If you are looking for a business book to help set up a new business or grown one you already have established, this book is for you. Boss up! is full of actual tasks and questions to ask yourself while working on your business. I love the pro tips part of the chapters. This is a definite must read and a great book to add to your collection of business books. This is my honest review after receiving a complementary copy from Thomas Nelson thru NetGalley.

This book was a very quick and entertaining read. I was worried that it would be too focused on MLMs (since that is where Lindsay's business is), but it had a lot of good information for those who are interested in starting/growing their own business. I appreciated all of the different stories and encouragement that were found throughout the whole book. She gives you a nice little push to start pursuing the things you would like to pursue, with a healthy dose of motivation and confidence. Overall, a pretty good read.

I received an advanced electronic copy in exchange for my honest review.

After making millions selling essential oils, Lindsay Teague Moreno found her true passion in life was to inspire female entrepreneurs. In her new book, she takes the lesson she learned as a serial entrepreneur to share her 10 successful philosophies to help other mothers realize their dreams.

What I first fell in love with was her discussion on finding your thing and thinking long-term. She perfectly explains how to figure out what you want to do and how to think ahead towards scaling up to a multimillion-dollar company. I took pages of notes on these topics, and I think my business will be better for it.

After that, many of her success philosophies get more into ideals than actual items. I'm a checklist kind of girl, so I grew tired of the vagueness and would have loved a bit more concrete "Go get them" attitude. All in all, a decent starting point for female entrepreneurs (moms or not) that definitely gave me some great ideas for my own blog.

I would argue with the subtitle of this book, "This Ain"t Your Mama's Business Book" because I am the "Mama"! I am 59 years old and building a business. As an entrepreneur, the advice in this book is spot on! The philosophical advice that Lindsey gives is for all ages. Choose to be positive and stop apologizing for who you are! This is advice that everyone needs, not just young women! If you are young, or mature if you deal with people in any way then Boss Up! is definitely the book you need to read to propel you to success!!!

This is NOT your mama’s business book but it functions more like a workbook. Lindsay takes you on a reflective journey, step by step to answer questions to build YOUR business. I love that this book is really designed to be used -- written in, dog eared, highlighted, and referenced very practical guide.

While Lindsay writes from her experience as a momentrepreneur, the questions are good for anyone but especially women. The book is sprinkled with hilarious stories and commentary from Lindsay -- if you have had the chance to hear her speak, you will "hear" her throughout the words on the page.

Have a dream? Want to start a business or just build on what you have? Feel nervous, unsure and insecure? What you need is a little direction mixed with some tough love and that is just what Lindsay Teague Moreno does in her newest business book "Boss Up!"
Boss Up! is a little like sitting down with a good friend and asking her to "give it to you straight"...and she does. And then some. Lindsay lays it all out there about where she came from and where she is going- from her passion, ambitions, dreams, goals and the sacrifices she made because she knew what she wanted was possible. She never misleads you to think the life of an entrepreneur is easy - but she makes you believe it is possible. As a mom herself, she knows what it's like to push your dreams aside "for the family" AND she knows it does not have to be like that. She makes no apologies for working hard or being a working mom. (Because somewhere along the line, people made working moms feel like they HAD to apologize?!)
This book is not just a bunch of pep talks- it's tangible advice with real direction, action steps including a self-assessment and personal narratives on her own journey. It's encouraging, inspiring and motivational.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Lindsay for an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of Lindsey Teague Moreno's book Boss Up! : This Ain’t Your Mama’s Business Book from NetGalley.

This book is meant for 'momtrepreneurs'' but can also be of assistance for anyone starting a small business. Lindsey shares from her experiences in her current home-based business, as well as previous businesses. She invites the reader to dig deep into what 'your thing' is and to start from there. Most importantly she advises you to be your authentic self, which I am in total agreement with. Who wants to see cookie-cutter when you're in business? She shares her success philosophy, tips for social media marketing and other pertinent topics for anyone who's their own boss.

Lindsey's voice in this book is like she's talking to a girlfriend at a local coffee shop. She is real, to the point and gives the information to you straightforward. This book was a quick, enjoyable read and I highlighted many nuggets of wisdom throughout the book. I wish I could share more about the book here, but since it hasn't been released yet I don't want to include any 'spoilers.' You won't be disappointed!!!

Will be using this for an upcoming review. I enjoyed Lindsay's story, and it didn't come off like every other business book. It has actionable advise.

I absolutely loved this book! I had never heard of it before this and now I would recommend it to everyone. It reminded me of Rachel Hollis's "Girl, Stop Apologizing". Very inspiring and I enjoyed learning about Lindsay's life.

