I thought I understood the Holy Spirit until I read Anne's book. I learned so much about all the attributes of the Holy Spirit in our life. It helped me learn in a deeper way the importance of allowing the Holy Spirit have access to all areas of our life. I would read a chapter and then spend time considering what it meant to me. I will definitely be reading it again to gain even more understanding. I definitely recommend this book.

Review Title: Holy Spirit Realized (Review of Jesus In Me by Anne Graham Lotz)
Reviewer: Janice S. Garey
***** 5 Stars

If you have ever felt a tad bit deprived of knowing what you have felt in your heart you should know about the One who indwells your heart as a Christian believer, this book is for you. It consolidates the teachings about the Holy Spirit found in the Bible. Jesus In Me is an encouragement to souls who have yearned to know more of and to trust wholeheartedly in the unseen person and power of the Holy Spirit.

Anne Graham Lotz opens the door to welcome the reader into her life with transparency. She tells of how she, the daughter of our nation's top evangelical preacher, did not receive much instruction about the Holy Spirit. This background resonated on a personal level.

Every aspect of the Holy Spirit presented in Jesus In Me is backed up by Scripture. For that reason, this book deserves a place on the reader's reference shelf. It can be used as an easy to understand reference to help in discussions with those questioning the function of the Holy Spirit.

Anne Graham Lotz, an exceptional communicator of all things concerning Jesus and the Christian faith, may have at times seemed sheltered from the common experiences of everyday Christians. The personal stories Anne shares shows she has gone through a multitude of struggles, trials, and temptations that Christians are given to work through with faith and perseverance based on abiding with Jesus. The Holy Spirit comforts, advocates, and helps as needs arise for those who put their faith in Jesus.

Jesus In Me combines the truth of Scripture with the living out of that truth shown through the personal stories portraying spiritual growth which displays as Christians go through difficulties in the strength of Jesus. Anne is transparent about her failings, convictions, and obedience. At the back of the book, she includes a listing of personal sins that may need to be confessed and repented of. She found the list helpful for her own use, and she shares it in the Appendix for those who might want to utilize it in their private quiet time. It can be rewarding to go through the list three times to be sure all sin is acknowleged and confessed to God. Anne did that and found unexpected renewal and refreshment. The exercise brought cleansing to Anne and she shares the joy known of feeling totally right with God.

For the Christian, Jesus In Me is a delight to read. It will be most appreciated by those seeking a richer and fuller experience of their faith. Salvation or transformation may be the utmost benefit or reward from reading Anne Graham Lotz's book. Eternal blessings await those who take to heart its contents.

I received an Advance Reader's Copy of the book as part of being on the launch team. I was asked to read and review the book honestly. I was under no obligation to give a favorable review. I have read and given my honest opinion in this review.

This book was a very meaningful and humbling read. It showed me how truly invaluable the Holy Spirit it. I honestly have a greater insight into the fact the Holy Spirit is so much more than a " still small voice". Thank you Anne for truly opening my eyes to this. It encourages and guides into leading a life to bring glory to God.

I was looking forward to reading this book and I was not disappointed. I grew up in and still attend a Baptist Church and while we talk about the Holy Spirit, I still had so many questions. This book was one that held my attention and answered those lingering questions. I believe that the Holy Spirit is with us each and every day and when we are called to do God's work, the Holy Spirit has done that calling, cheers us on and supplies the energy we need to do the work that God has called us to do. As Anne said, He is our Helper, Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener, and Standby. I help lead our Women's Bible Study and am recommending this book for our next study. I can not wait for my Sisters in Christ to read it.

Jesus in Me, by Anne Graham Lotz, is a wonderful book about who the Holy Spirit is and how he fits into our day-to-day lives. For me, and I am sure others, the Holy Spirit has always been a bit of a mystery, taking a backseat to the Father and the Son in the Holy Trinity. Within the 304 pages and 27 chapters, Anne explains the Holy Spirit perfectly and gives examples of how the he has worked throughout her life during her most trying times.

While I did enjoy reading about Anne’s journey and how the Holy Spirit accompanied her throughout her journey, the book was a bit different then what I was expecting. I was expecting more of a how-to understanding of the Holy Spirit and how he moves in each of our lives, instead I thought it read more like a memoir about the author’s experiences with the Holy Spirit. Having said that, I still enjoyed the book.

