I've Got You, Babe is a heart-warming delight! Two people who have been put through the mud, have a second chance in life to be happy. From the second Tucker starts interacting with little Daisy, my heart was a goner. I love the brave, strong front Elisa and Tucker both put on, but you can feel their underlying pain and struggles through the page. A very enjoyable romance that'll bring a few tears and laughter into your life!

This is the second book in Must Love Babies book series and although I didn't read Book #1 I didn't have any problems with reading this as a standalone, but I may have to read the first one if it's as good as this one. If you're looking for a heartwarming, emotional, sweet read, look no more -- this was very enjoyable, well-developed plot with interesting characters, not to mention that the survival's guilt angle was very thought-provoking. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

4.5 Stars!

What a well-written novel from author Lynnette Austin. I've Got You Babe entices you right from the first chapter and the engaging plot never loses its momentum. The three primary characters, librarian Elisa Danvers, her three year old daughter Daisy, and former Marine Tucker Wylder, the co-owner of a vintage car restoration business, accidentally find their together forever. Their journey to become a family is replete with desire, trust and forgiveness. This is the second book from the author's Bachelors and Babies series and it can be enjoyed as a standalone.

After losing her job due to budget constraints, Elisa and Daisy are traveling north to her uncaring mother's non-lived-in condo. She is deeply in debt, hungry, and needs a place to live. Unfortunately, Elisa has no support system. Always putting her daughter's needs ahead of her own, she passes out immediately after seeking help from Tucker regarding her beater of a car. Although Tucker prefers his quiet and solitary life, while dealing with his demons from a deployment gone wrong, he feels compelled to give Elisa and Daisy a place to stay while Elisa recovers. Overtime, they form a family.

This is an intoxicating small town romance with a meaningful plot and well-defined characters. Ms. Austin is an excellent storyteller and her words kept me glued to edge of my seat. Daisy is beyond cute, and I could not help loving her character. Elisa and Tucker pack a lot of heat, even though their sexy times are primarily behind closed doors. If you enjoy a novel with a strong heroine and a man that truly defines the word hero, then check out this book. Overall, this is an exciting story that twists and turns in all the right places.

Tucker and his two brothers owned Wylder Rides. Tucker desperately needed the fishing trip he was about to go on. He liked the quiet and peace in the early morning. The solitude before his two brothers arrived. He had unlocked the front doors of Wylder Rides- that restored vintage cars and motorcycles . In five days a Hollywood executive would be there to pick up his 63 Corvette after the frame off restoration was done. Tucker dropped to the creeper and got beneath the Corvette and got busy replacing the brake lines. Than Tucker heard a car pull in out front, it’s muffler was shot, the engine knocked, coughed and sputtered, then shut down with a rattle. Then he glanced at the front of the bay and saw a pair of legs that anyone, him included would drool over. Than he sat up and saw a woman who was beautiful and she said” my car-”and Tucker said” could use some work.” He got to his feet and said h this shop wasn’t a regular repair shop. But he could probably figure out what was wrong. If it was minor, he’d take care of it. Otherwise she’d better head into town to Robbie’s Garage or Robbie could bring his tow truck to pick her and the car up. Robbie was fair and would do right by her. Than the woman passed out tucker got to her before she hit the floor. Where were his brothers now? What was Tucker suppose to do with an unconscious woman? Then he heard a high wail and a little girl was strapped into a child’s seat. Misty Bottoms had no hospital or urgent care center. He tried again to wake the woman but she didn’t come to. Tucker called the sheriff to have an ambulance sent to his garage, He talked to the little girl, and cleaned her up a little and got her out of her seat. She said she wanted her mommy. When he got to the woman she was sitting up and told him to give her the little girl. The woman was Elise danvers. He met incredible troubled eyes and there was something almost magical that drew a man in. She had been pushing to get to her mother's empty condo instead of stopping to have a good breakfast. Tucker introduced his brothers-Brant and Gaven- to Elise. Elise thought thank god for the man and his fast actions so she didn’t hit the floor and he sort of took care of her daughter Daisy. The EMT told tuck to bring the little girl with him to Doc hawkins. Tucker made the mistake of looking into Elise’s eyes and seeing the frustration, worry, and more than a little desperation. Tucker than said it would be okay he’d take daisy and they'd be right behind her to the doctors. He said he realized Elise didn’t know him from Adam but these guys did . otherwise they wouldn’t trust him with her daughter. Tucker said he’d take Elise and daisy to his house when they realized there was nowhere in town for her to stay because of a wedding. He had plenty of room. Than after he thought what was he going to do with a kid and her sick mother. Throw in his nighttime habits and that spelled trouble. The doctor asked why he’d take Elise, not knowing her and Tucker answered he had some play it forward to do and he might as well start here. . The doctor said Elise could not drive. Tuckers gut screamed abort, the mission had gone south. Instead he asked the doctor what time he needed Elsie there the next day for more testing. Elise had worked at a library in Bowden until budget cuts forced her out of her job. She had no way to get a hold of her mother, last she heard her mother was in a remote part of Mexico to unearth relics from the past, relics she cared more for than the wellbeing of her daughter or granddaughter. That’s the way it always had been. Her father was unavailable, physically and emotionally. Luke- daisy’s dad had walked out on her. Daisy was born with a hole in her heart and the doctor hoped it would close on its own.
I loved this book. It was such a great read I didn’t want to put it down. I loved Tucker and Elise and how they interacted.Daisy added so much to this book I absolutely loved her. I loved how the author showed and handled tucker’s survival guilt from how he survived when his friends didn’t when he was a marine. I loved the mother Elise was and I loved how Tuck was with Daisy. I loved how close tuck and his family especially his brothers. I loved how warm and giving the town people were. I couldn’t find anything to criticize in this book-happily! A new favorite. I loved the plot and pace. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

