enjoyed reading this book. It had a good story to it. I liked the variety of characters in it. It is my first book read by this author. I hope to read more books by this author.

A Perfect Lie had that awesome feeling of unease and confusion from start to finish. Which is great in a story like this. Problem being, I'm still kinda confused. It's not a cliffhanger at the end, don't get me wrong, but there is no pretty bow tying up every question and loose end. I still want to know so many things! I want to interview characters and find out who all knows what. It was an enjoyable ride, kept me totally drawn in and trying to figure things out, I just didn't. I need more.

I received an ARC copy of this book from the publisher for my honest opinion. A Perfect Lie? Is there such a thing? This book grabs you with one event after another. Where do the lies start and stop? What part will our protagonist play in those lies? These are the questions that will keep you up reading this book into the wee hours of the night. A good story with the right amount of intrigue and twists and turns.
