I want You Dead is a fantastic psychological thriller that keeps you turning the pages. I enjoyed the writing and characters. I would this.

The title initially drew my attention to this book and upon reading the synopsis, felt it was a book that i would enjoy. I was not wrong as i thoroughly enjoyed this book, which had been gripped from the first few pages. Great story! It is the first time that i have read a book by this author and hope to read more. Recommended.

My thanks to Netgalley and the Publishers for my copy. This is my honest review.

Psychological thrillers are my jam.

In the case of I Want You Gone, the jam was, unfortunately, a bit rotten. This story was so contrived, it was hard to get involved. The characters were cardboard cut-outs to which I couldn't relate at all, and had I been forced to read the word "silly" one more time, I think I would have chucked my Kindle across the room. Thesauruses are a writer's best friend.

Normally, a book this size would take me around 3 hours to complete. It's taken me days to complete this reading. Admittedly, I've been incredibly busy, but more importantly, I simply had very little desire to pick up my Kindle and resume reading. I had the entire story figured out within the first 50 pages (and I was correct in my assumptions), so completing the reading was less than desirable.

Sorry, fellow readers, but this plot was just "silly."

**Despite my less than favorable review, I'd like to personally thank NetGalley, Inkubator Books, and Miranda Rijks for the ARC, in exchange for my honest opinion.

I was super excited to read this one based on the books description. Somebody definitely wanted Laura gone. I flew through this book. It was fast paced, exciting and always left me wanting to read on to the next page. This has many unexpected twists and turns as well. Although I did figure out early on in the book who was behind everything that was happening to Laura, I still did not know the why till later and even knowing all this, it did not stop me thoughly enjoying this book!

Received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for a honest review. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It’s a quick read. Short and okay to read. There is a lot happening at once over a short period of time so it feels a little chaotic, but it works out in the end. Sadly it’s predictable from the beginning. I had hoped that there would be a twist I didn’t see coming, but sadly not... it’s worth a read if you like mystery

I enjoyed reading the first half of the book immensely. It's great to read when each character introduced can be a potential perpetrator. The cynic in me, after reading so many thrillers, caught on to the psycho pretty early. But, that doesn't mean that the other characters didn't give that person a good run for their money. Very well written, in terms, of making the plot more edgy. All the pieces of puzzle fall into their places towards the end, making it easy to predict the end. However, I truly appreciated the way the author made everyone look guilty for something or the other. Making you think what might be their motives.

The fake news of Laura's death and the extent to which the joke was pushed too was, at the risk of sounding freaky, awesome. That, right there, is such a scary place to be in. Someone is taunting you with your own death news. Honestly, I was looking forward to the psycho having much more sinister motives, or someone like a serial harasser, but dang, it was only one freak at the end, with such a narrow minded motive. The characters were well written, the pace was decent, a little stretchy with so many incidents before she actually took them seriously. Though, since Laura was more than 50, and a little Luddite when it came to technology, it was pretty easy to entrap her. Decent read !

"I Want You Gone" by Miranda Rijks.

My first time reading that author.

Laura's having dinner with her new boyfriend, a doctor, when her daughter calls her in a panic saying that Facebook says that her mother's dead. When she tries to look for it the post is gone. Then there is an obituary in the paper. Then she has a night she can't remember, thinks someone drugged her and attacked her... then a selfie is sent to her work place and she gets fired... nobody will believe she didn't do this. Someone is after her, someone wants her dead, someone is willing to do anything to cause her harm. Who? Why? Her life is falling apart.

5 stars.
WOW is all I have to say!
I was hooked from the start! A real page turner!
It's the kind of things that can happen in real life, it's scary!
I felt for Laura. And I was glad I wasn't her.

One of the best books I've read in 2019.

Well written and fast paced psychological thriller, not boring at all! The kind you don't want to put down!

Thank you NetGalley and Inkubator Books for the ARC of this book. This is my honest review. All opinions are my own.

I took a chance on this book as I hadn’t read anything by the author and hadn’t read any reviews of this book. I’m so glad I did, it is a true look over your shoulder psychological thriller.
The suspense picks up right from the beginning and the torment Laura suffers doesn’t let up until the very end.
The tormentor could literally be anyone in her life, and she doesn’t know who to turn to (although I did figure it out quite early on as there were one too many comments made to make me realise, I think I’ve read too many psychological thrillers now!). She also doesn’t know why this is happening to her as she’s just a normal woman living an ordinary life.
There were a few scream at the book in exasperation moments as she was being really dumb, why would you not go to the police when something this awful was happening to you? She was making a lot of assumptions and acting irrational in places, which was understandable, but very frustrating.
The end was very abrupt, we get all the answers needed, but it just ends. It would have been nice to have an epilogue or one more chapter seeing how the characters coped with the aftermath and just tying everything up in a neat bow. However, I understand that some authors like to have the abrupt end such as this one, it just leaves you wanting more.
Overall, a really excellent read that kept me gripped right to the end (literally)! I will be seeking out other books by this author!