Lindsay has an incredible capacity to lower her walls and let you into her most intimate moments as if you are living them yourself. Sprinkling her inner monologue throughout the chapters gave this entire book a unique and enjoyable vibe. We all have these little thoughts, it’s enticing to get a glimpse of Lindsay’s. Experiencing the path she had to navigate because of hard circumstances bolstered my understanding of her drive to succeed on a deeper level. I appreciate people’s motives and actions more when I know some of the reasons behind them. Knowing her background makes me even more motivated to use the tools she provides to learn about myself so I can advance my business to new heights. I appreciate that Lindsay walks you though the steps to build a strong foundation for your business plus gives examples helping you narrow ideas down. This is without a doubt worth the read!! I would recommend getting the actual book (pre-order for now) for reference back to the exercises provided and what thoughts you wrote down. I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned about myself and the detailed techniques to get the most out of myself and my business.

I was provided an advanced reader copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. Can’t wait to get my hands on a printed copy once released.

I really enjoyed this book on business management from Lindsay Teague Moreno. I was not familiar with her businesses or other book, but I am glad I took a chance and read "Boss Up!" I work in the non profit sector and there was a lot of advice that I ended up highlighting for use in the way I handle projects, etc at work. I also found myself highlighting sections for my own personal use.

Moreno has a friendly, honest and funny way of speaking to her audience. While I am not a "mompreneur " ( as Teague lovingly calls her tribe), I felt included and encouraged by the steps that were practical and useful, thanks to Teague's sharing her missteps and victories in the book. Each chapter brings the reader back around to the reason they began their work/business and then gives the how to continue growth and expansion.

Teague is affable, vulnerable and at times, I found myself laughing out loud at her wit. She also is very much a truth teller, even when it hurts. There were hilarious stories of her parenting journey and how it applies to her business life, which I could relate to! There is a lot of sage business advice, amidst the laughter and the challenges of Lindsay's life, which means it can reach across age groups or stages of business growth.

This book is helpful for women who straddle the line between business and home, attempting to balance it all. The truth is, we are all learning and trying the best we can to make our businesses successful, and that requires a will to learn, opportunities for growth, and encouragement to persevere. You will find that in "Boss Up!" This is a real world, honest gut punch to those who think running and maintaining a healthy business is easy--it requires a great deal of commitment and grit to see a return on your investment.

While I wasn't specifically the target market for this book, I learned a lot and was excited to be a part of the launch team for this book, thanks to Thomas Nelson publishers. All opinions are my own and I chose to leave a review.

Although geared toward moms with children in the home, this stay-at-home Gigi found Boss Up! inspiring with activities to help me zone in on my purpose. One minute you will be laughing, the next crying, and then deep into soul searching. Lindsay lays it all out for those wanting entrepreneurship. Thanks Netgalley for the digital pre-released copy!

Lindsay Teague Moreno was wonderful!! With this book, she has a way with words that makes you want to get up in the morning and just dominate. Staying true to herself she gives hard truths that people need to hear if they are starting their own businesses. If you are looking to start or grow your business, her experience are a great jumping off point.

4 chapters in and I am HOOKED! I am so happy to have gotten my hands on this advanced copy as part of the launch team, because oh my gosh, this book is FIRE!
First, like in every piece of content she puts out into the world, Lindsay gives us her. Authentic, flawed, funny, real, fabulous her. And I am loving it.
Second, she has so much experience and is willing to share it, just for the sake of empowering more women to reach for their dreams.
I've personally pre-ordered 2 copies of this book. The first I put through Amazon when I saw it was available for pre-order. Then I heard she was releasing a special edition for Barnes and Noble with bonus material I just know I need to get my hands on.
I'm taking pages of notes already and am so ecstatic to get the hard copy in my hands to reinforce everything I'm getting now--because i will be re-reading this gem!!!

Edit: I finished this book and I cannot wait to get the hard copy. Just like the first few chapters, the entire book is filled with Lindsay's style of funny authenticity coupled with her experiences with what has worked, what hasn't worked, and most importantly WHY. Why we should be listening to her. Why we should be paying attention.
Honestly, if you are looking to build any sort of business whatsoever, you need to add this book to your library. I have pages of notes in my permanent notebook that I plan to go back and reference time and again.

Lindsay Teague Moreno has done it again! With this book, she has reignited my entrepreneurial spark. Staying true to herself and to her brand, she gives practical, supportive advice AND cold, hard truths. If you are looking to start or grow your business, her insights and experience are a great jumping off point. You have the ability to build your business to be exactly what you want it to be.

Side note: As part of the launch team for LTM’s newest book, I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

I was fortunate to be selected as part of the launch team and read a pre-publication copy of the book from NetGallery.

I'm not a fan of the terms #momboss or #momtrepreneur because I believe we should not be judged by gender. I'm also enough of a realist to know, the world doesn't work that way. Now that my bias is on the table, I can feel comfortable reviewing the book.

I have followed LTM for a few years, I read her earlier book, have heard her speak at a convention, and listened to her podcast. What you see is what you get.

I find her sense of humor and no nonsense approach to business refreshing. As someone who has managed in the corporate world, participated in several direct sales businesses, and started my own company, I found something for everyone, and not just mom's.

I most appreciated the questions and activities and wish I had thought about many of those things when I founded my company. I'm excited to go back and complete the work.

Is this book perfect? No, but neither is life. If you can read the book and walk away with just three actionable items, I think you will feel it was worth the investment.
