Gwen is being stalked by someone that knows about her past and is blackmailing her, she goes to the only person she knows she can trust, Simon Forrest. Simon left her and became a Navy SEAL, and is working for Wilde Securities, the best protection agency in the business. But the person stalking Gwen is someone close to her on set. It was fun watching two people that knew each other as teenagers realize that what they had even back then was real. I would get an idea of who is behind the tormenting but then Cynthia would throw me for a loop and I was back to not being sure again. I thought it was funny that everyone had a crush on Gwen as a celebrity, and not really giving Simon any room until he got growly. It was a good romance and a great addition to the series, although, unfortunately I have to say Protecting Piper was better. But I still really enjoyed Guarding Gwen and these characters. Another win for Cynthia!

Simon's turn! We learn his background and the woman that he left behind, Gwen, who is now a big movie star. Gwen goes to Wilde Security when she gets threatening letters and is getting blackmailed.

There is lots of action as Gwen has several attempts on her life and the people that seem to be the culprit turn up dead. All along, others keep mentioning that Gwen is a great actress and seem to doubt that she is the victim and could be responsible for the attacks. Yet, Simon is not going along with that!

I did not see who the real mastermind was so it was a surprise when the culprit was revealed.

I loved that we got to see Eric and Ben and that book three will be with Ben!

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, Boom you're wrong. I love a great suspense book that keeps you guessing. Guarding Gwen, is an awesome.book!

4.5 - "I’ll be watching you…" Stars!

Following on from Protecting Piper we return to Wilde Securities for a second romantically suspenseful adventure, and this time it’s VP and all round bad-ass; Simon Forrest, looking to keep his first (and only) love safe from a stalker.

The intervening years have been good to Gwen Soloman, well known actress and film star, her life is spent in the public eye, something that doesn’t always draw the right kind of attention…

The rebuilding of a broken relationship, plays out around the expected suspense plot in this one, the stalker knows more about Gwen than is public knowledge, and as the story progresses it turns out there are things in her past that even Simon wasn’t aware of. The finger of suspicion points to pretty much everyone else at points in the telling of the story, and as expected the author kept me on my toes until the final couple of chapters.

Loved Guarding Gwen, Cynthia Eden doesn’t write a bad book, and I am looking forward to seeing Ben Wilde get his HEA in Before Ben releasing at the end of April.

Wow am I loving this series! Eden isn't just some one who writes for a living. She's a storyteller. Its impossible not to fall into her books and stay there until the end! From her characters to her world building..she's one of the best. I can't wait for what comes next.

Exciting, sexy and steamy suspenseful romance is Guarding Gwen by Cynthia Eden. The second in the series, there is again the signature alpha but also strong female who is in trouble. This is a classic Cynthia Eden story. Fans will love Gwen and Simon together. They have a past but it the present danger that brings them together.

The Hollywood background and stalker are well played against the new leading man in Gwen’s life. No actor but big, bad and deadly is determined to protect Gwen at all costs. Secrets, doubts, trust issues are part of this amazing story that proves it is impossible for Gwen and Simon to remain apart.

I have never read Cynthia Eden before so I had no idea what to expect, which is always exciting. Finding new authors and stories to enjoy is always a treat.
And I really enjoyed it. It was well written and the characters grabbed your attention and took you along with them. The storyline was interesting and full of action and the steamy romance and tension between them made it a home run! A five star read that I recommend to anyone who enjoys romance with a touch of action and suspense to add that little something extra. This is a story set in a world with another story before it, but I honestly did not feel like you have to read it first, or at all. Though I am going to read it as well as the next one.

One word to describe this book? Perfection!
I loved everything about it. The suspense, the romance, The team of bodyguards and friends. Love, love, love everything! Nothing to complain!
Simon and Gwen are an amazing couple. I loved Simon protectiveness for Gwen. His possessiveness and more importantly his love!
I can’t wait to read what this author has in store for us! Bring it on Ms Eden, I’m so ready!