Well done to Rijks in producing a page turner right to the end. Laura Swallow is a divorcee and a real estate agent. Her best friend at work is Jenny and in her personal life Anna, originally a friend of her sister's, is her closest confidante.
One day Laura's life starts to take a sinister turn when her 'death' notice appears in the local newspaper. She receives messages warning her that she is going to die in a car accident, just like her sister. A client accuses her of making sexual advances when it was the other way around. Basically everything about her life seems to fall apart. But who is behind it?
I read quite a lot of these of 'psychological thrillers' and for me it was obvious early on who was behind these sudden turn of events so the central mystery of 'who' was not an issue and a bit of a let down. I felt the writer could have been more subtle about this and inserted more red herrings. Nevertheless it did still keep me engaged right to the end wondering about the 'why'.

I received a copy of this book as an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked the story here, but the way it was told was kind of annoying. The main character jumped to conclusions without having anything to back it up and was very melodramatic about it-which was extremely difficult to read because it was so frustratingly obvious that she was just being a drama queen. Also, the “whodunnit” was also blatantly obvious early on.

just finished this book, thanks so much for the opportunity to read I Want You Done, i recommend this book to anyone who liked Girl on Train and The Couple Next Door. thanks Net Galley and Miranda Rijks.
this book was well written, characters were well developed, a couple of times though I thought characters reactions a little much, like when Laura thought she was raped. Good story line, I was pretty sure that it would turn out to be Anna who dunnit, but why...it all came together at the end
So great story about Laura, mother of Mel who is away at college and divorced from Ian who now is remarried and child on the way. Laura starts to have strange occurrences happen, and things become more intense and frightening for her to the point she doesn't really know who to trust, and she doesn't know who wants her dead. great twists and turns, i'm looking forward to Miranda's next book

Somebody certainly did want want Laura Gone. I really enjoyed this book, reading it very quickly. The story is super fast paced and keeps you wanting more. I really did feel from Laura, her life falling apart so quickly. I did figure out the who but wasn't 100% on the why.

Laura Swallow is dead... according to Facebook and the obituary in the local paper she was killed in a car accident, just like her sister. Only real estate agent Laura is very much alive. This is just the start of her life crumbling before her eyes. Who can she trust? Who could hate her so much and why.

This book certainly kept my interest from the very start and I just wanted to see what would happen next. Thanks to Inkubator Books and NetGalley for my advanced copy of this book to read. All opinions are my own and are in no way biased

A refreshing thrilling novel that had me engaged and I enjoyed the way the story unfolded. I really empathised with Laura she was a lovely sweet natured lady who lives a simple life she has a 9-5 job, dates a charming doctor after her husband suddenly left her for a younger woman, and has a young daughter Mel who is away at university. Life is going fairly well for Laura until someone starts tormenting her by leaving death notices that Laura has died on her Facebook and in the newspaper, Laura is understandably distraught who and why would do such a thing?? I certainly didn’t expect the twist at the end when the perpetrator was exposed!

I Want You Gone by Miranda Rijks is a dark psychological thriller centering around Laura. Someone is threatening her and she has no idea who and why. Slowly her life starts falling to pieces and she doesn't know what to do.

I enjoyed this book, it was interesting and although I guessed the perpetrator it took me a lot of the book to get there. I enjoyed the atmosphere of this book, it was written very well so that I felt everything tat Laura felt!

4 stars from me!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of I want you gone by Miranda Rijks. It’s a fast paced thriller that catches your attention early on.

Laura receives a frantic call from her daughter saying people are posting to social media that she is dead. Next, there is an obituary in the paper. Who would play such a cruel joke? Unless someone in fact is after Laura and truly wants her dead.
There is a list of possible suspects and I had it narrowed down fairly quickly to who I felt was responsible. Could it be her ex husband, her friend and co-worker, maybe it’s the old classmate she has shown a few properties?

Overall, I enjoyed the book. There were a few times I wanted to skip a few pages because Laura’s odd behavior was getting to be a little much. It’s well written and keeps you engaged to the last page despite my feelings towards the main character.

When Laura's daughter and friends see her obituary in a newspaper she at first thinks that it's a mistake or a sick joke. It's only when other things happen that she starts to worry that someone is out to get her. She starts to accouse people with consequences but maybe she should look closer. This book is so hard to put down as you want to see what happens next. It kept me hooked and wanting more.

Thank you Netgalley for this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book was fast paced and quick so it was a great pick for 24 hour readathon. I liked the fact that it was set in UK, I think I've never read thriller that was not set in America and british slang made me enjoy this so much more.
Writing felt a bit too simple at times and I guessed plot twist about 50 pages in. Main character was supposed to be the age of my mother but she acted like she was in high school. There were some continuity errors as well but overall it was quite enjoyable

Someone is trying to ruin Laura's life and make her go crazy. From the beginning of this book when Laura's daughter calls her hysterical because she read an online obit about her mother to the end this book is very suspenseful with psychological twists. Things keep escalating for Laura as someone ruins her professional character, breaks into her apartment and leaves strange objects etc. Is it her ex husband or his new wife? Does this have something to do with the past death of her sister? Laura is unsure of who to trust-should she trust her friends, her new Beau or whom can she turn to? A fast paced book to eagerly read in one night
