Summer Heacock is my new bff! I had so much fun reading #CrashingTheA-List that I did absolutely nothing else today. If you love handsome British actors and hilarious situations you're going to love this book!

Loved this- it's only the second romance novel I've read this year, and I am getting more and more positive that this book is what is spurring me on.
The whole premise of regular gal ending up with a celebrity because of unusual circumstances- pulled me right in. Add in the fact that she worked in publishing and it was right up my alley. Clara loses her job in as a book editor, has to move in with her brother and ends up taking a job cleaning out storage units- yuck.
A series of events lead her to a famous guy, and she ends up "fake dating" him- which turns into real dating- which made me laugh out loud. This is hilarious and real and perfect for reading at the beach this summer.

I read this book so fast, and was sad that I read it too fast. It was so cute and charming, but still heartfelt and romantic.

Quite a good read, kept me engaged, really enjoyed the plot and the characters and i would read more from this author.

This is an amazing read, I absolutely loved it. Firstly I can not remember the last time I laughed this hard reading a book, the author did an absolutely fantasticly amazing job at her conversations. The ones between Clara and Cici are by far the best but even those between Clara and her mother had me rolling on the floor. Just can not state enough how much I loved this book. The character are also amazing, they are each dynamic on their own, but together they just flow so well together. I also enjoyed how the author approached the romance portion of the story, nothing was rushed, which I loved, it built great suspense and drama that added to the humor to just keep the pages turning. Its a great fun read, that you will definitely not be able to put down. I highly highly recommend this book. I think everyone would enjoy reading this, but if you are a romance reader this is definitely one you do not want to miss out on, you will absolutely love it. definitely a five star read!

Ahhhhhh this book was just so good. I just couldn't get enough of it. I'm so excited to see what's next from this author.

An easy read but well paced and funny. I enjoyed Summer Heacock’s style of writing and spent a happy few hours reading this novel.
For anyone who likes category romance (and there are many of us) I’m sure they’ll love this book and I’ll definitely read more by this author.

I was really intrigued by this story but it didn't work out for me.
The main reason is I didn't enjoy the author's voice and humor.
I knew the situations were supposed to be funny and Clara was supposed to be quirky and fun but I couldn't feel it.
It was flat to me and not engaging in the slightest. I'm sure many will love it. Humor is a very hard thing to do. You can't won everybody over as you can with a good tear-jerker. We all laugh to different things. Crashing the A-list didn't fit my kind of comedy.

Well this was fun! Was nice to read something “light” after too many heavy reads lately. Clara is a great lead character. Her best friend Cici is one that every girl should have. Lots of laughs! Not hard to figure out who should play Caspian if it ever goes to the big screen! A very enjoyable book that I will recommend to both young and old.

If I could give this story more than 5 stars I would. I absolutely loved both this story and Clara.
Clara, a former book editor in NYC has been let go from her job, kicked out of her apartment, and forced to sleep on her brother’s couch. She’s not been able to find a job, so she takes one cleaning out storage units that she was able to get because of her brother’s fiancée’s Uncle Charlie (who might or might not have certain connections). While going through documents in one of the units, she stumbles across something that could ruin a very well-known British actor. One drunken phone call later and that same British actor has his sights set on Clara and he’s out for blood.
Caspian’s been waiting for the other shoe to drop for years now. An ill-conceived plan when he was young didn’t come to pass, but the proof of his plan was still out there, and it would be worth a lot of money to some unscrupulous person who could sell it to the tabloids and ruin him.
A rambling phone call from a stranger brings all his fears crashing down. Determined to keep his secret, he sets out to find Clara and force her to keep silent. What he didn’t know and didn’t believe was the woman he actually finds. When she made the call, she was drunk and rambling, she didn’t even know she’d made the call until the day Caspian showed up at her brother’s apartment and confronts her. She attempts to explain, but he refuses to believe her. What ensues next is a plan to help him and contain her.
Can the two work together? All signs point to no and reading this story will have you wondering what Caspian’s going to do next.
I absolutely fell into this story. The writing is witty and charming, the many sides of Caspian can be both frustrating and endearing. Thank you for allowing me to read and review such a great story!!

Delightful madcap romp with a mistaken blackmail scheme, red carpets & a hot British actor that absolutely does not resemble our favorite Sherlock strange superhero for legal reasons.

I absolutely adored Crashing the A-List. Heacock's newest book made me laugh out loud and made it impossible to put the book down. An excellent book for the summer.

I'd give this 2.5 stars if I could but I can't so I rounded up.

