Best book yet by P.J Tracey. The characters were compelling. Story kept you gripped throughout in this pacy crime thriller. A real page turner. Couldn't put it down. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me review this book.

I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Ice Cold Heart’ by P J Tracy in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
During the bitterly cold winter in Minnesota Detectives Magozzi and Rolseth are called to the homicide of Kelly Ramage whose body is found in an empty house belonging to her friend. Kelly’s husband tells Magozzi and Rolseth that on the evening she disappeared Kelly attended an art exhibition showing the work of Rado. Meanwhile the Monkeewrench Software team, Harley, Roadrunner, Annie and Grace, are working with the crime enforcement agency to help solve the Bit Monster cryptocoin conspiracy which threatens the world's financial market.
‘Ice Cold Heart’ is a worthy addition to the Monkeewrench series and is just as exciting as those previously written. It has two separate strands to the story which makes for a fast-paced and gripping plot, there’s lots of action, dangerous suspects, twists and turns, and interesting new characters such as Petra Juric who hunts down war criminals and who Roadrunner has taken a liking to. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed meeting Grace and Leo Magozzi again with their beautiful daughter Elizabeth. I’ve really enjoyed this thriller which I was unable to stop reading and look forward to the next one.

I love the Monkeywrench gang and this book was particularly enjoyable. Humor and suspense go hand in hand in this novel. The death of a woman creates a case that is far reaching and engrossing. The only trouble I had with it was the bitcoin area. It was too technical for me. I don't want to share too much since it is fun to discover bits of the plot as you go along. Just know there is fun and evil.

Kelly Rowland is bored by her husband and looking for some fun. Unfortunately, she has chosen the wrong man and is found dead. The case is investigated by Gino and Magozzi. Meanwhile, Monkeewrench are working on something to do with bitcoins which was a bit too technical for me. Roadrunner meets a neighbour who turns out to be searching for a war criminal from the Yugoslavian conflict, Of course, all of these threads turn out to be the same case by the end. The war criminal being chased is truly evil and gives me quite a few chills. I enjoyed the fact that another one of the Monkeewrench crew had a bit more fleshing out of their character although this still felt limited. The end was action packed and satisfying,

This is the first Monkeewrench novel I have read and it did not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was about the sadistic kidnapping and brutal murders of women, but was also able to interject humor along the way, where appropriate. Thank you Netgalley and Crooked Lane Books for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

Loved this mystery and the monkey wrench crew. Tracy is a gifted mystery writer who creates well plotted storylines and characters who we love with just enough twists and turns to keep it interesting.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book

ICE COLD HEART – P.J. Tracy – Crooked Lane Books – September 2019
“Monkeewrench” series
Although this book is part of a series, “Monkeewrench,” it is my first read of the series. I enjoyed it very much and found it enthralling from the first page. It is well written and the author’s use of language drew me into the story with her vivid descriptions of the scenarios as well as the characters themselves. She has a heavy hand with the humor jar which makes the gruesome nature of this homicidal thriller palatable.
A woman, Kelly Ramage, was killed in Minneapolis in a horrible manner and homicide detectives Leo Magozzi and Gino Rolseth are on the case. As they delve into the evidence gathering they discover a similar homicide occurred in California the prior year. Like their homicide, that case seemed linked to the exclusive exhibits of the mysterious artist and sculptor Rado. A visit from a psychic medium named Blanca Szabo warning them about an abduction and murder of a woman, just before Kelly Ramage was found dead, had been dismissed until Blanca too is found dead in a manner similar to their first victim.
The search for the murderer or murderers take over Leo and Gino’s lives. The more they learn, the more they realize that a very wide net is needed to capture the culprits. Behind these killings are a network of old foes who have mastered technology including cryptocurrency. After two more women disappear, they call in the Monkeewrench crew to use their technological expertise to assist in preventing two more homicides.
It is an exciting trip riding alongside Gino and Leo. They have interesting friends with well-developed intellects and senses of humor and they meet some really bizarre characters on their investigation trail. I am definitely going to read more of the Monkeewrench series. I love the combination of humor and gripping storylines in this book. An interesting note about the author, P.J. Tracy, is that it was a mother/daughter team writing under that name, but since December 2016, after the passing of her mother, Traci Lambrecht is continuing the series solo.
This book will be published in the USA in September 2019. I was given an ARC by the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. – 4 stars – 04/15/19

What's not to like about spending time with the Monkeewrench crew and seeing how they've grown and changed over the year. Monkeewrench are investigating a crime that they discover is linked to a particularly nasty murder that Gino and Magozzi are investigating. Definitely recommend for fans of this series.

