This is a great, delicious, but SIMPLE cookbook. There is nothing worse than recipes that have impossible to find ingredients and complex cooking steps. This is your great “every day” grilling cookbook. It’s definitely one I will continue to come back to time after time.

I am always looking for new recipes to share with my family. This book gives me a lot of new recipes for the grill. what I liked about this one is that it has the recipes but also breaks out the steps for some of them so the whole family can help. I am used to being in charge so it is sometimes hard for me to step back so my daughter can help. This one points out steps that I can have her do. I also liked the wide range of recipes - some of which for some reason I would have never thought to try on the grill - like pizza.

If you love grilling, but are running out of new ideas on what to grill, you’ll want to pick up Char-Broil Grilling for the Family: 300 Delicious Recipes to Satisfy Every Member of the Family (Creative Homeowner) Easy-to-Follow Recipes, Backyard-Tested Techniques, and Tips to Get Kids Involved.

This excellent cookbook has plenty of good information in the beginning of the book to improve the grilling experience for everyone. I’ve noticed that when a cookbook has been put out by a company (in this case, Char-Broil), the recipes and techniques are usually exceptional so that consumers will continue to purchase and/or use their product. Even for those who don’t own a Char-Broil brand grill, this book has recipes that will be useful for any grill, whether gas or charcoal. There are also suggestions on including the entire family in preparing and serving the food, which is a good way to get family members involved.

There are beautiful photographs of most of the recipes (except the marinades and sauces, which is okay). This cookbook features great ideas and recipes that actually work and are easy-to-follow. Although it probably isn’t that convenient to heat a grill early in the morning most days, there are some mouthwatering and innovative breakfast dishes that can be enjoyed on weekends. The Grilled Breakfast Pizza turned out picture-perfect and was delicious. There are dozens of appetizers, and an impressive amount of good side dishes in this cookbook, as well as plenty of good chicken dishes. The book also includes pork, beef, and seafood dishes. There are also a few different yummy bread recipes like a blue cheese garlic bread and a Grilled Chili-Cheese Bread. Since the grill will already be heated up, dessert can also be done, and it will be mouthwatering: Blueberry-Rhubarb Crumble, Grilled Bananas, and Grilled Pineapple.

This is an excellent cookbook for every family that loves to grill. It has enough good recipes to keep everyone busy throughout the entire summer.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

We don't grill very often but I like to look at cookbooks that might inspire me to get out on the deck and fire up the grill. This book is very comprehensive with tips for buying a grill to maintenance and cleaning. there are over 300 recipes for appetizers to deserts that can be cooked outdoors. Also some good tips for having a fun family and friends gathering. The pictures are bold and colorful and highlight many of the recipes. A great gift for the newbie outdoor cook. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

It’s that time of the year where we get our grills out and start cooking and you know you need a cookbook to help you with that right? LOL.

Char-Broil Grilling for the Family feathers over 300 recipes that will help you be the master griller with recipes for drinks, breakfast foods, meats, seafood, vegetables, salads, desserts and of course, great marinades, sauces, and rubs that will help you this summer and beyond

The starting of the book gives you inside on different types of gills, woods to use, tools, and much more to help you make the most of your grilling. What I really liked best was the heating and temperature setting for different methods of grilling

I would have given this book a 5 rating, but the images seem very generic for the time they spent on the recipes, but it could be because I have an ARC copy.

It's the perfect book for summer cooking. I am grateful that I received an ARC from Netgalley in return for an honest review and I highly recommend this book and suggest you pruchase it ASAP!

First I have to say this book was a very pleasant surprise. It was much more than I was expecting and is just jammed packed with useful information and tons of recipes. At the beginning of each chapter of recipes is a section called Chef Tasks. These are broken into Kiddo Chefs, Teenage Sous Chefs & Head Chefs (aka grown-ups). Clever tips for all ages to get involved in the cooking process! With over 300 recipes there’s a wide variety to choose from and all have clear and concise ingredients and directions. Each recipe also has a colored picture of the finished product which I always enjoy!

Overall this was a very well made cookbook and a great addition to cooks who may want to expand their grilling recipes. For someone like myself, who owns a grill but doesn’t use it often, this has inspired me to start grilling again!

A comprehensive guide on charbroil grilling for the whole family! Complete with beautiful pictures. One of the few cookbooks that is actually formatted well and is pleasant to read on Kindle, though we’ll be getting a physical copy as well!

In this big, colorful cookbook put out by Char-Broil, you will find over 300 recipes to add to your grilling repertoire as well as practical information about grilling and healthful eating.

