At last a hot romantic novel that has a story.

I liked the beginning of the book with the instant attraction from Gabe and Abbie. Gabe being a ruthless lawyer who only has one night stands. Abbie is also a lawyer but has come out of marriage to a ruthless millionaire that doesn't want to let her go. They both have secrets that they are not willing to share with each other.

But by the middle of the book I tired of Abbie's "Yes I'm in and then no I'm not."
There was too much seesawing of emotions from Abbie and I just wanted her to make up her mind.

I wanted more of the story and what the secrets are than the indecision in every page.

It was good to read that Gabe wasn't the usual Alpha Male saying "You belong to me". Instead it was "You belong with me."

Overall a good story with steamy scenes - but not too many of them. Unfortunately you have to read the next book in the series to find out the back stories of both Gabe and Abbie.

Love this author and this book. Read it in a day and immediately pre-ordered book 2. Well written as always and totally sucked in immediately.

So I’m in serious need of book two like right now. Loved every bit of this book and I can’t wait to read more. Lisa never fails me in her book worlds. Each part is well done and enjoyable from the characters to the storyline. Would definitely recommend!

Lisa Renee Jones has never disappointed me. I can count on her books having great, complex characters, lots of intrigue and intelligently thought out plot lines and a sexy, touching love story. His Demand is yet another great read.

Gabe is a killer lawyer having been trained by one of the dirtiest players in the New York legal scene, dear old dad. He's sexy, smart and intense. After a super hot kiss as strangers in a hall outside a bathroom, he's immediately fascinated by Abbie. Frustrated to have no idea how to find her again, he's pleased to come across her at his law firm.

Unable to meet with Gabe's brother, Abbie is desperate and Gabe is the next best lawyer. She needs a shark who can take on two of the city's wealthiest and most ruthless and despicable men, one of whom is her ex-husband.

In true Jones fashion, there's lots of hot sex and tantalizing flirting, a relationship that goes from attracted strangers to soulmates in no time flat and enough life-threatening intrigue to make for tons of suspense.

The only bad new? It, like many Jones novels, ends in a huge cliff-hanger and I was not ready to have to stop and wait for the next book! Damn you Jones!

To be continued, argh a cliffhanger novel, so not a fan of cliffhangers. That being said though, this story was a well-written start to what promises to be an interesting conclusion.

Gabe is a self proclaimed prick, living life, loving women (not redheads though) and making money. He is living his best life until one night, a smoking hot redhead plants a kiss on his lips that he just can’t forget. He sets off on a mission to find out who she is and make Abigail his. He doesn’t have to look far when he sees her at his office sooner rather than later.

Abigail can’t believe she didn’t recognize Gabe when she pulled him into that kiss. She was so blinded by lust and the awakening of feelings she hadn’t had for a very long time that she didn’t put it all together quickly enough. Now, as she runs from his office building with him in pursuit, she realizes this isn’t a smart plan. She needed help and Gabe’s brother Reid was the person she thought could help her get out of the mess she’s in. She didn’t anticipate seeing Gabe again, ever.

Gabe tracks down Abigail and agrees to help her. He fights the attraction he feels for her, to a certain extent, and does what he can to protect her. Abigail has more to lose than Gabe, with her Mom and the animal shelter, she knows it could all crumble at any minute. Can Gabe really help her?

Abigail has secrets, Gabe has secrets, it got repetitive at times and I did feel like some conversations/scenarios were added just for word counts. I’m curious to see how this is going to play out ending on the cliffhanger like it did. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance reader copy giving it 4 out of 5 stars.

I've seen LRJ's stuff, but never picked up one of her books. I finally had a chance to read this from NetGalley and... I liked it, but in reflection, it was just ok. Maybe #1 is the set up. The lure of the push-pull romance and #2 is the shocker twisty-payoff that this story has slowly been building towards? <-- A question mark on this because I really have no idea if that's the style for LRJ's books.

A couple things:
* The push-pull was going on sooo long. I am ok with the organic tug-of-war "Am I in? Am I out?" of the relationship, but there were so many times Abbie would be talk about being "out" and then she'd get jealous of a blonde checking him out that she's furious and "in" again. I was experiencing reader whiplash reading she's "out" and then reading her acting "in." Kooky.
* The ex and the behind-the-scenes drama so behind-the-scenes we can't figure out why he's after her and what she needs to do to end the terrorizing he's inflicting on her. Maybe it'll be revealed in #2, but in #1, it just seemed like the author couldn't think of anything good and would rather focus on Gabe & Abbie's insta-love.

Everything's been so-so. Not sure if I'll get a chance at #2, but I am hoping that one is good enough for me to recognize the value of the duology. Otherwise, #1 is not all that as a standalone read.

His Demands is about Gabe Maxwell. We were introduced to him in Dirty Rich One Night Stand, Cat and Reese's duet. Gabe is Cat’s brother. So this book revolves around Gabe and Abigail who have a strong attraction to one another. But each have major secrets and past histories. This book was a great read and part one of a duet. It ends on a big CLIFFHANGER! I can’t wait for Her Submission to be released. which is the conclusion to their story. I also want to add that this book is so good because their is so much suspense and intrigue and secrets they both have besides their mutual attraction for each other.I also want to thank net galley for this ARC i received for an honest review. This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

This is a hard review for me as I want to give a fair review but that is not easy when I absolutely hate cliffhangers in a book, especially when you have to wait for the next book to continue the story.

What I did read was well written but aside from the drama at the rescue shelter, there really was not much besides the instant attraction between Gabe and Abbie. They both have secrets that they are not willing to share and only get a hint of those secrets.

