This was a quick and fun read for me. It is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone. I haven’t read any other books in the series and had no issues with this one. If you like quick and easy romances this would work!

This is my first book by the author, but it definitely won't be my last. I found it to be fun, a tad cheesy, but it also had a bit more depth than I expected. I loved both main characters and found myself invested in their HEA. While this one is part of the Westerwald series, it can also be a standalone. I have not read the previous books and I still found this one enjoyable. If you enjoy a light hearted romcom with a little steam, you should definitely check this one out!

If you are looking for a fun, quick read and you love a royal romance, then this fits the bill. Khara is a cocktail waitress from Vegas whose best friend is marrying a prince, and who falls for the best man. It's certainly cliched - playboy royal tamed by a commoner - and at times it dragged a little for me - and whilst it won't go down as a classic, it kept me entertained and delivered what I expected. One caveat - this is part of a series and initially I did feel I was missing something in terms of understanding the backstory until I realised that, so I would recommend going back and reading the earlier books.

Though this is part of a series about the lives and loves of members of minor fictional European royal houses, I think this one can be read pretty well as a standalone. If you’ve read Phoenix and Max’s book, you’re probably going to love the fact that they get married in this one. In fact, their wedding is why this one happens, because Khara is drawn into royal circles when Phoenix asks Khara to be her bridesmaid.

Khara is a FIERCE heroine, a Vegas barmaid who shoots straight from the hip and takes no crap from anyone. She’s grown up hardscrabble and determined to depend on nobody but herself, because she’s learned the hard way that depending on other people only leaves her open to hurt when they let her down. She has an encounter with Adam, the hero in this book, a year before the main events of the book take place, and he acts like an absolute douche. It’s no surprise that when she meets him again, she’d definitely prefer to keep him at arms’ length. It’s quite simply self-preservation, and Adam’s own inner thoughts, when we’re privy to them, prove she’s absolutely right because he’s the shallowest of spoiled rich boys and most of his thoughts appear to center around how he can get into Khara’s pants.

Through the events of the book, we get to know Adam and discover he’s not completely awful, and in seeing himself through Khara’s eyes, he comes to realize he’s actually a pretty terrible person and consciously makes efforts to change. The problem for me as a reader is that he’s coming back from so far down that I’m not sure I believe in redemption when you haven’t actually paid any price for what you’ve done. Adam seems to have slept with literally every named female character in this book he isn’t related to, with the exception of the heroines of the author’s other books, and every one of those women thinks he’s an entitled scumbag but apparently would still like to marry him and be his princess. All The Other Women Are Awful isn’t a trope I like; it does no service to the heroine who was awesome in her own right without having to put other women down.

I really liked the way Khara took no nonsense from Adam and constantly called him out on his bad behaviour, but it does seem weird to call out ‘rich white male privilege’ when the character doing the calling out is also white. It would actually have created an even more interesting divide between the two of them if Khara was Black or Latinx; it felt like a missed opportunity that she was able to fit in just by changing her clothes and hair. Adam using his privilege to combat social injustice in a way that didn’t involve throwing money at a problem would have made him feel a lot more sympathetic, too. As it was, the only people he got to be nasty to in defence of Khara were other women who saw her as a rival, which wasn’t a good look for him.

If you’re coming into this looking for a light and fluffy read, this isn’t it, because Khara has some (very justified) chips on her shoulder and Adam has an awful lot of issues to work through, but if you’re looking for something a bit more social justice centric I don’t think this quite fits that bill either, because Adam really never has to face any consequences for his past behaviour. Khara’s awesome and he doesn’t deserve her, and I really struggled to root for them as a couple because of it. In the end, I’m afraid I can’t say this was any more than an OK read, and therefore I’m giving it three stars.

I wanted to love this book, unfortunately it was completely unrealistic and one of those books that I did not finish!