Holy heck! This was one INTENSE read! Man oh man! Serious book hangover alert!

Simon left Gwen to join the SEALs, to make something of himself. It ripped his heart apart and when he came back, she had moved away, and moved on. Now, she’s suddenly shown up and is need of his help and if there is anything in this world he was made for it is to guard Gwen, to protect her, to love her.

Gwen was destroyed when Simon left but even more so when tragedy strikes. She thought her past was left behind as she rose in the ranks of Hollywood’s actresses but now someone is stalking her. Living in fear, she knows there is only one man that can help her. Even if that man did walk away from her and never looked back.

”That’s the thing about you. Always wanting to be the hero. The protector. No one in my life wanted to protect me, not until you. And you’re still doing it, aren’t you? The first time I have trouble, I came running to you.”

Talk about your protective alpha heroes! Simon has surged to the top of my favorite all time hero. While both he and Gwen were with other during their time apart, there is never a doubt that she has held his heart throughout the years. Every reason for their not being together was acceptable and believable without feeling contrived. He was so freaking protective of her with a wonderful dash of jealousy that made me giggle, but more importantly, his heart was so full of Gwen that I ached at the years they had been separated.

”I’m the guy that you come to when you need sh!t taken care of. You want a body hidden? I’ll bury it. You want me to take down the bastard hurting you? I’ll destroy him. Ride of f@cking die, that’s what I am to you. I will never choose anyone over you. And I won’t make the same mistakes again this time. You can count on it.”

While Gwen was vulnerable and scared, she knew what she wanted and she wanted Simon. She set him straight on quite a few occasions just how things were going to go in their relationship. With each deadly turn even while her fear escalated, she learned that Simon wasn’t going to turn his back on her. She needed that assurance and I loved that he did it flawlessly.

This book had such an incredible fast pace and so much action that before I knew it I had read the whole thing in one sitting. The fact that I was completely consumed by these characters helped to hold my attention. Add in that I never had a freaking clue who the bad guy was or where the next evil incident would pop up and there was no way I was closing my Kindle. I’m seriously giddy from the adrenaline of this read and heady with the pure joy this book delivered, so yeah…I’m totally recommending this to everyone!

I liked this book even better than the first book in this series. Simon is a big growly bear who is probably best avoided, but he is the only person in the world Gwen believes she can trust. They have a past that gets in the way of the present, but will they let it run their future? Simon is happy to have her back in his life, but while Gwen trusts him with her life, her heart is another matter. She needs time, and Simon will have to keep a stalker at bay in order to give it to her.

The plot was believable and moved quickly. The chemistry was certainly not lacking, and the action/suspense element was spot on. This was a great example of why Cynthia Eden is one of my favorites.

Nobody does romantic suspense like Cynthia Eden. Guarding Gwen if full of twists and turns and thrilling suspense, and one alpha hero to die for! Simon was dark, brooding, sexy and protective, who doesn’t love that? Another fabulous story by an amazing author. You won’t be able to put it down.

Simon and Gwen were teen lovers with their whole lives ahead of them but their love wasn't enough. Simon knew he didn't have anything to offer Gwen, so he joined the Navy with plans on coming back to be with her later. Fast forward several years and Gwen is a movie star with a serious stalker. She's scared and desperate and wants to hire Simon, VP of a Security Firm, to keep her safe. He once told her he'd do anything for her, even kill. What she doesn't expect is how much she still cares for him. Simon has never gotten over Gwen either and their relationship becomes intense again immediately. The stalker is determined to make Gwen pay and take Simon out for good. Lots of romantic suspense, action, and red hot romance, make this a read I couldn't put down once I started it.

Simon is willing to go to the extremes, “so, sweetheart,” Simon finally drawled, “who is it that you want me to kill?” Simon is real sweet on his girl, "another kiss. Even more tender than the last. “Anything you want, baby. Anything you want.” I liked this book, I loved Simon.
