This is the first book I have read by this author and it was such a fun read.

Forever Wild is about Lissa who claims she’s leaving New Orleans for a fresh start in Michigan. Of course, this is a romance and I really enjoyed reading it The characters are well-crafted and the story was easy to follow.

I didn't read the 1st 2 books of this series. I followed thru it ok as a stand alone. This is a sweet story with wonderful characters. Dax and Lissa are endearing characters and so are all of their furry friends. This book was well written and had a storyline that flowed seamlessly.

I enjoyed this romance. I am a sucker for a good romance and this book fit great. It took me a bit to get interested in it but once I did, it was hard to put down. I would recommend this to others.

While this 3 star read was fairly good (my first one by Allyson Charles!), it was not my favorite. The characters felt a bit forced and the plot line was slow for me. I will be reading more by this author in the future in hopes that I can find one that's a bit more enjoyable for me.

Dax Cannon never says no to a challenge. But when he discovers a sexy stowaway in the back of his truck, he realizes Annelise Ansel might be more than he bargained for. An artist, Lissa claims she’s leaving New Orleans for a fresh start in Michigan--which just happens to be where he’s headed with the pack of rescue dogs he’s delivering to the sanctuary he works for. But when three thugs threaten to take lovely Lissa off his hands, he realizes she’s in need of a sanctuary, too.
This was a decent read. I got through it rather quickly. I liked all of the characters in the story. I particularly liked Dax. Everything was pretty straight-forward and predictable. I recommend.

I liked the 40% of the book, but then it went downhill from that.
It was just meh? I could'nt connect with the MC characters after that and i felt like they were just making stupid decicion after decicion, ugh. It just wasn't for me.

I had to DNF this. I love the idea but just couldn’t finish this book, which was disappointing because I was really looking forward to Dax’s story.

when daredevil dax cannon inadvertently picks up wild child annelise ansel in forever wild, he has no idea what he's in for. lissa is a free spirit that is impossible to contain, and dax, who is trying to walk the straight and narrow, finds himself drawn to her particular brand of trouble.

the connection between these two is instant and undeniable. even though dax does his best to deny it. he doesn't want to like lissa. but her devil-may-care way of fumbling through life is something he finds irresistible. she's the kind of challenge that keeps him on his toes, and even as she cannonballs her way through his life, there is no way he is willing to let her go.

**forever wild will publish june 11, 2019. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/kensington books (lyrical shine) in exchange for my honest review.

In New Orleans to pick up a group of dogs to take back to the sanctuary in Michigan, Dax's life is forever altered when he finds a breathtaking straggler at the back of his truck trying to hitchhike a ride to anywhere. Within one month, a whirlwind romance ensues but the pursuit of happiness is cut short when the talented artist past comes to light. From start to finish, it was hard not to enjoy the journey of Dax and Lissa falling in love even though I would consider it instant because who falls in love in less than 6 weeks? Otherwise it didn't take away the enjoyment of reading this series. In addition, I thought the characters mesh well and were able to bring out the best in each other, thus leaving us with a heartwarming romance.

"Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review."

Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet, sexy romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!

I will say upfront that I did not get the chance (time) to read the first two books in this series before diving into FOREVER WILD. I wish I had, although you can easily read this one on its own I would have liked to know more background about Dax and the other characters from the earlier stories. That is all me, not the book. I felt what I really needed to know was provided in the narrative and in the dialogue, but I’m a reader who would rather experience a complete series – so I will go back to the beginning at some point soon.

Dax and Lissa make a quirky, unusual couple. They both have issues, each has things from their pasts that still affect them today. Of the two, Dax was the more mature, the ready to get on with life on the right track. I found myself liking Dax far more than Lissa, even when she did the right thing later in the story.

