I struggled reading this book. I haven’t read any of the previous books and didn’t realize how lost I would be for not reading the previous books. I also had a hard time with Promise. I understand the socially awkward part but still just couldn’t relate. I liked the plot one I started to figure it out.

Thanks you Netgalley and publishers for allowing me to read this.

Wowza! Another great Realm read. Understanding of the "Seven" was made clearer for me this round. It took me longer than the usual reader, sorry.I enjoyed how other characters from previous stories are brought in and we get caught up with what is happening with them. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Characters were hot, hot, hot! I truly can't wait for the next story in this series.

I was given this book to read, I am so lucky!!!! This is a continuation of Rebecca Zanetti's Dark Protector series, and it is another hit. Once I started I could not put it down, you meet old friends and enemies and new ones pop up, to add even more zest.. You can start with this book, Rebecca Zanetti is great at bringing you up to speed and if she is new to you any of her books are great.

I couldn't put this book down. Rebecca Zanetti has a loyal devoted reader with me. I found this series and haven't been able to stop reading them. I can't wait for the next installment! This is Ivar and Promise's story. Promise is a mathematical genius that may be able to help get Quade who has long been stuck in another demention back home. Ivar is the vampire/demon who has vowed to get him. Even though there is lots of math talk this barely able to add reader was able to follow along and stay interested... lol. Does Quade get back home?? Read the book and find out! If you like a fast paced page turning story with some very hot romance you won't be able to put it down either!!
When is the next installment coming!!???
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for granting me this read.... and special thanks to Rebecca Zanetti for taking me on this journey.....

This is the latest book in this long series and I kept wanting to like it so much more than I actually did. It was overall an enjoyable read and I was happy the two main characters found each other, but I kept getting distracted by elements of the story. In the beginning, there were times that Promise’s totally social ineptitude was way out of proportion to the rest of the story. Then there was the fact that Promise was supposedly all logic at the time, but decides to trust Ivar with almost no explanation after two kidnapping attempts. Then there was the nickname Missy, which is used often as an affectionate or disparaging form of address to a young girl. Then there was Ivar telling Adare to stop being bossy and get to know Grace while he had just told Promise to accept him as he was and do what he said. I believe nevertheless many people will love this book and accept it as it is, especially if they have been following along in the series from the beginning. I am very excited for future books and to learn how everything turns out.

I got my lucky little hands on the early release of this to review and man o man did I LOVE IT! RZ has a way of building worlds that completely suck you in. I was intrigued by Ivar since we met him, especially after his trip to the Hell worlds and this was everything we could want and then some. Ivar and Promise have an unconventional start, but their connection can’t be denied. We get some big world building here, and it only has piqued my interest for more, more on Quade, Haven and who will our darling Garrett end up with, will Grace and Adare accept their mating as more...I have all kinds of questions. For lovers of this series you will not be disappointed we get romance, comedy, peeks of old favorites(I see you Dage), some steamy moments, violence and battle and my personal favorite...new characters!

I can't get enough of Rebecca Zanetti! More Dark Protectors novels? Yes please! The effortless slide Rebecca has us gliding into her world is unparalleled. The stories she has gifted with continue to build a world i'm always looking for out of the side of my eye. Alpha's promise is no disappointment, by any means, and places her work up there with J.R. Ward, Sherrilyn Kenyon and many of the other greats of the industry. I can't wait for the next installment in the Dark Protectors and Realm Enforcers series.

This is book 10 in the Dark Protector's series and you absolutely have to read the previous books (or at least the last 2 for sure) in order to understand the larger story ARC that is going on. This one is about Ivar Kjeidsen and Promise Williams. Ivar is trying to keep his vow to go and rescue his brother after he saved him from the hell realm he was stuck in. In order to do that he needs the help of a physicist. Promise is one of the top physicist's but Ivar and the Seven are not the only people looking to figure out how to get to the prison of the hell realm's. Now it's a race to not only keep her safe but to get to his brother before it's too late.