4 Star review of I’ve Got You Babe (Bachelors & Babies #2) by Lynnette Austin

Sometimes all it takes is a word or a phrase jumping out from a blurb to reel you in. For me it was Misty Bottoms, Georgia.

This was a sweet romance between former Marine Tucker Wylder wants and single mum Elisa Danvers and her young daughter Daisy. Elisa is at the end of her rope with no-one she can depend on, until Tucker takes them under his protection.

The characters were likeable and easy to relate too and Daisy just about melted my heart on occasion. There were times that I thought my face would crack from the smiles and then there were times that it made me tear up.

The relationship that built between Tucker and Daisy was so heartwarming and made me smile.

A heart warming story that will surely tug on your emotions. Will Tucker and Elisa be able to put their pasts behind them and take a chance at happiness or are these lost and damaged souls destined to be alone forever?

Small town romances are so good. Misty Bottoms sounds like an idyllic place to live and raise children. This was emotional with both characters having a lot of baggage, but they survive beautifully, after some soul searching, some rocky parts and letting go of pasts that cannot be changed. Loved Tucker, demons, OCD and all lol, how he made it thru changes and fell in love with Daisy and her beautiful and courageous Mommy, Elisa. Mostly, a feel good romance with a bit of a scare when Daisy has to have emergency surgery.
Cast of characters was quite eclectic, they were always quick to help out tho and Elisa was in awe as she'd never had someone who cared enough about her, that is just part of small town goodness.
Great story, it did read just a bit slow in places, but I still enjoyed it.
I received an advance readers' copy and am giving my opinions voluntarily

Down on her luck, Elisa literally lands into Tucker’s arms. One thing leads to another and she and her daughter, Daisy, are staying with him at his house. They make his house a home.
Overall, I did enjoy this one, but several parts were a bit slow for me. Or maybe they were dragged out too much. I’m not sure.
Would I read it again??? No.
It was a sweet story though.

**My thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the second book I have read by this author, the second book in the series, and I am not disappointed.

We get to see a little of the previous book couple Brant and Molly, however we do get to see more characters involved which is nice. Desdi is certainly quite a character and you cannot help but love her.

Tucker is former military and has not yet gotten over the death of his friends and team before he came out of the miliary and struggles especially at night time. It is only when his world is upended when Elisa collapses in his garage.

Elisa is very much down on her luck and when she finds herself out of a job and out of her home she packes up her daughter Daisy Elisabeth and they head out for Charlston, however they never get there.

Both help each other out in ways that they did not see coming and it was lovely to see how everyone rallied around and helped not only Elisa and her daughter, but Tucker too.

I have been really enjoying this series and cannot wait until the third brother gets his happy ending.

I’ve Got You, Babe is the first book I’ve read by Lynette Austin, but it will not be the last! I am so glad I accepted the invitation from the publisher, via Net-Galley, to read and review. My opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way.

I thoroughly enjoyed this light-hearted romance with more depth than normally found in this type of novel. To be honest, I thought this would a fast read to while away a lazy afternoon with lively banner but very little substances. Wow, that was not the case!

Elisa Danvers is an engaging heroine with multiple layers. While she could have easily allowed her past heartache to color her world, she has pulled herself up by her bootstraps and is determined to give her adorable daughter, Daisy Elizabeth, the best life possible. She a truly nurturing character and this comes through in all her relationships, including her friendship with the hero.