A real page turner. This one kept me happily awake and reading on a long trip. I could not put it down. Well written and I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and hope to see more in the future. I've already recommended it to other readers I know.

Another great book featuring the Monkeewrench crew, but you don't have to read the entire series to enjoy this one.
A trophy wife decides that life is boring with her accountant husband, so she decides to do something daring to spice up her life. She ends up being a victim to a brutal murder. She was last seen at an "art" exhibit where the artist, "Rado", shows violent images of women alongside his sculptures. There is a concurrent storyline about an internet breach of a bitcoin website where a hacker has stolen a bunch of money, which is how Monkeewrench gets involved. As White Hat hackers, they are helping solve the mystery of the missing money which may have a tie to the murder. As a side note, these books are set in Minnesota which gives me a great appreciation for living in Georgia :)
Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

When half of the P J Tracy team died a few years ago I was very worried we wouldn’t get anymore Monkeywrench, or, if we did, it might not be as good. Fortunately, the remaining team member has continued to do an awesome job and this book was no exception. It’s nice to see some of the Monkeywrench finally finding some love and happiness too, when it first began they were a bit hard arsed and tried not to care too much for others. Another great read thanks P. J.!

Another fascinating book involving Monkeewrench and our 2 detectives.
Murder comes to town with a link to BDSM and an adult club in the locality.
Roadrunner has a romantic encounter, will it lead to a life of wedded bliss??
A storyline also running through the novel is about the search for war criminals from the Serbian war. Luckily Monkeewrench are able to help.
Well worth reading, I thoroughly enjoyed this and couldn't put it down. I'd like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for gifting me an ARC of this book, TY.

I have liked all of the Monkeewrench books and this did not disappoint! I like the feel of family and working together found within the Monkeewrench and Minneapolis Police Department. The humor along the way is appreciated with the suspense. Good characters and good story.

Ice Cold Heart is the tenth book in this series and the first I have read I. This series. It is a fantastic book and could be read as a standalone, but I still think I was missing some information. Well written and great characters.I will go back and read the rest of the series.

I enjoyed this latest in the Monkeewrench series in spite of it's being about a very bad man holding women in captivity, which is a trope I'm very tired of. The writing was strong, the characters are developing interestingly, and a new woman character (I hope she returns) was very well drawn. The plot was good, the villain not impossible to spot but still a surprise. It's good to see this series continuing without losing energy.

What a great installment in the Monkeywrench series! I was saddened by the death of one of the writers of these books. But was glad to see that the book still had the same feel and freshness. This is the tenth book in the series. Magozzi and Grace have their baby and seem to be happy in the family life. I liked that all the Monkeywrench characters were in this book We see Roadrunner maybe find some happiness.
Magozzi and Gino catch a brutal murder which turn out to be very complicated.
The writing is fresh and well done. I have read all the books in the series and this one does not disappoint. Thank you, Net Galley,

Book 10 in the Monkeewrench series is a thriller not to be missed. Usually when a series goes this long one would think the excitement of the read is not as enticing as the first few. This is not the case for P. J. Tracy! Great read.

Another brilliant entry in the Monkeewrench series which is still amazingly good after ten books. The characters are like old friends now and I look forward to every meeting with them.
Magozzi and Grace have their baby girl now and have taken to parenthood with ease. The Monkeewrench team are as usual except Roadrunner who breaks out of character after he meets a woman! Who would have thought:) We see a lot of the team in action in this story which is always a good thing.
Meanwhile Magozzi and Gino are called to investigate a particularly nasty murder and slowly find that their search for the killer is somehow entwined with the Monkeewrench team's financial investigations. Then of course there is a dramatic finale with last minute rescues and lot of bullets flying around.
I thoroughly enjoyed it all and hope for many more of these books in the future!

I love this author. I am so glad she has continued this series. I love all of the characters. This book was full of suspense. I highly recommend this book!

This was my first P.J. Tracy book but it won't be the last. The story engaged me from the very start and kept me enthralled until the very end.
The weather and the case chill Detectives Magozzi and Rolseth to their core, and as the tension mounts they know neither is ready to break. There were a number of different crimes being investigated all of which seemed very different to begin with but gradually the realisation that there was a link brought all the different teams together. The Monkeewrench side was detailed but not to the point of confusion, instead I found it fascinating. The humour was first class, gallows of course, but clever and actually funny.
The characters were engaging, and although there seemed to be quite a lot of them to start with they all fell into place and were all necessary for the story to work so well. There was also just enough off the job detail to make the two main detectives even more personable than they were when working together.
I was able to read an advanced copy of this book thanks to Netgalley and the publishers in exchange for an unbiased review and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys first class mystery writing, it's one of the best books I've read this year.