This was my first book from Anne Graham Lotz, even though I have followed her for a while being Billy Graham’s daughter. I am also blessed to have been taught Sunday school by one of Billy Graham’s granddaughters. I really enjoyed her writing style, and her ability to make difficult information about the Holy Spirit easy to understand.

Overall, I very much enjoyed Jesus in Me. I think it is a great read for both new and seasoned Believers and those who want a better understanding of the Holy Spirit.

Prior to reading Jesus in Me: Experiencing the Holy Spirit as a Constant Companion, my understanding of the Holy Spirit and His part in the triune God was sorely lacking. This book really filled in all the gaps. Finally, I get it!!

Ms. Lotz writes in a warm conversational tone. Her ability to make the information she is imparting easy to understand makes this book a good choice for anyone, regardless of where they are in their faith journey. The book offers information about the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament, in the New Testament and beyond, explanations of Biblical history and the customs at the time, and challenges to the reader. I learned alot, and it gave me alot to think about as well.

Many thanks to NetGalley and WaterBrook and Multnoman for allowing me to read a copy of the book in exchange for an unbiased review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Easy to read written in personable manner. This book will be truly helpful to Christians no matter what they are going through in life. God has given us his Holy Spirit to be our comforter and our guide.

Anne Graham Lotz writes these words at the end of the book"The choices you and I make today will determine how our lives are viewed when we meet Jesus face to face. Please. Embrace fully the Holy Spirit’s gifting, then exercise your gifts in service to Him so that on that day you will not be empty handed but will have something to lay at the feet of Jesus in return for all He has given you." And I knew exactly what Anne was talking about, because I now have a better understanding of the One who lives in me. We spend so little time on getting to know this very important person of God. Yet, He is so important in our relationship with our Savior and God. And if you look at just the table of content, you see how involved He is in our lives. Anne's detail in every chapter provides us the way to doing just that all the way to the end of the book. You will not be disappointed.

Jesus In Me
Experiencing the Holy Spirit as a Constant Companion
Author: Anne Graham Lotz

The book is about the third person of the Trinity; The Holy Spirt. As Christians we have heard about the Holy Spirit, the spirt of God within us, however; it is not often discussed in detail.

I truly enjoyed Anne Lotz’s new book on the Holy Spirit. Anne is a very good writer. She discusses the Holy Spirit in a very natural way like she is talking about a life-long friend. She goes in detail to explain the positive impact the Holy Spirit has made in her life.

Anne explains how the Holy Spirt, within her, has helped her cope with many life experiences. The author listed several specific functions the Holy Spirit has served in her life. The Holy Spirit has served her in time of trouble as a Helper, a Comforter, an Advocate, an Intercessor, a Counselor, and a Strengthener.

The Helper: The Holly Spirit stood by her when her husband, Danny, in a weaken condition, while trying to use his walker, fell in their swimming pool and drowned. She was all alone except for her inner spirit.

The Comforter: During times of grief, the Spirit served as her Comforter during the loss of her husband, the loss of two babies in miscarriage, her son’s diagnosis of cancer, her son’s breakup of two marriages, the death of her mother, followed by the death of her father and the diagnosis of her cancer.

The Advocate: The Spirit stood as an Advocate when her husband was removed from the search committee to find a new pastor for their church along with her 500 member Bible class being asked to leave the premise of the church. She prayed to her Advocate for help. One year later the newspaper that had published a humiliating account of the removal, produced a two-page profile effectively exonerating her and the class from any wrong doing.

The Intercessor: The Spirit served as her Intercessor who works between you and others to reconcile differences. The Intercessor served as an intermediator during a disagreement between Anne and her youngest daughter Rachel-Ruth about what classes she should take in the spring semester of her second year of college. Rachael-Ruth hung-up on her mother and would not answer the phone when she called back several times. Soon after their misunderstanding Anne’s speaking schedule placed her in Dallas near her daughter. She did not know that her speaking schedule would place her in Dallas. The Holy Spirit had full understanding of her schedule.

