A moving story, that really breaks the heart as you keep turning the pages long into the night. Well written.

Very thought felt book. Easy to read. Well written. Definitely a winner for this year. One definitely to be read

I received an ARC on this from NetGalley. I really tried to read this book but there seemed to be a lot of telling small details over and over. I found myself skipping several pages because it seemed repetitive and i eventually just stopped reading.

Thank you to netgalley and the published/author for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

As other reviews say, it missed its mark. Poor writing. Hard to read due to that.

Very sad story but enjoyed it none the less. I am not sure if its just my kindle but the text was a bit weird in certain parts of the book.

I really enjoyed this book from the start and it sort of reminded me of Not without my daughter in a way. I liked how this whole story is written towards the daughters mentioning "your father" and ways like that, it was almost like a letter to the daughters detailing their mothers history and struggles of the terrible event that took place. The story started out like a fairy tale. I think that was another thing that I really enjoyed, because it was written like a letter it was nice to see the mother not vilify the father and talk about the good that they did have together and what made her fall in love with I'm in the first place. It wasn't long before she talks about her
husband cheating and the inappropriate relationship that he developed with an underage girl. Things go from bad to worse because after the cheating comes the abuse. That is when the father decides to take the girls for a three week vacation, which turns out to be a seventeen year separation. This book was very easy to read despite the sad content and I found every chapter very compelling it just drew me into the next one and before I knew it I had finished the whole book. Half way through the book i'm not sure what happened but I found the words to sort of blend together and it couldn't seem to hold my interested. Great book in the beginning I just wish that the end part was just as strong as the first half. Not a bad book I am glad I got the chance to check it out I just wish that the end was a little better.

This story reads like fiction, but unfortunately it is true. The author's pain at the lost years with her children comes across via her writing style. This was an interesting and heartbreaking read.

Just ok. Not a favorite.

Thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free, it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.