There is a kind of instant-love between this couple who fall in love rather quickly but I got it so it wasn’t an issue to me. The danger that Lissa is in is very real and follows her relentlessly. At some point, she’ll have to face her past in order to plan a future with Dax – getting to that point is the journey this couple is on. I enjoyed their romance, yet for me, I need to go back to the beginning and perhaps do a re-read to get the whole picture. In any event. FOREVER WILD is an enjoyable romance with a touch of danger, and adorable puppies that steal scenes and hearts.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

What can I say? I enjoy Forever Wild with its characters who make questionable decisions. In fact, it is nearly impossible not to like helpful, gentlemanly Dax Cannon who doesn’t mind his enforced community service with Forever Friends Animal Rescue. Such a positive man, who could Lissa not fall head over heels for him. Lissa is also a unique character. She seems determined to act without thinking anything through. She definitely needed a keeper especially when danger comes around. The animals are loveable, having more common sense then either of their human counterparts.

While the story has fluff and at time not a lot of substance, I fell for Allyson Charles’ Forever Friends Series just the same. I went straight to the web and brought the first two book in the series. It seems that having a series that “goes to the dogs” works completely for me. It has been a long time since I have read such a fun book.

This was a good entertaining read with some truly interesting characters. Free spirit doesn't begin to describe Lissa. She definitely a unique personality, almost to the point of being annoying. Dax is steady and serious, a complete opposite to Lissa's personality. Then there are all the dogs!! They make this story fun to read. There's a real insta=love element which isn't normally my thing but it works well in this story. Overall this book was an entertaining quick read so I would recommend it.

Fun Book to read. Dax is on his way home with 8 rescue dogs when he discovers a stowaway Lissa is running away from her troubles and is willing to help him with the dogs. He is relunctant at first but they do have chemistry. There are some missteps and the dogs are involved at times. It is always nice to have the author touch on characters from previous books. I enjoyed this book. I got this book from NetGalley for an honest review

This is a very good book for a lazy afternoon, entertaining and easy to read.
At the beginning I had some issues with Lissa and Dax: she grated on my nerves as she reminded me of a spoiled child, Dax on the other side was too good and seemed spineless. The issues were solved further in the book and I was able to understand and liked them.
I loved the canine characters, I found them lovely and well written.
I appreciated the style of writing and the plot, I look forward to reading the other books in this series.
Recommended.
Many thanks to Kensington Books and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

A fun, impulsive romance. The dog on the cover attracted me to the story. He did not disappoint. The couple had their issues. Their friends were actively involved. The dangerous situation was complicated. I skipped over the intimate details. A wild tale from beginning to end.

Forever Wild by Allyson Charles
Forever Friends #3

Dax Cannon is in New Orleans to pick up 8 at-risk dogs to take back to a sanctuary in Michigan when a woman catches his eye. She disappears before he can catch her and considers it a missed opportunity – until he finds her stowed away in the back of the van with all of the dogs! From that point on the story deals with their growing interest in one another, his hopes and plans to purchase an outdoor adventure company, her desire to attend an art school that will give her credentials (she hopes) to enhance her art, bad guys with ill intentions and a few other things. The story was fun to read and I liked both Dax and Lissa as a couple. It was fun seeing the couples from the last two books and William, the Bluetick Coonhound added a fillip to the story that was fun, too. Dax and Lissa didn’t have an easy time of it but that just made their HEA all the sweeter.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington-Lyrical Shine for the ARC – This is my honest review.

I've really been enjoying Charles' Forever Friends series. It's full of fun, somewhat cranky characters that you really like. We are finally at Dax's story and I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to it.

Dax is just such a fun, easy going great guy. You can't help but be pulled in by him. You want to know him. I know he was only at the shelter because he was ordered to, but that didn't mean he didn't end up loving it there. And the guys who run it.

Now as much as I love Dax who turns out to be much more responsible then you first think, I think it has to do with the fact that we all have to grow up, I had a few issues with Lissa. It's not like I didn't like her because I did. I think it was because poor Dax was trying so hard to grow up and do the right thing and who was she to judge him for it and try to draw him into stupid crap.

Even when he explained why he needed to be careful she didn't seem to care. It was all about her and her free lifestyle. Which was really a way of not dealing with the fact that she was never truly loved by her horrible parts and praised by them.

Learning more about her parents made Lissa more likable. Plus when he needed her the most she did the right thing and stood up and told the truth. So I started out only so-so about her but by the end liked her so much more.

I'm super glad Dax got his happily-ever-after. He really deserved it. This series was great
