I'm not gonna summarise the book in my review, read the synopsis, that's the purpose of it.

To be honest I have expectations for this book to be cliche as heck. We all know the fake dating game is everywhere. A solid 95% of those books are super cliche, unoriginal and has the same freaking plot (aka 100% predictable ) But you know this is a guilty pleasure of mine reading these kind of books.......well depends on my mood but I sometimes do enjoy reading it. I also loveee hate-to-love romance :DD if anyone have any good recs please comment down below I'd hugely appreciate it.

I'm happy to announce this book is part of the 5%.

This book had me hate HATE Cas at first. He really pulled major asshole moves on Clara and I'm pissed reading it. Thank god Clara is a smart and strong women she can handle herself and stand strong (mostly) This book made me feel so bad for Clara I almost cried for her. T.T poor clara. It will make you feel for them. Does this make any sense?

You have to give credit to the author for the plots originality because I could not guess it most of it. And the reason for the way he treated her was kinda twisted but could be realistic in some sense which is kinda genius.

The pace runs at a nice speed and does not feel dragged on and yet could keep you reading till the end. You will enjoy it from the first page to the end. What I love about hate-to-love books is that they normally include witty convos and hilarious encounters which I enjoy reading a lot. This book is a light read/ beachy read? and can definitely give you a laugh while reading.

Bonus: There was a brief mention of Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans in the book, lets just say the author has good tastes.

Keeping it light at the moment, Crashing the A-List was a rom com that gave me just the escape I needed.

Overall, I thought the premise of the book was good. Clara was enjoyable to read. The relationship between her and her best friend Cici brought some many lol moments that just made me want to be a part of their bff club.

Clara and Caspian were up and down for me. The fake aspect of the storyline is always fun because you never know where its going to lead. His douche tool moments rubbed me the wrong way for a while and probably the reason it affected my perception of his character and its experience with him. I will say where the relationship leads to in the end redeems a little but had the potential to be more.

Overall, Cici and Clara made this worth the read. I could’ve read just them forever. With everything altogether it was a good read that keeps it light and fun.

I'm not sure what I was expecting when I picked up this book, but I wasn't expecting to have SO much fun.
Because, this book? It's F-U-N.
It's the perfect "step in a mud pit and dig your way out of it awkward" fun.
The dialogue is snappy and funny, the back and forth is awkward and delicious.

Seriously, this is the perfect beach read. Or stuck in the house because the kids are sick and you need a break read.

Just a sweet, kind of silly novel that's utterly forgettable and absolutely 150% enjoyable! I really liked Crashing the A-List. Will I remember it in six months? Probably not, but it's definitely something that I will pass along to readers who seem like they just need a fun distraction. And you cannot knock fun distractions, sometimes they are just what you need!

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. You can receive your copy here: https://www.amazon.com/Crashing-List-Summer-Heacock-ebook/dp/B077ZSY9L5/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=crashing+the+a+list&qid=1569192074&s=digital-text&sr=1-2The arduous task of sifting through storage units that seem to contain items before the turn of the century seems daunting, until some papers unveil receipts from a Brothel. If you were down on your luck and had just a few pennies left in your pocket, what would you do for money? I ask this question to myself on a daily basis. What is my lowest acceptable per hour rate? When you have a college degree and you are sucking at life, these are real life situations that REAL people are faced with. This book was very real to me and very humbling. I cannot imagine sifting through someone else's crap looking for valuable items without Air Conditioning in the heat of summer and trying to just stumble upon something that is gonna take me from zero to hero. What if you and a friend were to do this and after some alcohol and some access to emails, a blackmail situation arises and well a situation goes from what if to what is? How would you handle a fake to reality situation? This book takes us through something based on uh oh to what is and then from fake it to make it. So much happens in this book between two people that would never have met if these documents did not exist in a storage unit. I loved most of this book, there were some lows that took it to OMG, NOOO, but overall this book was great and I really enjoyed it while sunning myself poolside. I look forward to whatever Summer has coming up in her next novel!

Romance novels that involve Hollywood in some format are a weakness of mine. I will immediately want to add it to my reading list. Crashing The A-List was no exception when it came to my attention. It turns out that this novel really has the best of both worlds - it involves a Hollywood actor, but is set mostly in New York. Summer Heacock has infused a Hollywood love interest into a story that only sort of involves Hollywood. The reader gets something that ends up feeling more realistic, less wish fulfillment, and an all together fun read.