Tucker Wylder’s character has a lot more depth than I expected. On the surface, he’s an easygoing guy, but underneath looms heartache. He’s returned to Misty Bottoms, Georgia after leaving the marines. Tucker had challenged his commanding officer, and the hard-ass confined him to base while sending his buddies on a hopeless mission. None of them survived. He suffers from a great deal of guilt and has horrific nightmares.

I loved Elisa’s gentle understanding and desire to help Tucker when she learns of his troubles at night. This is another example of her nurturing nature. While there is a strong attraction between the heroine and hero, the emotional connection is more important than the physical. I love that. It’s not to make light of the desire they feel, but for me, the emotional feelings needs to be there for love to blossom and flourish.

Daisy Elizabeth is an important secondary character and adds greatly to my overall enjoyment of this heartfelt romance. She is a pure delight. She takes to Tucker from the beginning when he cares for her after her mother faints at the beginning of this story. She clearly wants him to be her daddy!

Tucker is amazed over his strong urge to protect Daisy and her mother, but he can’t deny his developing feelings for the pair. Although he does run scared at one point, he cannot stay away long. I loved watching him battle his demons so he will be free to give his heart.

If you enjoy romances with plenty of heart and endearing characters, then you will love I’ve Got You, Babe as much as I did. I enjoyed it so much, I’ve already downloaded the Audible version of Must Love Babies, the first book in this delightful series. Happy reading!

Tucker Wylder owns Wylder Rides, a vintage car and motorcycle restoration business with his two brothers. They have five days to finish restoring a custom '63 Corvette for a Hollywood executive. Time to get the job done! Tucker is busy working, laying on the creeper partially under the Vette, when he hears a car approach and stop outside. It is too early for his brothers to start work so who can this be? Whoever it is needs a new car since what he hears is a dying car outside. Then he hears the sound of heels on the concrete floor and sees legs, the longest, sexiest legs which has him just about drooling. From there his gaze travels upward to view the "real deal," the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. As he starts to get up to question why this beauty is in his garage the woman, Elisa Danvers sways and starts falling. Tucker catches her just before she hits the floor. Now he has an unconscious woman on his hands and to add to the stress he hears a child crying in Elisa's car. What to do first? He makes the call to 911 to get an ambulance on the way. The child, three-year-old Daisy is crying for her Mommy. Tucker grits his teeth, what does he know about little girls, and drives little Daisy to the hospital. The cute little girl talks his ear off the whole way to the hospital and renames him "Tut." The wall around his heart starts to crack. What is he going to do with this cutest of little girls and her sick beautiful Mommy?

I've Got You, Babe by Lynnette Austin is the second book in her Must Love Babies series. This book features the oldest Wylder brother, ex-Marine Tucker Wylder. This is such a wonderful series and this second book continues the author's trip into the warm and friendly small town of Misty Bottoms, GA and the lives of the Wylder brothers. (This is also the setting for Austin's previous series, Magnolia Brides which I highly recommend.)

I can't say enough good things about this super story. The storyline is sweet, poignant and full of warmth. I smiled throughout as I read along also with many chuckles and guffaws. There were tears too on the way to Elisa's and Tucker's HEA. Lynnette Austin's characters are real and relatable. I fell in love with Elisa, Tucker and little Daisy. Elisa is so strong and determined to make a go of it even as she is down on her luck. Tucker is the big, bad, tough ex-Marine on the outside but it turns out he is soft and squishy on the inside with a heart of gold even with his issues from a deadly incident during his tour in Afghanistan. Then there's Daisy, the cutest, endearingly rambunctious, most precious little three-year-old girl that will steal your heart in a New York minute. Readers will laugh at her parroting the swear words Tut keeps letting slip. She will surely have you wrapped around her little finger just like "Tut." I loved this story and readers who enjoy small town romance with lots of warmth and laughter will too!

This is the first book that I have read by Lynnette Austin and it will not be the last! You will want to devour and savor this book all at the same time! Tucker needed both Elisa and Daisy just as they needed him. It was fun reading how tough Tucker fell for the mother and daughter duo.

This emotional, sweet and sexy second chance at happiness story that’s guaranteed to leave you swooning in the end. Don’t be fooled by the cover, this story brings the emotions and all the feels. Happy reading!!

The story of Tucker Wylder and Elisa Danvers is one that will touch your hearts.
Tucker, a former Marine, owns, with his brothers, a car and motorcycle restoration garage. He’s come back from the war a changed man. One that has isolated himself from everyone and is full of survivor’s guilt. Elisa, single mom to adorable Daisy, is down on her luck. When her car breaks down in front of the garage and ends up fainting in front of Tucker, they didn’t realize that their lives would change forever.
The plot is engaging and the characters perfect in their imperfections. At times you will laugh out loud, at others cry for the characters. Life has thrown them both curveballs in life and neither is sure how to survive their past. A past that has greatly influenced their present. When fate brings forward the unexpected, they will either let their budding love be shattered, or become stronger for it.
A wonderful story that you will remember for a very long time.
Can’t wait to see what else this talented author has in store for us.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Delightful! For me, a big improvement over "Must Love Babies."

