Cleo Mack had thought she was retiring when she moved to Fairhope, Alabama, but before she knew it she was managing Harbor Village, one of her ex husband’s retirement communities. When a car show comes to town, the residents of Harbor Village host a series of lectures on the topic and everyone is hot and heavy for classic cars.

When a body is found in the Royale Court shopping center, Cleo finds even more has been added to her plate as she tries to help a Harbor Village’s resident who suspects her brother may have a hand in the murder. With a growing list of suspects, many who would have been up past their bed time at the time of the murder, Cleo has her hands full trying to manage it all. Quite a few red herrings to keep you in suspense until he end.

While I did not read the first book in this series, I certainly did not feel like I was missing any information as this book solid as a standalone. Very enjoyable and a solid storyline and well developed characters. Will be reading the first in the series and look forward to future entires.

This is the 2nd in the Cleo Mack series and this one really shines. I now want to move to Harbor Village and be a mystery-solving senior with Cleo and her gang. I hesitate to call this a true cosy because its a bit more complicated than your typical cozy mystery but it is not hard boiled either. Very well written and held my interest until the end. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced reader copy for review.

Second in a series, but able to stand by itself. I love the characters and the setting, other than the murders it is a place I'd like to live. I really like Cleo & Riley's relationship and look forward to seeing what happens in regards to all of the relationships Cleo is involved in (no love triangle). The murder did keep me guessing.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is an intriguing mystery with a well developed plot, intelligent characters and a lovely Alabama setting. It has an interesting premise, being set in a housing development for senior citizens and makes life there seem charming with good friendships, interesting lecture series ( I learned a lot of tidbits about early automotive history in this book), and lots of good food. Cleo Mack is the Executive Director of Harbor House and when she and her good friend Nita agree to work at their friend Ann's knitting shop for a day, they stumble across the dead body of Devon Wheat, a financial advisor whose office was in the same building. Cleo once again gets involved in finding the culprit, along with her job at the housing development. Cleo is an inspirational figure - able to hold down a demanding job (I also learned a lot about what it takes to run a senior housing development) at the same time she investigates. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to future adventures with Cleo.

I really enjoyed this book. Murder at Royal Court is the second in the Cleo Mack Mystery series. Although it can stand on its own, I recommend reading the fist in the series because it is equally good. This cozy takes place n Fairhope, Alabama and centers around Harbor Village, a retirement home full of interesting and eclectic residents. Cleo is a college professor who took an early retirement and suddenly finds herself as the Harbor Village new director and local amateur sleuth. There is murder, mayhem and scams as well as red herrings, twists and turns. The plot unfolds masterfully and the characters come to life. I highly recommend this cozy mystery series.

What an electric group of seniors this book revolves around, such fun characters with great interaction within the community itself. Well written mystery set against an antique car show, that keeps you guessing and comes to a satisfying conclusion. My first vist to Harbor Village, but there will be more.

A return visit to Harbor Village, was an entertaining trip! This time, Cleo becomes involved in solving several mysteries - the murder of a young financial advisor, a scam involving a priceless automobile and how she feels about her growing friendship with Riley. All made for a keep you guessing read.

What I enjoy most about the books is the interaction between the seniors , living in the harbor Village community, and their involvement in solving crimes. Nita, Jim, Dolly, Ann, Evie and several other intriguing characters set the tone of a lively group of crime solvers. Cleo is a wonderfully complex but plain spoken person who tries to do the right thing. Her relationships with her daughter, Stephanie and her ex-husband Travis, make for an interesting and encouraging view of modern families.

Cleo's growing relationship with her fellow neighbor Riley, adds a wonderfully romantic aspect to the series without being the main focus. Just perfect!

The mystery kept me guessing and all the loose ends were tied up nicely! I'm looking forward to another visit with my friends at Harbor Village!

I received an ARC from NetGalley for a fair and honest review of this book.

The story starts around the planning of the first annual antique car show in Fiarhope, Alabama. Cleo the main character lives in a community for active seniors. As things get cranking all seems to be going well until Cleo finds a dead body. Along with an eclectic group of energetic seniors they race against time to find the real killer of Harbor Village.

I really enjoyed reading this cozy book and highly recommend it
