The idea of little knitted animals with clothes is just adorable. This is a great collection of patterns that are well described, and are easy to follow. The photographs are also beautiful. However, this book is more for intermediate or advanced knitters.

Knitted Animal Friends is a wonderful book for knitters who are looking for more than just a cute softie (cuddly stuffed toy). You get patterns for 13 different animals (cat, dog, horse, mouse, fox, squirrel, hedgehog, pig, racoon, hare, duck, ram and owl). Cute characters indeed, but you can also knit their wardrobe!. Patterns for little shoes, sweaters, pants, scarves, bags, etc. All animals have a standard shape and size, so mixing and matching accessories as well as body parts is possible.

From a technical point of view, the book is also gorgeous : instructions are clear, perfectly organized and displayed. It is most suitable for intermediate and experienced knitters, as it contains more advanced techniques. What I loved the most about it, is how customizable these softies are. Did I mention that each animal has a name and character description?, extra cuteness. A delight to own and play with for sure (not just for kids, they look great as decoration too).

This book has darling patterns. I can't wait to knit a few charming animal friends for my three daughters.

A lovely mix of animal options, clearly written patterns with lots of clear pictures. I wouldn't say this is a beginners book as there are a few trickier techniques, and a mixture of knitting flat and in the round. As a redular toy maker I would love to make all of these.

The skilled knitter will enjoy making these projects. Most of the animals are familiar from favorite books and there are patterns for clothes and accessories for the 12 animals in the book. The body for the animals are all the same so clothes can fit all the projects. The book is well illustrated and easy to follow. Great book for advanced beginners who want to knit adorable cuddly toys. All the animals have a basic body, and the book includes cute outfits so you can mix and match to your heart's content.

The instructions of patterns are very detailed and nicely organized with pictures. It is not for the very beginner because it doesn't show you how to knit. If you already know how and can read a written instructive pattern then this is perfect for you! She encourages selecting a cotton yarn for durability, softness, being non-allergic for most people, and includes recommended washing information which is incredibly thoughtful with children in mind.

A great little book with all the animals being based on the same body, just add different clothes, hats, etc. Well explained and lots of photographs. Recommended for all the little people in your life, or for yourself, for that matter!

This is an absolutely gorgeous book, I can't wait to make most of what is in it. The animals are wonderful and the wardrobe of outfits is fabulous, I wouldn't mind some of those items myself. It reminds me of Luna Lapin but that book looks as though you need a City and Guilds in tailoring whereas this book is suitable for anyone reasonably experienced in knitting. An absolute joy.

I need to make every single one of the adorable creatures in this wonderful book. Perfect for gifting and decorating. Each one has such personality! Well written patterns make it easy to produce professional looking results. I love them!

The animals in Louise Crowther’s Knitted Animal Friends are adorable and the outfits are spectacular and skillfully patterned. This is a beautiful book. I can’t wait to begin knitting the owl for a special little girl.

If you're a knitter interested in making knitted animals, this may be the book you're looking for! The creatures are adorable, the pictures vivid and the instructions look very explicit. I am not an expert knitter, but I believe I could follow these instructions without too much trouble. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

This book has THE CUTEST patterns for knitted animals. I love that all of the animals are the same size, so the accessories are totally mix-and-match. Especially because the accessories are possibly even cuter than the animals themselves! Tiny sweaters, knickers, shoes, jackets, dresses, and more. I want to knit every last one of them! I haven't had a chance to actually knit any of the animals yet, but the instructions seem to be very clear and easy to follow. I'm just waiting for my yarn to get here so I can get started! And the book itself is lovely, with clear, crisp color photos and a useful organization. Each animal has its own chapter, but there are also parts of the book that consolidate things like the shoe patterns, which apply to all of the animals, and so on.

What a privilege to have an advance preview of this book. I will definitely be purchasing it. Adorable animals to knit for a nursery along with lots of sweet clothing that can be knit and interchanged with the different animals. Although I have not yet knit anything the instructions appear to be clear.

The patterns in this book are so cute, and children and adults alike will love to try their hands at making these adorable creatures and their clothing and accessories!

How stinking adorable is this book?! I have a couple of animal making books by various authors but they are all sewing based, so this book is EXACTLY what I was looking for!
Not only do the knitted clothes match the same size animals I make, but the knitted animals can be swapped with my handsewn wardrobes offering a whole new world of mix and match toys!
I absolutely loved it, from the cover to the layout and the instructions are super clear.

There are 13 different animals to make, all with their own outfits and accessories as well as a whole chapter on shoes to make an endless variety of heirloom toys, gifts for special occasions or just because !
I am absolutely going to make all the things in this book, currently there are a multitude of tiny balls of wool from projects lying all over the house so this is a perfect scrapbuster collection of patterns.
Excellent value for money with a high end production value, I found this entire book a delight to read and plan what I am going to make first.

I love Knitted Animal Friends by Louise Crowther. If you can knit, do a little bit of sewing, and know a child to knit a personalized stuffed animal for: This is the book! All animal designs have a modern look and are simply adorable. The bodies are all very similar and easy to knit. The heads take different shapes depending on the animal you are knitting. Archie the Squirrel, Holly the Hedgehog, and Louis the Owl are my favorites because I have an affinity to these animals. Louise Crowther has really put a lot of attention to detail into the design of her animals and especially into their clothing accessories. Each animal comes with its own clothes and because of the very similar bodies it is easy to interchange the clothing between animals if you like. This opens the opportunity to knit a very personalized animal according to the wishes of a specific child.
