I think I'm in love... not with Jo, not with the sexy Corrado, not with the city of Rome.. but with T.A. Williams latest adorable labrador, Daisy. She is adorable, clearly cares about not only Corrado but takes a very fast liking to Jo too. I was always smiling when I was reading about her.

Of course she isn't meant to be the star of the book, those other things I mentioned really are, and its once again clear how much the author clearly loves travel and Italy, as it shines through in his words. I'm also pleased to say its not just Rome featured, but some other locations too which are equally wonderful.

I did though find it took me a while to fully get into this book, possibly because our two main leads neither of them believe in love, and they have so much in common it was frustrating me that they couldn't see what me as a reader could see which is that they were clearly made for each other.

I loved Jo's main passion outside of work, was butterflies, I learnt so much about the various species that exist, and found myself with the word "Lepidoptera" running over and over in my head, after seeing it a few times in the book. I literally had butterflies on the mind, although I've never managed to get as close to one as Jo did to take photos or video.

I believe there is a message in this book about the environment, conservation and the use of plastics, its rather subtle but fairly sure its there, but given Jo's occupation its not overly surprising.

Although It took a while to get going for me, once I was, I was enthralled, and was enjoying every moment of it.

Thank you to much to Netgalley and Canelo for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

A great easy read love story set mostly in Rome.
Great descriptions of Rome; it's history, food, drink and of course romance.
Jo and Corrado's siblings are due to marry the following year. These two connect because they both have an interest in nature and conservation.
Both decide that they must remain friends only but is it a battle they will find hard to fight?

I enjoyed the fact that the protagonist was a smart driven woman who could stand on her own and went after what she wanted and deserved. However, when she found love, she knew this doesn't happen often as well and added it to benefit her life. A heartwarming tale.

This is the third book by T.A. Williams that I have read, and I enjoyed it just as much as the others. I do like this author's writing style. His books promise you a strong sense of place, romance, a dog you're going to fall in love with above the characters, and more besides. This particular story looks at environmental issues, and we also learn a lot about butterflies. It's a good read and one which held my attention throughout. I have to say though that what happens towards the end of the book, between the two main characters, is a tad cliched. I can't believe the heroine fell for it. I knew what he was doing, even if she didn't!

Last night I did something that I can't remember having done since I was a young kid - I stayed up past my bedtime to finish a book. I don't think I've done that since I was having to hide under my covers so that my parents wouldn't tell me to go to sleep.

This story is definitely not without it's faults or issues - the love story isn't perfect, and I guessed what the ending might have been a few chapters before it came. But did that stop me from staying up late in order to get there? No it did not. I fell in love with the characters (not least of which is a charming dog by the name of Daisy) and the relationships, and the setting made me want to jump immediately on a plane and fly back to Italy and never come back.
Without going into too much of the plot, I will also say that issues of the environment and conservation also play a huge role in this story, and it is handled beautifully.

Over all I highly recommend this book!
Thanks so much to the publisher and NetGalley for the advanced copy!

Jo meets her future brother-in-law in Rome. Corrado is known as a bit of a playboy, and has made a lot of money from his business - just the kind of man Jo has sworn to stay away from. When she is back in town for work they spend more time together, both knowing that if they give in to any attraction then it could make things awkward for the rest of their families.
When she has to choose between her career or love which will she choose?

Loved the setting of the book - it makes you want to book a holiday to Italy straight away!

I am a fan of the author and I love his writing. This story was no exception. He has the unique ability to describe the locations he writes about in such a way you are transported to foreign lands and can picture the scenes in your head.

There is something which runs through most of the stories the author writes, and that is a dog. The dog featured in this one is a black lab called Daisy, a buoyant young lady with loads of energy. The fact this is a common theme in his books endears them to me even more.

I’m not going to go into the storyline as I don’t like spoiling anything. Suffice to say the love story part is not without its issues. Also there is a very strong message running throughout which deals with the environment, this is dealt with extremely well.

Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing a copy.

This book is perfect beach reading or saved for a rainy day. I chose the book because of its title. I've spent a lot of time in Rome. It was fun to be transported to such a magical city. The book was a perfect afternoon escape.
