I just couldn't get into this one- I really love the enemies to lovers trope and this one had an interesting premise, but I just didn't like the main guy.

Fun romantic comedy, beach read. Cute characters. Quick, easy read that will make you smile. I've read better, but I've also read much worse. Decent summer read.

I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.

Honestly, I picked this up completely on a whim. It showed up on my doorstep and at that point I hadn’t even heard of this book coming out. I was sold on it because of the cover and it just sounded extremely fun. I’m so glad I gave it a shot! CRASHING THE A-LIST was a super fun and fast paced book. I completely enjoyed myself.

Our heroine Clara has been unemployed for four months and is now living with her brother. Her future sister in law gets her a job to clear out repossessed storage units for her uncle to make some money while she sends out more resumes to publishing houses. While clearing out a unit she finds documents about an escort service and a file on one particular escort who now happens to be an A-List British actor. One drunk call and a misunderstanding later and he’s standing in her living room accusing her of blackmailing him with that information. And after the paparazzi see them together, a fake relationship follows to give some good press to his next movie.

If there’s one thing I can tell you about this book is that it was such a fun reading experience. It’s filled with great and funny one liners that will have you laughing out loud at every turn of the page. From Clara’s relationship with her best friend, everything she goes through while clearing out all those storage units, and the romance that develops from enemies to lovers to a real connection. This was one entertaining book!

Now for the romance. I actually consider this book more of a chick lit than a contemporary romance. The romance to me was not the focus of the story. It was more of the extremely funny experiences our heroine is going through at this point in her life. And it just so happens that there’s a romance somewhere in there as well. It’s kind of slow moving, which I appreciated given the circumstances. But also fair warning that it is fade to black. In the end, I was ok with all of that and enjoyed this book. But it may be good going in with those expectations. I think it’s a perfect poolside read and I’ll definitely be on the lookout for more from this author.

A fun, light read. There were a couple of parts that resulted in a cringe but overall there were moments that made me smile and want to keep reading.

Ok, so the characters for the most part just sucked. I didn't like any of them but I did like the story. I think the story would have been great if the characters could have been likable. I loved the mom out of all of them but she wasn't in the book much. There was just too much back and forth and not enough believability. I received this book as an ARC and am voluntarily giving my opinion.

This was a really cute, quick, gossipy read. Perfect for a summer afternoon with an Aperol spritz. I think fans of Lauren Weisberger, Sophie Kinsella, and Candace Bushnell will love it!

What a fun, quick summer read! I was sucked in right away and couldn’t put it down. I liked that feeling of seeing a part of a VIP world that I otherwise wouldn’t get to see.

Clara may have lost her job, but after months getting nowhere, she takes a temporary job cleaning out abandoned storage units. She strikes big when she comes across some information about British actor, Caspian Tiddleswich that her bestie knows could make her rich.

Somehow, while trying to confirm she WON’T tell his secret, she’s mistaken as his new girlfriend by the paparazzi, and finds herself falling for his charms.

WHAT a unique sequence of events, I will say I’ve definitely never read a book quite like this one, but I just REALLY did not like Caspian’s character one bit and struggled getting through this one because of it.

All the rom-com feels are here. This books starts well with plenty of humor, wit, and fun dialogue. It lost steam for me about halfway through the story because I didn’t find the love interest likeable, but he did keep it suspenseful. Fortunately, it has a good ending!

I think the best part of the book was the friendship between Clara and Cici. Cici was interesting and quirky, and I loved their friendship. I also appreciate that the author let Clara stay true to herself. She didn’t allow Caspian’s personality or celebrity change who she was.

Thank you to Net Galley and Harlequin-MIRA for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

POV : Clara

Clara has lost her job and is crashing at her brother's apartment and gets a temporary job of cleaning out abandoned storage units. While cleaning she comes across some papers of British actor Caspian Tiddleswich. Due to a misunderstanding, he thinks she is trying to blackmail him. It is a hate to love rom-com type story. It moved slowly. Had some fun moments. Clara's friend Cici was a wonderful secondary character. Caspian was quick to judge without thought.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the eARC

This was such a fun and hilarious rom-com! I loved the premise of it, as it was so unique and different from anything else I’ve read!
Our main character is Clara, a recently unemployed book editor who is cleaning out storage units to make some money. She finds a storage unit full of escort receipts. Many of those receipts are from Caspian, a famous actor. Caspian thinks Clara leaked this information to the press (she did not) and blackmails her into being his pretend girlfriend in return. This spells a recipe for disaster as you can only imagine.
Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Traveling With T’s Thoughts:

Blame it on Really Into This– Sarah has been posting and reviewing some great books with fun covers lately- kinda of a mix of a chick-lit meets a romance-y book. And so when this book was pitched to me, I decided to give it a try because: 1. Sarah has been enticing my reading mind with covers like this. 2. It’s summer and sometimes you just need some (literary) eye-candy.

What I liked:

The cover. SO eye-catching. Plus, I don’t have nearly enough red covers in my life.

Clara and Cici- their “ride or die” friendship was entertaining. Plus, their dialogue- so funny at times.

The ending. Was fairly sweet and gave me a smile.

What I didn’t love:

Ok, so we all know that Clara and Caspian are going to end up together. If you don’t know this, well, I just can’t talk to you. We know there will be conflict, moments of like/lust, a big kerfluffle that will de-rail the HEA momentum and then kiss and make up and HEA!

So, I can deal with that. In fact I like that. I don’t pick books with HEA type endings for their realistic feel.

But, Clara and Caspian… it was so much rinse and repeat dialogue, scenarios. It was like I was basically reading the same pages over and over again. They did have some good moments some times- but this was a couple that was on the way to HEA who def had some missed “awwwwwwwwwww, romance” moments.

Bottom line: For me, I don’t regret reading it and it was entertaining pool time reading- but I wanted to really enjoy Clara and Caspian more than I did.

The characters are great, the twists and turns are fun...dialogue is fantastic! While you can kind of figure out were the story line is going, it is oh so much fun getting there!

Clara is a book editor who has fallen on some tough times- jobless, apartment-less, she has moved onto her younger brother's couch and has picked up a job clearing out abandoned storage units. Can things get any worse? While clearing out the units, her and her best friend Cici uncover a treasure trove of secret documents that could implicate a very famous celebrity in a prostitution ring. Should she sell the paperwork to the highest bidder... she is unemployed after all! What ends up happening is meeting face to face with the celebrity himself, Caspian Tiddleswich. Clara is suddenly brought into the spotlight, and she might just be in over her head. This was a really great read, Clara sense of humour really comes through the story which I wasn't expecting, I actually laughed out loud of a lot of the story. This is a great light read!