When we meet Clara she is having the worst luck. She's just lost her job and has to move in with her brother while looking for a new one. She's feeling more than a little sorry for herself and what her future holds. She's a bit of a mess, but an entirely relatable one. She's the type of character that the reader immediately identifies with because of her imprefections. The author wasn't afraid of making Clara flawed. It is her owning up to her mistakes that makes the reader love her.

Caspian Tiddleswich is, as you probably guessed, inspired by certain famous British actor who has played both a world famous detective and a superhero (and it is not Robert Downey Jr). Anyone who is a fan will delight in the comparisons found within the novel. Heacock has ensured that Caspian becomes a fully developed character however, and not just a stand in. The readers will equally delight in the things that make up the character of Caspian that have nothing to do with his inspiration. It takes a bit to get past his frosty demeanour but he ends up being a rather fantastic love interest.

The romance is, naturally, a rocky one. Miscommunication is culprit of much of this couples woes. They both tend to react rashly and strongly before talking which leads to plenty of misunderstandings. There is some great banter that happens between Clara and Caspian but there are also a lot of moments that just feel a little too aggressive and mean. Care is taken to balance this by showing the characters having real remorse for their actions, and actually admitting wrongdoing and apologizing. They both can be abrasive at times, but Caspian's demeanor can be repellent at time and I am glad that is addressed in a meaningful way. He is properly contrite and, more importantly, actively wants to change. It's refreshing and showcases that only real apologize for bad behaviour is the modification of that behaviour.

Clara's friendship with CiCi is the true heart of the story. Their friendship is supportive, honest, and caring. They felt more like the closest of sisters than just best friends. They can call each other out on their bullshit in a way that shows how much they care about each other. I appreciated a female friendship that didn't have even a hint of jealousy, backstabbing, or competition. I would love a companion novel that was CiCi's story because she really was a stand out character.

This is a fast paced, enjoyable read that felt like it would appeal to both those who love Hollywood inspired stories and those who typically do not. It won me over with its banter filled romance, sweet friendship, and actual repercussions for bad behaviour. I predict romance readers will love it and immediately want to get their hands on whatever Summer Heacock writes next.

I wasn't a big fan of this book - the love interest was so unlikeable I didn't want Clara to end up with him! On the bright side, there were some very funny moments and I enjoyed the conversations between Clara and her best friend CiCi! The writing style was fun and entertaining, but sadly the feelings I had about Caspian made me almost not want to finish the book!

Thanks to Summer Heacock, Mira Books and NetGalley for the ARC of this book.

I didn't really enjoy this much as the main love interest is portrayed in a bad light which made me dislike him too much for me to want him to have a happy ending. Just missed the mark for me.

Silly but fun chick lit novel about a woman, who through circumstances too convoluted to explain quickly, ends up having to pose as the girlfriend of a famous actor even though they mutually hate each other at first sight. The actor is so blatantly a stand-in for Benedict Cumberbatch that this book is practically fan fiction. If you've ever read a chick lit novel or watched a rom com, you will know right from the start that their fake and animosity-filled relationship will morph into something else over time but it will be a bumpy road, but it's still fun to read even though it is predictable and the characters are written a bit broadly.

The title of this book is a bit cumbersome, but fortunately the rest of the book is quite cute. A traditional hate-to-love-romance with likeable characters (although I had a hard time to still like Caspian after his fierce attack towards the end). But even more than the romance I liked reading the parts with Clara and CiCi. Their dialogues were often hilarious, the right amount of wit and sarcasm. I loved them, and often thought of Jess & Cece from "New Girl" when reading some of their scenes.

I was never bored during the story, although Clara and Caspian don't share so many scenes. At the end the author was laying it on quite thick with the fight, as well as with Claras thoughts before and at the premiere night and also the elaborate apology. A bit less of all three would have been sufficient. But I enjoyed the book nevertheless.

Crashing the A-List was a fun read! I love a good fake romance turned steamy love affair and this was just that. I really appreciated the fact that Clara was adamant about earning her place in the editing world on her own merits rather than riding the coattails of her fake boyfriend. There's a lot to be said for the respect of women and the work we do rather than an expectation of us to be carried through life by out significant other.

This novel also had strong familial and friendship ties, which I always appreciate - those are the relationships that get us through so many staged of life.

This book is cute and fluffy. However, it is very long and I feel like it would benefit greatly from a good editorial trim, which is kind of ironic based on the profession of the main character. (She's a book editor!) I liked it.. mostly.. but it's not a favorite and I'm not even sure if I'd recommend. In a sea of cute, fluffy books, I'd pick one that's shorter.