I was hoping for a cute royal romance when I picked My Best Friend’s Royal Wedding but it wasn’t what I expected and I was disappointed.
Khara was a waitress in Vegas, she was working hard to pay for her tuition and she was invited by her best friend, Phoenix, to be her maid of honor because Phoenix was marrying a prince.
Adam was a selfish douche, he was a rich guy that for the first time in his life was facing a hard choice in the midst of his best friend’s wedding, Max, that invited him to be his best man.
Honestly, I disliked Khara and Adam for the first half of the book or maybe even longer, I definitely didn’t warm up to Khara. She was so annoying, she kept judging everyone mainly because they were rich even before she set foot in the events or talked to people. I kind of get that she was used to see a lot of self entitled-grabby-drunk-rich guys going crazy in Vegas but she kept being judgy and whiny for most of the story, I can’t even recognize any self growth through the whole book, unless I count the fact she did give in to one of these guys she kept judging, Adam of course, but if that was supposed to be her growth… I don’t think it makes any sense so I’m not counting that. Adam was a selfish douche through most of the story but he was actually owning his flaws, he was perfectly aware of his way of life, he was mainly bored with it but he wasn’t interested in changing anything in his life. I didn’t really like him for most of the book but I actually liked his inner conflict about a choice he needed to make and I think that was the main reason I ended up enjoying the book. Adam had a lot of self growth during the story, even though it does take a while until we actually see it, I still enjoyed it. As a result of not liking the characters for most of the story, I didn’t care much for their chemistry and romance.
Overall, I enjoyed the setting, the pacing and how Adam’s character growth was done, so it ended up being an okay read.

This was a dnf for me. The formatting was fairly messed up and I honestly didn't see the appeal of either main character.

I REALLY REALLY wanted to like this so much!

I'd gone into it with maybe slightly higher expectations than what I should of, I think I was just in need of a cute and fluffy Chick Lit but this wasn't the one for me.

I tried giving this a shot several times and found it to not be the writing style for me. I had difficulty getting emersed to the book and it's characters for this reason. But thanks to Harper Impulse and Killer Reads for giving me the opportunity.

Honestly, my book had so many digital errors, it was difficult to read. I couldn't finish it. I think it might just be the digital copy I received , but I had no idea where one paragraph ended and then when it would move onto a new scene.

This one is a bit of a hit and miss for me. I usually love a royal romance novel and this one just missed the mark for me. The writing was good and had some fun elements that I enjoyed. What I really hated were the characters, which really makes the story. I couldn't stand Khara and Adam was just boring. While I'm writing this review I realize that maybe I didn't really enjoy this book that much.

Yikes. All I can say is yikes. Prepare yourselves.

If I was a less stubborn person, I would have DNF-ed this book. No question. It was not the book for me which is disappointing because I typically love stories that feature royalty and the hate-to-love trope.

From the start, I had major issues with the main characters. Whether it be from their individual personalities or their actions I'm not sure. Either way, I continued to dislike them no matter how hard I tried not to. Also, I understand this story is hate-to-love but the relationship seemed to go from hot to cold very quickly (and repeatedly). It seemed like everything was going fine when suddenly it was not. Even when the ice appeared to have thawed, there was namecalling that seemed immature and unreasonable.

I wish I could have liked this book more but it truly felt like a chore to read for the majority of the time. I found myself frequently losing interest and focus in the story which lead me to thinking about all of the good books out there that I could have been reading instead.

A fun and entertaining fairy tale romance featuring a reluctant prince (Adam) and a sassy Las Vegas cocktail and waitress (Khara). A bit predictable but overall I'd give My Best Friend's Royal Wedding 4 stars

Cocktail waitress Khara Thomas never expected to trade the dazzling lights of Vegas for European aristocracy but as maid of honour in the royal wedding of the decade she’s forced into an unexpected spotlight when her best friend marries a prince. She might just find that fairytales do come true…

I LOVED this book! It was such a good, quick and easy read! It was funny and easy to read. Yes, in form and structure it was your very typical romance novel - girl meets boy, girl doesn't really want boy, girl realises she wants boy, big problems happen and then they live happily ever after. However, it is still such a good read!