I absolutely loved this one! Promise is one of those people where numbers and science make more sense to her than people and relationships. She doesn't always understand societal norms or how to even hold conversations with people. But I loved that about her! It makes her completely unique and different enough that you can't help but love her. Ivar has literally been through hell and is just trying to work his way back to not only sanity but what he believes is the right thing to do. Even at the expense of what could possibly be his one chance at happiness. And I absolutely loved that about him! I love that he isn't this perfect male with everything in his life completely together. And they just mesh together in a way that I loved. I couldn't put it down once I started it! And let me just say that I can't wait for the next one, after certain things happen I am not completely curious about a couple of characters stories!

Another outstanding addition to a much loved series. Zanetti proves again what a gifted storyteller she is. I can only think of a handful of authors that have the talent and passion to sustain a series and keep it fresh and engaging. Each book builds on the storyline, keeps old characters in play and delivers a story for new characters unlike what's come before. Love love this author!

This is an amazing book. I love all the Dark Protectors' book and every time I read a new one I think it's my favorite, and this one is the same. It's my new favorite!

With excitement and humor and emotional moments this is just the cream of the crop! What a wonderful book and such imaginative and loveable characters, it will keep you drawn in until the very last page and you will not want it to be finished. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Inter-dimensional excitement! Out of this world suspense! Supernatural romance!

Alpha’s Promise is Book 10 of a very engaging paranormal series where vampires, demons, and witches have always lived with extraordinary powers but are now of the verge of scientifically explaining how their magic works, with quantum physics, string theory and a whole lot of math!!

Saving the world in anonymity and waging immortal war while hiding from the unsuspecting humans has taken a toll. In brief, worlds from different dimensions are about to collide as a side effect of one such “world-saving” enterprise and the immortals have to find a way to rescue one of their own trapped on one of the colliding hell worlds. Having taken their magic a bit for granted, they realize that they will need the help of some of the world’s best human physicists to help them figure out how to save him.

This is the story of Ivar, the thousand year old Viking whose loyalty to the trapped immortal Quade goes blood and bone deep, and Dr. Promise Williams, a brilliant obsessed physicist/mathematician with enhanced powers related to her field. Like all “matings” in the immortal world, their romance is rapid, intense, and full of superlatives. As a middle book, you may feel thrown into the middle of something monumental at the start and left feeling hungry at the end. Rebecca Zanetti is at her best when she hooks the reader into her much larger story that’s at stake.

Rebecca Zanetti did it again. I was worried that this far into a series that is also a spinoff things would start to get stale. Alpha's Promise was anything but stale, it was funny and bright and edge of your seat exciting.
Another great read from Zanetti.

Alpha's Promise by Rebecca Zanetti is a paranormal romance between a demon/ vampire hybrid and a professor/ physicist.
Ivar has been to hell and suffered greatly. He was forced to leave his "brother"behind and vowed to rescue him.
Promise is a nerdy mathematician who can run the numbers and theories top get Ivar back to the hell realm he had been in. She's also in danger for her ability. Ivar is sent to protect her, but things get out of hand because she's also his mate....
No spoilers. I love Rebecca Zanetti's books. The characters have depth and back stories and there's always something brewing in the background.

What another fantastic addition to the Dark Protectors series! Each book in the series just seems to get better and better. This book is definitely not a standalone, and you must read the previous books to understand what is happening with the Seven and Kurjans. Ivar is one of my favorite characters, and I loved that his book was next! Ivar has changes significantly because of what happened in the previous book. He is abrupt and does what he thinks is best, and I love it. He went through so much, and it has drastically changed him. He just acts, sometimes without thinking, and that usually ends up disastrous. Which is the case with his first meeting with Promise. Promise is a brilliant physicist, but she’s on someone’s radar. Physicists are being murdered, and Ivar is watching out for her. He makes plenty of mistakes, and I love that Promise does not just go along with it all. She is brilliant and lonely, but she is a fighter. She’ll need that fighting spirit to overcome what is coming. There were so many twists and turns in the book, and so much physics talk! But it was not difficult to understand. I couldn’t put the book down once I started reading, but now I am so sad because it’s over and I have to wait for the next book! I highly recommend reading this book!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for granting me an ARC of this book. The review below is entirely my own opinion.

I am normally a big fan of this series. I love that the H's are all alpha protective hotties. Ivar is no exception. He's great. But Promise, the h, otoh, left me feeling meh. I couldn't connect to her at all.

