I loved this book. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read and review it. Mr. Robotham is a terrific writer. His characters are very believable. This is about a teenaged girl’s murder and the entire book follows that murder. I can usually guess “whodunnits “ but not this one. I feel most readers of thrillers and mysteries would greatly enjoy it!

Another great psychological thriller from Robotham!
I was given this book from NetGalley for an honest review -
A girl is found hiding,, starved, dirty and now one knows her name -
She is sent to a locked facility but wants to be on her own.
Cyrus is a psychologist sent to her. He is also investigating a murder.
Evie has the ability to know if someone is lying. What follows is a thrilling story you won't want to miss!

I’ve loved this authors previous work, so I was definitely looking forward to his newest novel. It definitely did not disappoint! The story was developed and it kept me on my toes from start to finish!

This was another great, fast-paced thriller from Michael Robotham. We are introduced to Evie, who lives in a psychiatric facility for teens, but no one knows her real name or age or really where she came from. Cyrus, a police psychologist, takes an interest in her because he knows that she is the girl who was discovered hiding in the walls at a murder scene and has never identified her family or given details about what happened to her. He sees that she has a special ability to detect lies and decides to foster her, but will Evie hurt or hinder the current murder investigation he's working on?

There is not enough to say about this book. The insights that Robotham provides go well beyond that of storytelling. They are deep, moving, and provide the reader with a thoughtfulness that lasts well beyond the last page of the book. The plot line, the characters, the set up, and the execution are perfect. Every one of his characters holds this beautiful, gritty personification that makes the story feel tangible. An absolute must read. 5 stars.

Thank you to #NetGalley for this ARC

I loved this authors first book! He need more clout the cause I was SHOOK! Would you want to know when someone is lying to you? Every time they speak? It sounds good at first.. but you could get hurt.

This is a mystery about a missing girl who is found.

A very interesting tale of intertwining dysfunctional families. Dr. Haven is called upon to try and unravel the identity of "angel face" or Edie Cormac. She was found in an abandoned house hidden in a secret room for months while her abductor lay murdered in an adjoining room. Her mystery has never been solved. Then an aspiring olympian, Jodie Sheehan, is found murdered and Dr. Haven is apprised of that case also. the book alternated between the point of view of Evie and Cyrus. The relationships between Jodie's coach and her family is very familial and lends its own problems. I only gave it a 3, because it was somewhat silly and unbelievable.

Another knockout from Robotham. The introduction of Evie Cormac makes this novel a perfect start for readers new to his work and will also satisfy readers of his Joe O'Laughlin stories. A first purchase for general fiction collections. The troubled teen protagonist also makes this a solid choice for HS collections where thrillers are popular.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author, for an ARC of this book, in exchange for an honest review.
I thought that this was 1 of the best books that I have read this year.
It was a very well written, original, addictive, suspenseful and gritty murder mystery.
I loved that all the main characters were flawed and I hated that I had to see their story end.
I would love to find out that this was the 1st book in a new series.
I would definitely read another book by this author.

If, you have yet to discover Michael Robotham, go now to your favorite online or brick and mortar bookseller and pick up any one his books. You will be ordering his others before you finish your first and
pre-ordering "Good Girl, Bad Girl."
Many thanks to publisher Scribner and NetGalley for allowing me to read this before publication in exchange for an honest review.
Mr Robotham's newest book "Good Girl, Bad Girl" is scheduled to be released July 23, 2019.
In his newest offering we are introduced to a new character, Evie Cormac. We meet Evie when she is a child of undetermined age. She has witnessed a horrible crime and has hidden, alone until she is later found. Her identity unknown, she will not communicate with doctors or authorities. She lives in a secure children's home until she requests to be released as an adult. With her failure to co-operative and divulge her real name, and details of the crime she had witnessed years earlier, the court is not so willing to release her.
Enter Cyrus Haven, a forensic psychologist who soon discovers that Evie is an enigma.. She is intelligent, dangerous and is possibly a real human life detector.
We are drawn into a complicated, dangerous relationship between the two and soon, Dr. Haven gets pulled into another case involving the murder of a high school figure skating champion.
No one, tightens the suspense and tension as well as Michael Robothham. His books grab you and they don't let go, ratcheting up the pace and suspense until the the end.
Several years ago, while visiting New Zealand, a bookseller suggested Mr Robotham to me. I bought his newest at that time "Life Or Death" which I read after returning to the US. I was blown away and proceeded to buy all his other books. They are all great and I highly recommend them to you. 'Michael Robotham never disappoints.
Dr Cyrus Haven and Evie are new characters and are intriguing. I look forward to knowing more about them.
Many of Mr Robotham's other books feature my favorite fictional character, Joe O'Loughlin. He is a psychologist who has recently lost his wife leaving Joe with the task of raising his two daughters while trying to function with his Parkinson's disease.
Pre-order Good Girl, Bad Girl today and while you are waiting pickup one of the Joe O'Loughlin books.
Michael Robotham has been compared to Michael Connelly whose books I love but in my opinion Mr Robotham's are better.