After her speech in Dallas Anne drove to Baylor University, in Waco to see her daughter. When seeing her mother she embraced her and told her she was sorry and admitted that she was wrong; they stood there crying and holding each other. With open minds they were able to resolve their differences involving the class schedule. The Sprit had brought a mother and daughter back together.

The Counselor: Anne turned to her spirit counselor when she was told she had breast cancer. Before she met the doctor the Helper had prepared her for what the diagnosis could be.

She turned to the Counselor for guidance on how she could tell her family. Immediately a scripture from Deuteronomy 29:29 came to mind, “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but things revealed belong to us our children”. She knew immediately this news had to be shared with her family and grandchildren. Her family showered her with overwhelming love and support.

The Strengthener: The Strengthener Spirit is to give us strength and courage in time of crisis. Several years ago Anne was honored by being invited by the Legislative Council of Telangana State of India to address the second annual National Day of Prayer in Hyderabad. She knew it would be a difficult trip since India was not an open nation welcoming Christianity. She got her visa approved to travel to India. The Indian Embassy was strongly urging her not to travel to Hyderabad. The Spirit through our Strengthener offered strong encouragement. The Indian Government kept offering their concern for her safety but never cancelled her Visa. Mrs. Lotz kept her plans in place to travel to India. The Strengthener kept supporting her trip. Working through 450 rural churches she was able to speak to 10,000 of their members and later spoke to about 8,000 women. Her trip was a success carrying the word of God to over 20,000 people in India. Anne accomplished this feat through of the support she received from the Holy Spirit.

The Standby: The Standby Spirit assisted her several years ago when a car pulled out in front of her and she had to swerve to prevent from hitting the car broad side. The Standby Spirit was there to support her in keeping her composure during the accident. After the accident, she heard a voice say.” Anne! Wow! That was an incredible piece of driving! Great job!”. Anne said that there was no one in the car. She set there listening until a knock on the car window brought her back to reality. Anne said her Standby Spirit came through in every way.

The Author, Anne Graham Lotz through the writing of this book has done tremendous service to all Christians through this book in bringing examples of true life stories in her life which occurred when the Holly Spirit is involved in the daily lives. She shows us how to better utilize the Holy Spirit in our lives.
This book is a must read for Christians who wants to better understand how the Holly Spirit interacts in our lives.

This book Jesus In Me is a 5 star book in every respect. I think it could be a classis book in defining the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

This book highlights Anne's love for the Word of God. Her insights are fresh and vulnerable, including those garnered during her recent battle with cancer. If you are interested in learning more about the Holy Spirit's guidance and promptings in your life, then this is the book for you. The Appendices at the end are a treasure. You will learn to listen for the Holy Spirit's whispers as you read the Bible with new eyes.

A book to be read and studied. Do we really trust Jesus? The reader is asked to search their heart and ask themselves if they really trust Jesus or not. Not just in certain areas of our life but every area. Are we willing to completely turn ourselves over to Him? Jesus In Me made me rethink my relationship with Jesus and a reminder that I am never alone..

Recommend this book by Anne Graham Lotz "Jesus In Me, Experiencing the Holy Spirit as a Constant Companion." This book has seven major parts on the Holy Spirit that most Believers havent embraced in their redeemed lives. They havent gone deeper to really know about the Holy Spirit. Well, Anne has been given a God-given presentation to open our eyes wider and experience Him more. This book will be one that is read and reread. I give it 5 stars. I have not been compenstated for my honest review.

I found this book to be very informative and practical regarding the Holy Spirit. I love the way each chapter reveals another characteristic of the Holy Spirit. This book not only includes personal stories but also practical applications. This book challenges me to go deeper in my walk with God, my understanding and experience of the Holy Spirit. I highly recommend "Jesus in Me" for someone who truly wants a Biblical and practical understanding of the Holy Spirit.

