What initially attracted me to Something That Could Last was the fantastically done cover.
The story was interesting enough, although I felt like the blurb was a little bit misleading. I was expecting the story to reach a point of angst or conflict which never really happened. However, now I realize that was because the story ended on a cliffhanger (which I’ll be honest, I hate a little bit especially when there’s no set publication date for a second book.)
Regardless, the story was well written and I was surprised to find that this was author Ashley Cade’s first book. While the story was at times clichéd, it still managed to keep my interest and it was written well enough to warrant 3 stars from me.
Truthfully, however, I did find myself a bit more interested in the story hinted at between Tiff and Ethan so I hope that the author chooses to write a book giving us a bit more of a backstory into their interesting dynamic. I particularly enjoyed Jacob’s character and going forward I am interested to see how his family’s affluent lifestyle impacts his relationship with Abby.
I definitely think Something That Could Last has potential. However, I do feel like the relationship between the two main characters progressed a little bit too easily, especially considering their drastically different lifestyles. While I’m not the type of person who needs a story to have a lot of drama or angst, it didn’t feel like the book was intending to be a super lighthearted romance, so I look forward to seeing where the author chooses to take the story in the next book.

This was my first book by this author. The story was pretty good. I didn’t like that it ended up in a cliffhanger!!
Something about it felt very cliche but it was an easy read. Thank you for the arc.

A wonderful story about falling in love when you least expect it. Abby is a hard working college student from West Virginia while Jacob is a privileged young man from a wealthy political family from Virginia. They are different in many ways but bond over the many ways that they are the same. Both have lost family members and have strained relationships with their mothers. Their love felt real and not forced just for the sake of the storyline. The ending was questionable but it definitely left me wanting more. This would be a great summer book to enjoy by the pool or at the beach. I recommend enjoying it after it's release in early May 2019. I am grateful that I received an ARC from Netgalley in return I have offered an honest review.

This was a sweet, sexy romance. I really enjoyed the story and development of the relationship. I particularly liked how there wasn't any false angst created to give the book a sense of suspense.

I liked the main characters, including the supporting characters....the best friends. I'm hoping to get more of their stories.

The only negative was the ending. It was a bit of a cliffhanger. This seems to be the trend now, which i don't like.

Thanks to net gallery for an advance copy of this book, which did not affect my review.

This book was really good and that ending...ahhh! Abby and Jacob meet and have a summer fling that turns to love. He's a rich, city boy and she's a poor, country girl, but they make it work. Their 2 friends, Tiff and Luke, really weren't my cup of tea, but I came around to them. I hated that the book ended on kind of a cliff hanger and can't wait to read the next one!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this free arc!

I don't read a ton of New Adult romances but I really enjoyed this one for the most part. Abby is a shy but strong woman living in West Virginia and meets Jacob while he is visiting WV for the summer. They both seem to fall for each other very fast and I felt like they had great chemistry. I read this in one sitting because the story was not predictable, which made it too hard to put down. I hope to read a sequel soon!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this free ARC.

Abby hates being late and hastily gets ready.Abby is convinced to go to a party and sees her cheating ex.Abby and Tiff have some peach flavored moonshine. She has a killer headache the next morning. She has a job at an adventure company and also works as a waitress at her aunt's restaurant.Abby has scholarships and grants but still need money for tution. She also helps her grandmother with the bills Caleb is a creep and is always staring at her. When Abby falls into the arms of a handsome stranger she instantly feels an attraction. His name is Jacob and he's on vacation to WV with his best friend Luke.I liked how mature and hard working Abby is. Luke party's and is constantly with a new woman but has a great gpa.Jacob has to study all the time to maintain his gpa.Im not a huge fan of cussing in books. I got turned off by the sex scenes. I envisioned a handsome man but just wasn't in the mood for sexy stuff. Maybe come back later and change my review.