I found myself skimming through a lot of the super scientific speak/scenes she was in. Too much for me and tbh, too boring. I wasn't interested in all the theory/physicist info-dump she'd talk about so I'd skip ahead to parts where the action and pace picked up.

I did like getting to see my favorite peeps from the other books! I wont give it away but there are some goodies in here that lay the foundation for what will likely be upcoming stories.

Overall, this installment in the series was okay, but didn't leave me as swoony as the other books.

P.S. This book cannot be read as a stand-alone. There are too many mentions and appearances of characters from past books. The plot in this book continues on from events that began with book 1. It would be too confusing if you jumped in blind without reading the prior books in the series.

Promise is a highly intelligent teacher of physics, and I must admit a lot of the math details in this book were easy to skim as I found them confusing. Overall though, it wasn't a huge distraction. Then you have Ivar, the hunky old Viking/demon/vampire who is assigned to protect her. Do not remember reading others in this series, so at times was a little confused on who was the bad guys and who was not. Again, not enough to throw me, and I did enjoy the story, but suggest you read others first to get more out of this one. Highly recommend.

This book has quite the interesting start. It's designed to grab your attention. And for me, it worked!
Before I get more into the people in this story I just need to mention something. Although a lot of the science and math ideas escaped me, there still was some great world-building. Especially what Ivar called, " Hell Worlds" I might not understand the science of it but the author still did a great job of showing just how bad some of those were. Showed how they earned that title.
Promise was all brain for most of her life. It seemed like that's all her parents demanded from her. Any imagination or even fun seemed to be ground right out of her by them. Emotion was NOT a priority in their life and didn't seem to see the need for it in her's. It didn't take long for Ivar to see what a lonely little girl she had been. I liked how Ivar saw more than just her very intelligent brain. Oh, he liked how smart she was and got a big kick out of watching her attack a problem. But he also brought out the passion in her, helped her get in touch with her feelings and even gave her a nickname. Towards the end of the book she began to realized that he had taught her that emotions and intelligence could make her smarter and stronger.
It's pretty clear that Ivar has suffered some horrific things. But he also wants to honor his vow to Quade to rescue him from that Hell World. Even if he has to take his place again.
Ivar is quite the fighting machine but aso proves to be quite the love machine when it comes to Promise. So, yes there will be quite a few HOT times between the two of them. Promise thinks that a logical decision would be to mate with Ivar. She likes him, the sex rocks her world. She also wants forever to work on all the things that her mind wants to solve. Ivar knows she only thinks she knows what that would be like being his mate.
They have plenty of time to think about it as there is a lot of dangers, and actions and problems going on.
Some pretty good supporting people in the story as well. Ivar has a lot of good people in his corner. He also has more than a couple of villains that want him dead too.
Just to let you know, not all of the problems are solved in this book but they are making headway!
There is a quick look into another book by Rebecca Zanetti. It's a Deep Ops novel called, "FALLEN."

Alpha's Promise continues the story of the seven demon hybrids whose mission are to save the world. This book would definitely not be a good starting place in this story and should be read as part of the sexy and exciting series. Dr. Promise Williams is a genius in the field of physics and may be the answer to the Seven's quest for dimension hopping .Ivar Kjeidsen is scared physically and mentally from his journey through multiple hell dimensions and leaning towards being more animal than man. A first mistaken meeting and a failed kidnapping/ rescue attempt put Promise and Ivar at odds. But the sexy Viking finds himself drawn to the brainy physicist and Promise logically sees the potential in the mating bond. The scientist teaches the Viking a thing or two about math while the Viking teaches Promise about faith and love. Sizzling with a touch of humor and a great big heap of loyalty, the mates take on Kurjans and hell dimensions while trying to save the last of the Seven. All the usual cast of characters make appearances and the youngest generation flirts with an inter-species war for loads of action and excitement. Heroines that are brilliant and strong and alpha male heroes keep you coming back for more in this addicting series in a 4 and 1/2 stars read. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

Fun and fast read. I have read this series from the very beginning and though it gets repetitive, it doesn't disappoint. Loved Ivar and Promise was a great match for him. Filled with the action typical of this series and with the villains we have come to despise, this book is part of a winning recipe where the outcome is delicious. Highly recommend.