The book has a surprising amount of extra information for a cookbook. There's a large front section with a variety of tips, from choosing a grill to standard cooking times to healthful eating. Chapter 12 has more information about their infrared oil-less turkey fryer (which can be used for more than just turkey).

The recipes themselves include the typical big meats and spins on classic grilling fare (like hamburgers) as well as more unusual dishes like grilled pizza (even a breakfast one!) and quesadillas. There are also chapters about breakfast from the grill, appetizers and snacks, vegetables and sides, and desserts. Most recipes use a handful of readily available ingredients; the recipes appear straightforward in technique, though some might not have enough information for an inexperienced griller. I received a copy well in advance of the publication date, so I hope some recipes will be edited to include more technique information as well as standardize the extra information about each recipe (prep/grill/cook times, servings). Except for the marinades and sauces chapter, every recipe has a photo—even though some recipes don't show the completed dish but rather the ingredients at some stage of the preparation. At the start of each chapter, a featured recipe is shown along with instructions on how to prepare it with young children or a teenage cook.

Most of the recipes in this book use the grill, with the most significant exception being in the chapter on marinades, sauces, and rubs. Scattered, though, throughout the book are recipes that don't use the grill. I'm wondering if those would have been better placed in a separate chapter just for non-grilled sides and accompaniments. Some recipes, too, could be made on the grill or on the stovetop or in an oven. It would have been nice if these recipes had directions those options for those times of the year when grilling is impractical.

Some of these recipes look like very fun ideas, like the grilled angel food cake s’mores (the photo alone is drool-worthy!), grilled potato salad, and a variety of recipes that creatively use bread. Some recipes don't require grilling for too long or have only one ingredient that is grilled, so they wouldn't necessarily make sense to be the only recipe to fire up the grill for, yet if the grill is already going, they can make great additions to a meal.

If you enjoy grilling, you might enjoy this bountiful cookbook that will supply you with new ideas for grill-time dishes.

Impressive! This is a comprehensive guide to many wonderful grilling recipes and also using the Big Easy. I found the recipes to be easy to understand and make. I also discovered many new recipes that i'm excited to try very soon. What i especially like about this book is that it provides explanations at the start of each section on various methods and aspects of cooking. I was also able to zero in on answers to previously puzzling cooking questions that i had..

A delightful recipe book that I think is worth buying.

I was provided with an advanced copy for giving my honest, unbiased opinion. Thank you.

Although the book definitely has sections focusing on Char-Broil products, the majority of the recipes (except those in the chapter about The Big Easy) could be made on any kind of grill. The book has chapters on breakfast, apps, all different kinds of meat, seafood, veggies, desserts, and marinades/sauces/rubs. Recipes have a nice variety of flavors. The recipes are easy to understand, and each chapter starts with a recipe that kids can specifically help out with and nice tips to get them involved. There are lots of photos in the book, for almost every recipe if not all of them.

This is a great resource book and will help every cook, from beginner to expert, prepare each and every meal to perfection. No matter what you’re looking to grill, this book has it all covered. How to get a good sear, best way to keep thaw meat or poultry, create a grilled fruit masterpiece - this book has your answer. Be warned: the reading of this book will produce cravings of BBQ ribs and other heavenly grilled delights.
I received an arc from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I volunteered to read this cookbook pre-publication in exchange for a copy. I have had my Charbroil for over 16 years, and I love it! This cookbook is geared towards the Charbroil grill, but can be used with any grill. I don't have a favorite recipe, because there are too many favorites! I love the marinades and rub recipes. I have been wanting to incorporate them into my cooking. This cookbook proves that basically any recipe can be adapted for the grill.

Lots of helpful tips, what to look for when buying a new grill, cooking methods and temps. Plenty of interesting recipes to try. Looking forward to trying some when it warms up a bit more.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy.

Incredibly extensive collection of recipes to make on the grill.
This book covers everything from choosing healthy foods, grill maintained, cooking with your kids to the actual recipes.
There are a lot of recipes in this book. All the bases are covered, from appetizers through to desserts. There are ideas for marinades and side dishes.
I found the idea of cooking ostrich odd but maybe that’s just me.
I will say that the pictures in the book could be brighter and more eye catching. I think this might be an issue with the early copy I read. But the pictures are somewhat out of sync with the corresponding recipes. And the pictures themselves fall a bit flat.
I definitely appreciate the amount of pictures in the book. When I buy a cookbook, I want an image of what the finished product will look like. This book does a good job of covering that.
I think people will be happy with the number of recipes and pictures and variety of foods covered. But I definitely think the images need brightening before this book is released, a bit more color on the pictures and everything will look more appetizing.
