'The Smurfs #25: The Gambling Smurfs' with story and art by Peyo is a graphic novel that tells what happens when the Smurfs learn bad things from humans.

When some of the Smurfs are sent to the village to get some things, they observe the humans wagering. It manages to follow them home and causes havoc until Papa Smurf has to end it. When another threat emerges, they may have to ask their biggest enemy for help.

This was a fun story that kept escalating to a crescendo. The Smurfs are always a good read.

I really enjoyed reading Gambling Smurfs. A good tale was told here, one with an important lesson. Smurf village sure became a mad house once this craze hit the village. Papa Smurf had no idea what to do to get it under control. When their forest became threatened an uneasy alliance had to be made to save it. As this adventure came to a close they did learn a lesson and were going to be sure to stay away from gambling from now on. Fans of the Smurfs should have a lot of fun reading this graphic novel.

I've never read any of the Smurfs comics, so I wasn't quite sure of what to expect. It was just okay for me. Gambling doesn't seem like smurfy thing to do, but apparently it is. I had expected a bit more humor. It's much more apparent in print than on TV just how much they Smurfs use the word "Smurf." I think in the future I'll stick to watching the cartoon reruns.

Entertaining comic about the beloved Smurfs. Until I saw this ARC, didn't realize that comics were still being made. Found it very entertaining and humorous to see Smurfs learning how to gamble - who would have thought!

Enjoyable!

Everyone loves smurfs, but who knew that they would learn to gamble. That isn't very smurfy of them, what will be next for them to learn in the modern world. HAHA.

This was a cute one but not very funny? The plotline was great, character antics wonderful and the sketches were amazing! I just felt that the word Smurf was so overused that I got annoyed with it.
Otherwise it did make me smile a lot but if crack out laughing funny is what the book is going for it missed it's mark. Then maybe it's just better suited for younger readers.

This comic is a story about the always-beloved Smurfs. When the Smurfs discover gambling, they dive in enthusiastically. Whether it's dice rolling, snail races, or anything they can think of to enjoy their new hobby. Will the Smurfs learn that gambling can be dangerous? Read this fun comic book to find out -it's smurfing great!

In this book of the Smurfs, they get caught up in the world of gambling. Before long, the whole village is hooked on gambling and something has to be done. This is a cute graphic novel of the Smurfs that took me back to my childhood watching them on Saturday mornings.
I enjoyed this story but would have been more pleased to have seen it in color, Especially when the smurf’s little world is meant to be blue! I still had fun with it though...
Thank you to Papercutz and NetGalley for this advanced copy!

ARC Copy...confused over is this a continuation or re-publishing of Peyo's works however I found the aesop to be on the "one-handed" side...yes gambling is bad but still the narrative reminded of the delights of the smurfs I enjoyed as a child.
