Didn't love this as much as I thought I would, but it still made for a very entertaining read! Looking forward to Romy Sommer's next book.

Generally speaking, I am not a fan of royal romances. In my personal opinion, not everyone can be Meg Cabot. My Best Friend's Royal Wedding sounded interesting enough that I picked up an ARC. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me.

The book started off well enough. Khara is attending her best friend's royal wedding in a fictional European country. Khara is the bridesmaid and the hero, Adam, is the groom's best man. It turns out that Khara had met Adam for the first time a year ago and he didn't leave a good impression on her. But Adam doesn't actually remember their first meeting. Khara is immediately prejudiced and it's pretty much hate to love on her part. As for Adam, he's determined to seduce Khara. You know...same old playboy trope.

Honestly, this isn't a bad book, but it was just a little too...superficial for my taste. I almost did not finish it because Adam and Khara were very obnoxious at first. Khara's entire personality is defined by "not being like other girls." She kept going on and on about how her goals and aspirations in life are so different from what other girls want in life....but in reality, her goals and aspirations actually align with what most women want in life lol. She also liked to call herself "mature," but she came across as very immature sometimes. As for Adam, his smugness was over the top and annoying. Luckily, Adam and Khara got more tolerable around the 30% mark. I think Adam is probably the only well-rounded character in this book. But even then, he is a walking cliche. What I did like was that Adam and Khara actually became friends, instead of enemies, before becoming lovers. But overall, I don't love them as romantic couple and I was not invested in their romance. I actually preferred them as friends. Which is weird. Because this is a romance novel lol.

Also, it was so weird that when Adam proposed to Khara, she was actually dating someone else....lol....why.....

I loved it!! I felt like I missed out on a first book, but this one is still easily understood if you missed it too. Adam and Khara are so wonderful! Loved it and will definitely be on the lookout for more of Romy Sommers' books.

I was really hoping to like this book more than I did. It was a cute light hearted read. My Best Friend’s Royal Wedding was fun quick read.

I was sold when I read the title and that it aligned with fans of Hallmark movies. I will read anything that deals with royals, secret royals, friends of royals, etc. This was a warm-hearted book, and it's as advertised.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the published for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.

Thank you to the author and NetGalley for an ARC. This review is solely my opinion

Cinderella meets her Prince Charming eventually. Khara meets Adam in Vegas when he tries to make a play for her. Fast forward to a year later. Khara is the sole bridesmaid when her friend Phoenix marries Archduke Max. Handsome playboy Adam is the best man.

As the wedding festivities progress Khara finds herself unwillingly falling for the handsome playboy. But Khara doesn’t feel like a Vegas bartender will have a future. It was tough enough for her character to fit in the wedding situations even after Adam volunteered to tutor her in royal etiquette

Up Close and Personal

This one didn't catch my attention and sadly I found myself skimming through much of the book just to reach the end.

I really liked this book and it was such a cute book! I really liked the characters. I liked that the dialogue was fast paced.

So I didn't realize this was part of another series of books, but I think that hindered my ability to properly connect with it. It made me feel like I was missing something, despite it being a standalone in the series. The characters and story didn't pull me in like I hoped they would. Oh well.

A little too cheesy for me, but I have been overloaded with romance novels lately.

Romy Summer's My Best Friend's Royal Wedding is a spin-off book from her primary royal romance books. Vegas bartender and waitress, Khara, is off to a small European country to be the bridesmaid to her best friend. Having already met the best man and deemed him a waste of her time, a very sexy waste of her time, she's not amused when he finds a way to invade every aspect of her visit. Adam, possibly soon to be heir to another small European country, is hiding out under the guise of being his best friend's best man, when he sets his eyes on the feisty and very not interested in him bridesmaid. I was provided an e-arc by Harper Impulse and Killer Reads via NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

A bit more on that spin-off thing first. From the way that I found this story, there was no indication that there were previous books related. However, after poking around GoodReads once I'd already finished, I found that some people were 1) surprised it was a spin-off, and 2) felt duped about it. Personally, I might not have picked it up if I'd known there were 3 other books that came first. That said, there was no issue in the book itself from missing the earlier books. Everything is introduced as if this is a new seperate book with no real gaps. Overall, while I'm unlikely to read the earlier books, I don't feel like they negatively impact the story by existing.