Very cute, quick rom com read. I enjoyed it just like I LOVE my Hallmark movies. (And yes, I would love it if this was made into a movie too!) I am looking forward to reading more from this author!

Riding was Adam’s only chance to be alone, away from the stifling confines of the family, work, and expectations and he resented the intrusion of the stretch limo and whoever was in it. Adam is so tired of everyone wanting things from him that he can’t give. Adam finally sees the man from the limo his name is Jonas he tells Adam his cousin Nick had died that morning. The man continued” your uncle requests a meeting with you.” Jonas then said” Now.” Uncle Lajos was the king of a small principality sandwiched at the junction of Austria, Hungry, and Slovenia. Now Adams Uncle Lajos wants Adam to be his heir. Adam could decline but he had a month to decide after Prince Nick’s funeral. Khara’s best friend Phoenix was to marry a prince. Actually Phoenix had married Max a year ago in a Vegas wedding the Kahara and her brother were there as attendants. Now Phoenix wanted Khara to be her only bridesmaid. Khara’s brother wouldn't attend as his girl was due to have a child right about that time. Phoenix wanted her to come and spend a month there with her during the preparations and the wedding. She talked Khara into agreeing to come be with her in Westerwald. Khara was a waitress in a Vegas casino and had met Phoenix a few months before she met Max. They had both worked at a casino bar and Phoenix was the closest friend Khara had ever had. Unlike all the other girls Khara grew up with, she never wanted a fairy tale life. She had never dreamed of fame and fortune. Khara believed in hard work. Khara remembers the man who was to be the best man from a year ago and how he made her feel small and insignificant if she were nothing more than an object something that could be easily his for the taking. He was doing it again while talking to Max. Khara thought how this man had even less chance than he did a year ago.
I enjoyed this book. I found it to be funny and easy to read romance. I Liked Adam and Khara together. I liked that Adam was willing to help Khara. I liked the slow burn of Khara and Adam’s romance. This kept my attention. I also liked seeing Adam and Khara change and grow. I liked the plot. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommended it.

I received a free ebook version of this from Netgalley. Thankyou to both Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this! My review is still honest.

My Best Friend's Royal Wedding is oddly enough, about our main character Khara's best friend's wedding to a prince. While enjoying the festivities of the run-up to the wedding, Khara meets the best man Adam, who is also connected to a royal family.
This review will be quite short, as I really don't have too much to say. There was nothing overly wrong with this book, I liked it, but it wasn't memorable and I wouldn't necessarily think of it often enough to recommend to someone. I did like the relationship and chemistry between Khara and Adam, but I found the pacing to be a little off and felt there should have been more exploration of both characters outside of their relationship with each other.
I did like the political aspect of the small European nations, but this could have been explored more. I thought the grief and self blame experienced by Adam was very well written, but again, could have been featured more. I did enjoy Khara's background story and her struggles with her mother and her origins. I just think this book needed editing a little more-some bits could have been cut down to make way for more interesting aspects.
Best part of this book though-Khara has blue hair, I really appreciate that as a bright haired girl! Can someone please write a book about a girl with bright purple hair please?

This was exactly the kind of book I love to read: Spunky heroine, flawed but lovable hero, romance, and just enough of a farfetched storyline to keep it fresh and fun. I love books that take me to faraway places and give you a fun peek into a life you'll never lead (hello royals! haha) If you enjoy lighthearted romances, you'll like this one! Publish date: Jan 29th! Snag this one now. :)

My Best Friend's Royal Wedding was a quick, fast paced read. If you like over the top royal issues and problems, then this book is definitely for you. It wasn't quite my cup of tea and I didn't feel any connection at all between Khara and Adam.