Tuck and Elisa are both damaged and determined. Both are stubborn. . .to a fault! Overall, I enjoyed their banter throughout the book. Their brokenness led to their togetherness. Add in the adorable Daisy, and it's a feel-good story for everyone!

Nice to catch up with Brant and Molly. Looking forward to seeing what happens with Gaven!

I’ve Got You, Babe is a contemporary small town romance. Elisa, a single mom who is down on her luck, literally falls at Tucker’s feet. Tucker, a former Marine suffering from PTSD, catches her and can’t seem let her go. Add in a precious toddler named Daisy and the cutest town Misty Bottoms and you can’t help falling in love with this book.
The road for Tucker and Elisa isn’t smooth. They both have big issues to overcome-physically, mentally and spiritually. But the spark is there and neither can give up on the other despite these huge obstacles. They both realize they need to work on themselves and find their place, and both need to come to terms with accepting help. I liked seeing them grow individually and their relationship progress and deepen.
This story was a fast-paced, endearing, well written story about taking that second chance at life and love. This story resonates how it’s worth it to try to fight your demons and open your heart to another person. The characters were likable and relatable. Daisy is the cutest thing ever and I want a Desdemona! This story will definitely tug at your heartstrings.
This is the second installment in the Must Love Babies series. If can be read as a stand-alone as the author does a good job explaining the characters and backstory.
I requested an advanced copy of this title from #NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

This was such a sweet and romantic read. It is about a single mom and a former Marine. Both of them are dealing with things that have happened in their pasts and neither is looking for love. When they meet they have an instant connection. Reading their story for me was very emotional. For me this story was about two broken people who found the strength in each other to begin living their lives again. Seeing how Tucker fell in love with Elisa’s daughter Daisy filled my heart with so much love. This book was incredible and I cannot wait for the next book in this series. Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

October in Misty Bottoms, Georgia – the Present

The heat in his first summer in Georgia reminded Tucker Wylder of his duty as a Marine in the Middle East, and that memory always brings bad reactions. He and his brothers, Gaven and Brant, own Wydler Rides, a car and motorcycle restoration shop. Currently, they are working on restoring a ‘63 Corvette for a Hollywood executive. Tucker arrives at the garage before his brothers and starts replacing the brake lines on the Corvette. A car with engine troubles stops, and a blue-eyed woman enters the garage. While Tucker tells her where the nearest repair shop is, she passes out. Then he hears a child crying in the woman’s car. The little girl asks who he is. When he tells her, she calls him Tut. She tells him her name is Daisy Elizabeth. Misty Bottoms is a small community and Tucker knows the woman needs help. The ambulance he calls arrives, but they can’t take Daisy, so Tucker follows the ambulance to the town’s only physician, just to make sure Daisy stays with her mother.

Elise Danvers is in a bad place. When her husband learned their baby had a congenital heart problem, he abandoned her and Daisy. After leaving, he used Elise’s credit card to excess. When she lost her library job, she learned he had run the bill up so high she lost her grandmother’s house to foreclosure. Her mom and dad had never had time for her, but she was traveling to her mother’s empty house in Savannah for a place to stay until she could get reestablished. Now she is under a doctor’s care and can’t pay the bill. When the doctor waves away her bill, Elise first encounters the generous nature of the citizens of the small community of Misty Bottoms; then Tucker lets her recuperate at his house along with her now three-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

Tucker and Elise don’t think they will ever love anyone again. His first romance’s failure followed by his duty in the Middle East, and Elise’s experience with her ex, make them both leery of love. Yet talkative Daisy’s charm enchants Tucker. When Elise finally gets Tucker to talk of the war experience haunting him, she learns of a problem certain to keep them apart. I’VE GOT YOU BABE is a charming and heart-wrenching tale of second chances brought about by a little enchantress.

How on earth did it take me this long to read a Lynnette Austin romance novel!?!? The bad news is I’ve been missing out on great romance reads, but the good news is I can now binge read all of her previous novels!

I’ve Got You, Babe is a small town romance that warmed my heart! This is the second installment in the Must Love Babies series, but I had no problems jumping in here. I found the characters absolutely endearing— you can’t help but love the entire cast! I enjoyed that Lynnette Austin wrote a feel good, heartwarming novel that also had depth! I’ve Got You, Babe is a 4.5 star novel that will hook you from the first chapter! I’ve already 1-clicked the first novel in this series and I will definitely be reading every future installment!
