An interesting mix of art, architecture, gardening, history, geometry, royalty, and more; all rolled into some interesting stories and the brilliant people from our past that established the basis for our lives today. Plus, you will have renewed appreciation for many things we take for granted, such as mirrors. Very well researched and well told/explained content. Recommended! 4.5 stars.

While not relevant to this review, I bounced between Proof and Richard Powers' The Overstory, which is the exact opposite of this book (fiction vs nonfiction, geometry vs trees/life), which made for an interesting contrast.