I invited Jesus into my life at the age of 12 but didn't realize The Holy Spirit was the Jesus in me for about 15 years I grew up hearing about the Holy Ghost and having Him called "it". While in a Bible study in seminary I was challenged with the reality of Him being the Jesus in me. John 14:16-17. Anne is transparent with her personal experiences in growing in her walk with the Holy Spirit. She uses probing and challenging questions and illustrations both personal and Biblical to point to the Spirit's purpose of displaying God's glory.. One of the most convicting to me was "We can invite Jesus in the person of the Holy Spirit to come into our lives and then tell Him, more or less, to stand right there...We can refuse Him access or control.." of areas we want to control or don't want Him to confront our sin or as she calls it "dirty laundry". Anne shares her conviction that we as believers are in desperate need of real personal/cooperate revival or spiritual awakening.
This is not a quick read or bedtime story. Anne gives Appendix A-B-C-D for delving deeper.
Over the last several weeks I have read and reread this book. I have known about Him but I am becoming more aware that He is my constant companion. THE Jesus in me!

As usual, Anne Graham Lotz has another powerful book. JESUS IN ME is wonderful due to Anne has drawn from her own experiences. She has shown us how Jesus is with us everywhere we go and how He comforts us in our daily life. With Anne’s personal stories, they bring tears to us because so many have walked in her shoes. Our Lord never promised us a walk in the park. What we learn is if we lean on Him, we are never alone and He guides each of our steps. Jesus delights is giving us comfort.

I was so excited about being on this launch team. I could hardly wait to get my hands on this book about Experiencing the Holy Spirit as a Constant Companion.

<p>First, it was just amazing to me that she could write to us WHILE she was going through cancer treatments. I know that when I am struggling through life's trials, it is nearly impossible for me to even write in my journal. I just don't want to face the issues. She has been amazing.

Secondly, as always she shares openly and honestly about her own faith. Where she succeeds and where she fails. Then she tells us what she learned. Anne openness helps me connect with her as a common friend. I'm not intimidated by her because she is Rev. Billy Graham's daughter. More so, I welcome her advice.

Thirdly, this book on the Holy Spirit is greatly needed. From my point of view. Many are not tapping into what He can do for us. Anne can help us do that.

Rarely am I speechless. Rarely do words fail me. But I'm having a really hard time contemplating what to tell you about this new book by Anne Graham Lotz. As one who wants our children to grow and be biblically literate young people, I have written several lessons about the Holy Spirit and His role in our lives as believers. But I agree with what Anne Graham Lotz says at some points in her new book, the more she sought to know about the Holy Spirit, the more there is to know, and knowing isn't enough, but living in these truths and the fact that God gives us Himself to live in us, guide us, lead us, work in us, equip us to change, even for intercession when words fail us.

Her new book showcases so many levels and layers of the Holy Spirit. Truly she has been gifted these words by the Holy Spirit to share with the world, who also needs to know, call on, walk with, and live in His presence.

This book is excellent whispering truths from the Word of God through life experience, growth, an ongoing process, awareness, soul seeking, and utter dependence on the work of the Holy Spirit in her heart, soul and mind.

This book is well written and easy to read, harder to process, and choose to follow the questions and suggestions that the author provides. There are 27 chapters, divided into 7 themes, with a conclusion and some very helpful appendixes to encourage life change and application. The chapters are short, pointed, and end with questions for your own personal application. These questions really get to the heart and soul of living with the Holy Spirit in me. And while easily understandable, the application and processing in me, will go on long after I've finished the book. The perspective is much needed and for me often convicting.

Some of my favorite illustrations to make the Holy Spirit graspable for children are shared in this book- engagement rings, seals, promise, guarantee, and I love that I have a new image. That of the magnifying glass- the Holy Spirit is showing others that Jesus is in ME!!!

This book would be an excellent book club or Bible study book. It can be read cover to cover in a day or two, or it can be read a little at a time to help process and apply the truth shared. But it should be read.

Thankful to partner with Netgalley and Waterbrook-Multnomah to read an advanced copy of this book.

I am reading this book as a devotional and I highly recommend it! We all need a refresher course on Who the Holy Spirit is and What His ministry is. Anne uses scripture, her stories, and biblical illustrations to bring the Holy Spirit into reality for us. A very encouraging, enlightening book!

Anne Graham Lotz has written a great book on the Holy Spirit and His attributes.
She expands on more than His being a counselor and uses her life as great examples.

Although I did especially relate to Chapter 5 when she wrote about His counseling in the death of her husband. I have carried guilt over the death of my Mother even tho she was 96. Chapter 5 really spoke to me.

Anne’s book is very enlightening and I plan to use it as a companion and reference.
