Celebrations Around the World is a vibrant informative trip around the world. My young students were eager to expand their learning about each celebration with more research. They loved the detailed illustrations and the rolling flow of the book. Children will be introduced to many new celebrations, giving adults plenty of opportunities to discuss similarities and differences.

A nice introduction to a small variety of celebrations. Just a little bit about each, not very descriptive just enough to get an idea. Nice illustration spanning the two pages per celebration.

A great book about celebrations all over the world! This really is pretty comprehensive and inclusive for a children's book. The illustrations are great, really like the artwork. I was impressed with the range of holidays and celebrations included and the little snippets of information are just right for kids to understand. I would highly recommend this book and cannot wait to own the hard copy. Thank you to DK publishers for an advance copy.

This book for young readers includes facts about 25 holidays. Some of the celebrations are secular or national (Thanksgiving, July 4th, Bastille Day, Groundhog Day, Anzac Day), while others are religious (Easter, Rosh Hashana, Christmas, Hannukah, Eid al Fitr). In addition to the holidays and celebrations just mentioned this book features fourteen additional days to remember. Throughout the illustrations are whimsical, bright and engaging.

This book will be a good addition to the school library shelves. It is broadly based with holidays from all over the world including China, Japan, India, Africa and more.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley. I enjoyed celebrating with you.

When my daughter was younger, I used to try to celebrate holidays we were unfamiliar with. It is fun to try to make the foods, and enjoy the activities of other cultures. To this day, she still knows how to make latkes and challah.

My point being, that as travel broadens the mind, so does information, and this book is a delighful introduction to celebrations from around the world.

It makes for a wonderufl stepping stone for children to go on and disvoer more about each celebration, and if they are luck y enough to live in a diverse community, they might even know someone who celebrates these self-same holidays.

There were a few odd choices, thrown in, such as the 4th of July and Bastille day, but they too are holidays. I also found it odd that the Hungry Ghost festival, which is an August holiday, was stuck in with Halloween. I was glad that Day of the Dead got its own spread, but found it odd that they included parades as a way of celebrating, when that is a new feature, and until recently, there were no parades.

All in all, though a terrific introduciton to what people celebrate.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.

I recieved this advanced reader copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

This book is so wonderfully done! The illustrations are so vibrant and representative of the cultures depicted. This book isn’t just about the holidays that are normally spoken about (ie: New Years, Christmas, Easter) but it also teaches about holidays that are not usually talked about in the states (Holi, Diwali, Las Fallas, Eid al Fitr, Venice Regatta to name just a few) but also explains how each holiday is celebrated and why.

I can’t wait to use this book to teach my homeschooled children about different cultures and holidays we haven’t heard of yet.

This is a 5 star book!