After Clara losses her job and is stuck on her brothers couch, her future sister in law gets her a job emptying out storage units. This is where her fun begins. She is directed to look at everything closely and if it is of importance not to throw it away. What she finds can change her life.
Caspian Tiddleswich is a famous actor who made a bad decision in his youth. When something is found from this that can ruin his career he sets out to find the person who is holding this information.

I thought this book was comical from beginning to end. it did have some slow areas in the book but overall it was good.

Crashing The A-List will bring two opposite people together in the most unexpected way.
Clara is a hardworking book editor that it was shocking that she lost her job. It is always devastating when someone lose their job cause that is their livelihood. But Clara is a tough women that she can roll with it. She is doing some part-time job that she discover a whole of secrets. Those secrets cannot be destroyed but unexpectedly, she blurts it out to the person which they think it is blackmail. It was an accident, it happens. No one is perfect. And Caspian needs to relax cause Clara has explained it was a mistake.I definitely appreciate Clara character because she is willing to admitted her wrongs. However, I have mixed feelings regarding Caspian. Some people may like him but I kinda don't. He expects too much from everyone that he needs to chill. Relax yourself, buddy. Everyone is on the same page but everyone progresses things differently. Caspian needs to work on his self especially his trust issues. You cannot move forward without trusting someone especially if they did not burn you. It's something that Caspian needs to figure out.
Clara and Caspian relationship may start off slow but they do have cute chemistry for each other. Chemistry cannot save everything since they have the same fights over and over. They need to communicate if they want their relationship to go.
3 Stars

This was a fun rom-com with an interesting plot and a heroine with scruples. Clara has lost her job and started cleaning out storage units to make some money. She finds "escort" pictures of a famous actor, Caspian Tiddlewich, and contacts him so she can return them. Unfortunately, another employee releases the information to the press and Caspian thinks Clara is blackmailing him. They make a deal where she pretends to be his girlfriend so he can have someone to take to movie premieres etc. When does pretend affection turn real?

I really enjoyed this book and it's characters and highly recommend it.

Hello Hollywood!!

As a result of a not so friendly take-over, Clara lost her job as an editor in a publishing house. Landing her squarely on her brothers’ couch, reduced to emptying deserted storage units to make a few extra dollars.

Rifling through one of the many boxes she’s clearing, she discovers some potentially damaging information regarding one of Britain’s heartthrobs. One who is now making a splash on this side of the pond!
So…should she bury it? Or is there a way to twist this to her advantage and make some real money off of it. After all, a girls gotta live... right!? But can she live with the consequences?

This read was slow to gain some footing. I had little interest in the main character and continued waiting for it to gel. Some sections felt forced, as though it was just trying too hard. Gladly, the further I read, the more I started to enjoy! By the end I was left with my silly rom com grin on my face!!

I can absolutely see this book being made into a movie. I think Renée Zellweger would make the perfect Clara! (Hollywood...are you listening!?). I watched the movie play out in my mind as I was reading the book! All I needed was my bag of popcorn!

Another rom com weekend read with Susanne!!

Thank you to Netgalley, Harlequin - Mira and Summer Heacock for an ARC to read and review.

Due to a business change by her employer, Clara Montgomery has lost her job as a book editor. She has a lot of feelers out there, but for now she is down on her luck. She is currently living on her brother's couch and has been forced to take a job cleaning out storage facilities.

In one unit, she happens upon some shocking and scandalous information. She has discovered proof of a former escort service and is stunned to see the name of a successful British actor among the many names. His name is Caspian Tiddleswich and her best friend has all but convinced Clara to sell Caspian's story to the tabloids.

Although Clara seriously considers it, she decides not to do so. However, she did make contact with him and he immediately accuses her of blackmail. Well, he literally puts the shoe on the other foot. He insists that Clara act as his girlfriend certain opportunities in public, hoping that the paparazzi will be convinced that he is off the market. This will take Caspian quite far when it comes to promoting his latest film.

Clara and Caspian knock heads every step of the way. She wants out, but he holds the upper hand. Neither one of them expects that their fake romance might actually lead to much more. Meanwhile, Clara is feverishly trying to hunt down another editing job.

This was an enjoyable story. I absolutely loved the dynamic between Clara and her best friend, CiCi. I also enjoyed the development of the relationship between Clara and Caspian. Many things made it seem unlikely, and I loved the road that it took to get there. I enjoyed this book by Summer Heacock and I look forward to reading more by her in the future.

Many thanks to Mira Books and to NetGalley for this ARC to review in exchange for my honest opinion.