For the story itself, this is really a summer beach read romance, and is as simple and direct as you'd expect. There's a bit of a nice different take on the start where you get to see what happened a year before first, but everything else follows the usual flow. This is definitely an erotica romance. Sometimes it's a bit silly, but from beginning to end it was a fun read. Glad I picked it up!

review is scheduled to be posted April 16th, 2020. GoodRead's review will follow. Info will be updated here.

This was cute and fun, awfully fluffy, with some pretty one-note characters. I read it one sitting. A bit predictable, but that's what I'm looking for sometimes. :)

**MINI-REVIEW**

The Bottom Line: Yet another book where I find myself well and truly on the fence. The long and the short of it is this: I liked to idea of this story and I very much enjoyed the richly described and beautiful settings, but I had a hard time liking either Khara or Adam. Khara comes off as cynical and very chip-on-her-shoulder with a bad attitude about all men while Adam comes off as somewhat selfish and self-absorbed. It’s hard to truly enjoy a book when you don’t like the main characters. The saving grace, at least as far as characters go are the secondary characters. I liked nearly every one of the secondary characters, their attitudes, their liveliness, their involvement, and their encouragement of both Khara and Adam. Finally, I would caution all potential readers to know, from the beginning, this book is going to end exactly as you think it will. The ending is predictable, but if you’re OK with knowing the outcome from the first page and you’re a fan of surly main characters, I encourage you to give it a try. I warned you though 😊

With many thanks to the publisher and netgalley for providing me with this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book had parts that made me laugh and parts that dragged. While I read the story just fine, I am struggling a bit because I didn't overly dislike or liked the characters; I never connected with them, so that usually makes me harder for me to enjoy a story. It is a fluffy romance though, if that's what you're looking for.

The second I twigged that this book was the latest in the Westerwald series, I was incredibly happy, I do love Romy Sommer's adult fairy tales and this one is no exception.

I would say its the direct sequel to Waking Up In Vegas, as this story features front and centre Max and Phoenix's official royal wedding. And Khara has been asked to be the bridesmaid. Khara who lives in a trailer park and never left Vegas before, is suddenly getting a few weeks in Europe seeing just how the other half lives.

And it's best man Adam who tries his hardest to guide her when she is out of depth. Yet Adam isn't just some ordinary guy either and I really enjoyed seeing him try to become a better person, and see if he is going to step up into the new role he is considering.

I loved every moment of this book, the chemistry between Khara and Adam is very clear even if they are trying to deny it, and being able to catch up with the various members of the Westerwald royal family that I recall from the previous books was a joy in itself. Although this is the 5th book in the series, it can easily be read as a standalone, but I did love it all the more for having read the previous books.

Incredibly enjoyable and perfect escapism for these troubled times.

Thank you to Netgalley and One More Chapter for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily,

This was a soppy fairytale read. Fun and light. Yeah its unrealistic but c’mon guys, it’s a fiction novel. Perfect if you want a romance with a happy ending!

This story is a spin-off that I didn't know about and I was confused a little about some parts while reading.
Khara is a down to earth woman that worked as a waitress and now she needs to be a braids mate for her BFF who is wedding a prince! Adam is a prince and a playboy.
Those two will clash and will have to decide about their own paths.
I did not follow well those characters and I think that this story had potential but it was not used as it should have been, as I found characters not that likable.

Cute, light-heated, and a lil' cheesy, the perfect combination for a rom-com that was a perfect read in the middle of a few heavier books!

I was really excited to jump into this book as who doesn't love a bit of royal romance. Unfortunately this story fell a bit flat for me & I really struggled to connect with the characters