There are side characters throughout the story that I am guessing have been the main characters in other books but since I have only read one other book by this author I do not know their history. I really love it when an author has a list at the end of the book that directs readers to "Reid's story" for example!

If you enjoy serial books, then this first book is a great build-up to Gabe and Abbie's romance and goes into great detail of their attraction to each other, and there is so much that you want to find out - Abbie's ex is dead, why was the shelter targeted, what is Gabe's father's involvement, what are their secrets, will they have problems when they find out those secrets?? Great first book - if you like the suspense of waiting for the next installment.

Gabe Maxwells an attorney who takes no prisoners, sharp and ruthless in his practise and relationships, one night stands are all he wants, no involvements nothing personal.
At a bar he sees Abigail and is immediately attracted to her unlike anything he’s experienced before, although previous heartbreak / disaster are alluded to which has made him the man he is now.
Abigail has been in a terrible marriage to a powerful billionaire and is herself not looking for a relationship, but both fall hard and fast for each other, each keeping their own secrets that we’re yet to discover. Gabe is determined to protect Abigail she is petrified her ex will damage him badly. A lot of questions are raised in this story and we will have to wait for the second instalment to find out the answers.
I enjoyed this story enough to want to find out what happens, though I would of preferred to have it all nicely sewn up.
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

With His Demand, Lisa Renee Jones begins her Dirtier Duet with the story of rich and powerful Gabe Maxwell who vowed to never commit until a beautiful redhead unexpectedly kisses him, thanks him, proceeds to leave and take his heart in the process.

Gabe fell in obsessed lust with Abbie before even knowing her name and was unreservedly determined to not let her go when she shows up at the bar they’d met before. She’s not there to kiss him again, she’s there to ask for his firm’s help, but Gabe’s desire towards her is unyielding and soon they’re burning up the sheets. However, Abbie’s troubles can’t be ignored and even though they seem unsurmountable to her, Gabe is resolute in helping her and keeping her safe no matter how many secrets they’re both hiding.

Right from the start, Abbie and Gabe’s attraction is as big as the barriers they hide behind. Even though they pledge to work through the problems they’re faced with together, Abbie is clearly not on board with Gabe wanting to take care of and protect her muddying their fledgling relationship with lack of trust. Add to that the fact that Gabe’s favorite way of convincing her to agree with him is via seduction – granted their sexy times are sizzling hot – as opposed to open, honest communication, and we get a lot of recurring push and pull but very little forward motion.

Gabe is an alluring character that had me hooked from the start and intrigued about his past. Even though the story felt a bit repetitive, Gabe’s close to perfect persona, their passion and the twist at the end grabbed my attention for what’s to come.

His Demand is book #1 of the Dirtier Duet by author Lisa Renee Jones. It is a contemporary romance, told from both points of view with a cliffhanger.

I couldn’t put this down! Gabe is not only sexy, but completely addicting. I can’t wait for book 2

Oh man goodness this story threw me through so many head spins and plot turns that I couldn't keep up. Once I thought I had something figured out, the story went sideways and I was back trying to figure out and keep up. I love Abbie, Gabe, and Abbie's mom (I honestly think she's my favorite next to Dexter). The insta-love between two damaged people is intense, and I can't wait for the second book, nor to see what other wrenches will be thrown into this story.

I think the story line could have been great and the characters had potential. What I found was a lot of repetition-- constant reminders through the same words and the same dialogue about how the characters couldn't be together. So much so that it wasn't building the chemistry between Gabe and Abbie but became more tedious where i would skip over passages.
I get that this is a romantic suspense so of course the romance part might be a whirlwind of sorts but this instalment of the duet happens within a week maybe a week and a half time span and the two characters act like they are an old married couple. It's hard to buy into the insta-love notion when the chemistry between the two characters hasn't been developed enough. The backstory of the two characters which is vague to some degree makes it hard to believe these two characters would throw caution to the wind and jump into a relationship with each other.
The suspense part of the story on one hand I do want to find out what the heck is going on but I feel as if the author didn't even throw us a bone before leaving us on a crazy cliffhanger. I feel we're no closer to the answers at the end of this book than we were at the first page.
There were parts of the story I did enjoy but overall this book wasn't for me.
D 2/5

DNF

My interest was definitely peaked in the beginning but then the author dove right into the sex. And not just a short scene but too much for 10% into the book.

No story here so I stopped.

Strong characters are a trait of Lisa Renee Jones' stories, and this one delivered everything I expected.

Finished this book in a few hours as I could not put it down now just have to wait for the next one Her submission! Highly recommend reading.

Gabe and Abbie meet as she is looking for legal assistance from his brother against her powerful/scary ex husband. Once they meet sparks fly and quickly changes both of them, but not her situation with her ex.

Lisa Renee Jones does it again!!

His Demand is book one in the Dirtier Duets and wow! Boy was this book good. I couldn't put this book down and I didn't want to because it was so good.

I love the story and the characters.

I am giving this 5 out of 5.

Thanks to the publisher for an ARC to read and give my honest opinion.

This was such a fun book....Gabe Maxwell meets his match when he is kissed by a strange woman one night at a bar beside his apartment building. This chance meeting becomes more when the woman comes to Gabe for help with a private matter only to realize who she has kissed. Abbie is everything he avoids in a woman but he is hooked since she unexpectedly kissed him.

What did I like? The chemistry is so hot in this one. Love a good sizzling romance. Abbie gives as good as she get's and the adopted dog Dexter (yes named after a serial killer) steals the show.

Would I buy this book? Definitely, I want the next part too. There is some mystery and intrigue in this one, so it will be fun to see what happens next. I would loan this book to anyone with a love for romance. Five stars for entertainment!

Thoughts for the author? Loved it! Can't wait for Her Submission! Great chemistry and just fun characters!