Cyrus is a psychologist who is called in to observe a young girl named Evie. She's thought to be the child who lived in a secret room while a man was tortured to death. Nobody knows where she came from, how old she is, or what her name really is. The only thing we know for sure is that she can tell when someone is lying. A curse or a gift? Meanwhile, another young girl is murdered on her way home one evening. Cyrus is involved with helping the police through the investigation, while also becoming immersed in knowing more and helping Evie. There were many avenues this story could have taken and what was great was never knowing where Robotham was going. I liked having the two mysteries and while one was cleared up, the other wasn't. Is there more to come? I hope so. I would like to see more of Cyrus and Evie.

Thanks to NetGalley for a Kindle ARC of Good Girl, Bad Girl.

I was super excited my request was approved because I'm a fan of the author's Joe O'Loughlin series.

Psychologist Cyrus Haven is called in to evaluated a young woman named Evie Cormac.

Evie has a shocking past; years ago she was rescued from a hiding place in a hovel where her captor had been tortured to death.

She has no identity, no name and no intact memories of her past. She has been scarred, abused and traumatized but she is a survivor.

At the same time, a teenage girl with a promising future as a figure skater is found dead in the woods, and Cyrus is brought in to consult on the investigation at the behest of the lead detective, a friend he has known since he was a child, when he was the survivor of his own shocking family tragedy.

Cyrus and Evie team up, reluctantly, to discover that the murderer is sometimes closer than you think.

I liked Cyrus, who is not much different than Joe O'Loughlin; capable and competent, and Evie is a likable character as well.

Her mysterious past is not resolved in this book, but I look forward to future books in which more details of her previous life will be further revealed.

There were aspects of the plot that didn't make sense and required such belief suspension, I found it impossible to do so.

I don't know what the laws in the UK are, but I know here in the USA, there is no way a random child psychologist would be granted custody of a volatile young woman with no past and a history of violence.

Second, there was a scene where Evie approaches a young figure skater to ask her questions about the deceased and this young woman just gives up information freely.

She's not the tiniest bit suspicious that a random girl just popped into the dressing room to ask questions about a dead girl?

I don't know how friendly and open teenage girls in the UK are, but when I was 16 or 17, I would never answer personal questions about a dead girl from someone I had never met or seen before, regardless if she was thinking of taking up figure skating.

Third, the murderer is just a tad bit hard to believe in, considering how hysterical this person becomes in the end. It felt a bit overdramatic and heavy handed for no reason.

I really wanted to know more about Evie; how she survived foster care, how she adapted to her surroundings after being rescued from a terrible environment.

I look forward to learning more about Evie Cormac and who she is in future books.

I absolutely loved this book. I devoured it in 2 days. It is very rare for me to love two main characters of a book, but in this instance, I loved both Evie and Cyrus equally. What a great story. Michael Robotham thank you for being such an awesome writer, this is my favorite book of 2019. Keep the hits coming.

Thank you to NetGalley and Publisher for allowing me to read an ARC of Good Girl, Bad Girl in trade for my honest review.

This is not my first time reading a book by Michael Robotham, he has become one of my favorite authors. With that being said this book fell a little short for me. It's not that I didn't enjoy it because I did. I felt myself wanting to hear more of Angel Face's story and not really caring about what was going on with the other characters. I did like the twist at the end I didn't see it coming exactly like that. I do wish there was more story about Angel Face at the end. Another Book? I can only hope! Did I enjoy this book? Yes Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes.

I don't think that Michael Robotham has written a book that I didn't enjoy reading. This book kept me guessing at every way through. I liked his main characters Marcus and Evie. I hope he continues with them in future books.

Good Hirl, Bad Girl was the first of Michael Robotham’s books that I have read though he has long been on my TBR list.
Cyrus Haven is a psychologist with a troubled past . He has maintained a close relationship with Lanny, the policewoman who was just starting out when she came to his rescue and calls him when she needs insight into a case.
Jodie Sheehan is the town darling, a “good girl” who had a promising future in ice skating until her body is found after a town celebration. The “ bad girl” is a young girl whose true name is unknown and was given the name Evie by the courts. Cyrus is called in to evaluate Evie who is asking to be released from the institution where she has been held since her rescue from the infamous Angel Face case.
The story alternates viewpoints between Cyrus and Evie who has the unique ability to know when someone is lying.
I enjoyed the way the story was laid out and was surprised at the ending. This is an enjoyable tale and will satisfy fans of mysteries/crime novels. One thing I found stretched belief was how Evie kept getting herself into trouble. On one hand she was extremely suspicious and distrustful, then the next she places faith in those with ulterior motives. It is a minor issue and it might just be me.
I really enjoyed this and look forward to learning more about Evie and how her journey brought her to this point and will have to tackle some of the author’s previous books as well.
Thank you to #netgally and #scribner books for the advance readers copy in exchange for my opinion.

Another great read from Michael Robotham. His books grab you right away and don’t let go. This one is no different. Cyrus Haven, a forensic psychologist, is helping the police out with the case of a murdered teenager. She was the perfect child and a Good Girl. He also becomes involved with teenager Evie, a survivor of horrible abuse who was found hiding in a house with a dead body. Most consider Evie a Bad Girl. The story takes both storylines and melds them together. The author does a good job of showing that each are both Good Girl, Bad Girl. I loved the new character Evie and am really looking forward to learning more about her and her past in future books.
Thank you netgalley for an advanced readers copy for my opinion.