This was an okay read. I needed something lighter and it majorly delivered there! But it was a bit too much of everything for me to really enjoy. It was too contrived, too unrealistic, too repetitive at times. The characters were either too aloof or too dramatic. It didn't seem grounded enough in reality for me.

That said, I did enjoy parts of it. I felt compelled to finish it, at the very least. I wanted it to all work out for the best. And I wanted to continue reading more CiCi because I thought she was HYSTERICAL! She was hands-down my favorite part.

I wouldn't recommend this but I think that comes down more to personal taste than anything.

Clara always planned that she’d build her career in her twenties. But when 30 hit, Clara lost her book publishing job due to changes in the company. Finding it hard to get another job in the very competitive field, Clara is crashing with her younger brother and cleaning out storage units to make money.

While carefully sorting out a storage unit, Clara finds some very incriminating papers. It’s records kept by a prostitution ring. When she tells her best friend Cici, her friend rushes over in the hopes of finding dirt on a sleazy politician. What they actually find is about a very famous celebrity. It would appear that the actor Caspian worked as a prostitute himself almost twenty years ago.

Clara never has any intention of hurting him with the news. She is consistently a good person in this story. She’s had some bad luck but she hasn’t made many bad choices. She actually plans to reach Caspian to let him know that she’s found out his secret and destroyed the evidence. But what she actually does is drink too much one evening and leave him a concussing voice mail. It makes Caspian think that she’s threatening him, that she wants to go to the media.

He confronts her and hers caught by the paparazzi who now think Clara is his girlfriend.
Now both Clara and Caspian practically hate each other but Caspian needs his image to stay intact. His team think he needs to be seen with his girlfriend, having made amends.
So Caspian threatens Clara, if she doesn’t go to several public outings as his girlfriend he will turn her over to the police for blackmailing him.

What happens next isn’t predictable. I admit to assuming they would automatically fall in love with very little additional drama. But Caspian was actually a huge jerk to her. The reader definitely starts to wonder whether we even want Clara to fall for him. He kind of seems like a jerk. And Clara is a good person who has been paying for her error way more than she should have had to.

I won’t say whether Caspian changes his tune or whether they do fall in love. I won’t say whether there’s additional drama. Anything else borders into spoiler territory.

I enjoyed the story, I thought if was unique. I liked that this story gave us a likable character in Clara and a wonderful best friend for Clara in CiCi. She’s a fun character. Everyone should have a CiCi.

This book was humorous for sure. Summer Heacock uses a lot of wit and comedy throughout the pages. My only biggest problem was the fact that the two main characters hate each other 80% of the time or more. It was hard to believe that they could ever fall in love. Especially with how cruel the leading man is. It would take a lot more than just a final declaration of love to bond them. And I think Heacock realizes this by how the ending is left so open-ended. Maybe there is a second book where we see them bond some? Not sure, but all in all the actual writing was very good!

I really enjoyed this book but it was quite unexpected. It was much lighter on the actual romance but it was refreshing to see how their relationship developed. I think what I liked even more though is the other relationships in ths book-particularly between the heroine and her best friend. It was nice that was given so much attention and not used as just a plot device. Getting to know her family was nice as well. This was a great romance read.

Crashing the A-List is such a fun, quick read. I laughed out loud sometimes, once in a while wanted to tear up, and I really enjoyed it. The story line is different and inventive, which I appreciate. The characters are realistic and likeable. A good read for those looking for something a little different in a rom-com.

I laughed and even cried a little! I loved Claras never give up and push through it attitude! I really liked all the characters, even when they made me not want to ! In Crashing the A-List, Clara has just been laid off from her job in publishing and is making ends meet by living on her brother's couch and cleaning out old storage units. She finds some incriminating information on a famous British actor who ends up thinking she's blackmailing him. (As far as meet-cutes go, it's a little weird.) Anyway, Caspian, the actor, turns around and blackmails Clara into being his fake girlfriend at various events in order to get his publicity team off his back. This was a fun, quick read. I liked Clara, and particularly loved her relationship with her best friend CiCi. CiCi was the best! I will say that enemies-to-lovers and fake relationships are my favorite tropes, and so the fact that this book had both means I should have loved it more than I did. I liked it, but wasn't wowed. Caspian fell a little flat for me - I understood where he was coming from, but he he didn't feel like a real person. He's very kind to everyone (except Clara...), but I just wanted more - he and Clara don't actually have that much time to get to really know each other. Overall though, this was fun.
