A suspense thriller told in two points of view, mother and daughter. This was definitely a page turner filled with suspense. I look forward to more by the author.

Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved the way the story is told from two characters perspectives. I was sucked in from page one & couldn’t put it down until the end.

Ιnteresting and well written story, found the begining and middle really interesting, but was disappointed towards the end thought that it was rushed and left the reader a bit misterfied neaded more polishing up a lot of unanswered questions.

Thank you to Net Galley and Sourcebooks for an ARC of this novel, which I loved. Thank goodness I started it Mother's Day eve, so I could read into the night and a lot of the next day. (I mean who doesn't want to spend Mother's Day reading?) As my own youngest is about to graduate I struggle, as Maggie does in this book, with letting her fly, and keeping a bit of a reign on her. To make things more complicated, Maggie is recently widowed, and the college granted on scholarship isn't the "college experience" everyone imagines. When he daughter goes missing, she'll leave no stone unturned to get the answers she needs. Narrated between the voice of the mother and the daughter, it keeps you reading to find out what the next piece of the plot will be. Highly recommended.

Kelly Simmons’s two main characters, Maggie and Emma, albeit annoying at times, are very likable. The main thread, throughout the book, is the strong bond between mother and daughter and the “stop at nothing” of a mother searching for her missing child. The plot is an interesting one, believable and disheartening. Sad commentary on humanity. The novel kept my interest peaked yet not in a way that I thought I would be surprised at the ending. Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Landmark for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

This book is so good! It’s one twist after another and very suspenseful. I really liked how the perspective shifted between the mom and daughter, giving insight into what both of them were going through. I highly recommend!

I liked "Where She Went," but I didn't love it. I thought it was good from the beginning to the middle, but then I kind of lost interest.

The story was told by alternating chapters. Emma is a college student, and Maggie is her mom. Emma goes missing and Maggie is desperate to find her.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

This book is essentially a work of women’s fiction wearing thriller clothes. Understandably so, since women driven thrillers are all the rage right now, but still…you can’t help but feel somewhat cheated. Not even a murder here. Just a very close knit mother/daughter unit rendered asunder by college and then thrown into an overdrive when the daughter goes missing. It even utilizes the stereotypical split narrative storyline, from both Maggie the mother and Emma the daughter. So the author makes every attempt to rev up the suspense, but as the story progresses, it becomes more and more obvious that it isn’t going to be some boombastic revelation, even the twists are mild as it spirals out to its fairly underwhelming, albeit women’s fiction appropriate all positive sort of ending. The thing is it isn’t a terrible book in any way, the writing is perfectly decent and the characters are likeable, especially surprising with Emma, since she’s only 18, but far from a typical college idiot kid. Maggie’s and Emma’s relationship is credible and compelling, which is of course huge, since the entire novel rests on that dynamic. And the author did a very good job of depicting the first year of college experience for a smart, but naïve kid. The novel is set appropriately enough in and around the city of brotherly something, presumably chosen for its innate seediness. Had this been advertised as women’s fiction or drama, it would have been just fine. But instead it stretches itself beyond its all too pleasant bounds into something it barely is. Maybe for fans of relatively lightweight thrillers with nothing too scary or murdery this would work. It even has a timely message, if that’s what you’re looking for in your genre reading. But then again it read quickly and it did entertain. So nothing special, but perfectly adequate and heavy on estrogen. Thanks Netgalley.

I thoroughly enjoyed this fast-paced mystery! Being a freshman in college is hard enough, but dealing with nasty roommates and chasing a serious story for the school newspaper would be hard for any young adult. I related to Maggie, Emma’s mom, who worked to find Emma at any cost.

I enjoyed the beginning of this book but then I lost interest, possibly because it was a bit too slow for me and I didn't like the characters.

Thank you to Netgalley and Source Books Landmark for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

Although I really enjoyed the beginning of this story, by the mail I was really losing interest. I was especially invested in the book because I am from Philadelphia and I recognized many of the streets and towns mentioned in the book. However this book was slow-moving, and somewhat unrealistic. A real struggle to finish. The mother in the story was unrealistic, unbelievable and downright annoying. I could only give this book to stars, but thank you for my advanced copy

I found it difficult to be fully invested in this story. The characters were not likeable and the end left too many loose ends.

Where She Went is a good thriller that I had to find out the ending. Well written and the characters are well written.

I had to keep reading this book to see what happened to the girl that disappeared from college. Another book by Kelly Simmons that hooks the reader in the first chapter! I would say this is her best book to date.
Absolutely unforgettable story about an overbearing mother whose daughter vanishes from school.. It makes one think about their own lives and their situation with their children.

I really thought this book would be a fast paced roller coaster ride, but it was fairly slow, and convoluted with too many things going on and not being tied up.

Neither of the main characters were very likeable, which made it hard to get invested. 2 stars.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book.

Aubrey witnesses a boy being kidnapped from a local park and immediately calls the police. Both Aubrey and the police are stymied, because no one has reported a child disappearing or being taken. Maybe Aubrey was mistaken? The police think so, and with nothing further to act on, their hands are tied. But Aubrey, a mother who no longer has primary custody of her own daughter, becomes obsessed with finding out what really happened. Aubrey is a great conflicted and multifaceted character with a questionable past, a real character that readers will identify with and cheer for
