This was enjoyable, if a bit slow and tame in the passion category. I thought the same thing about book 1, but it didn’t stop me from reading this one because the characters and concept are strong. It did take work to read, but I enjoyed the characters, the emotional turmoil that Hannah had to deal with, and watching Ty learn to accept his past, move past his fears, and accept Hannah and all that she brought to him. The plot was great. The characters were good. The passion was tame, but present. And the pace of the story was a bit slow. Overall, a good read and I do look forward to Brady’s story.

Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy by Caitlin Crews 3.5 stars

This is Book#2 about the Everett Brothers. The first book was A True Cowboy Christmas (older brother Gray), which I didn't read. This book is about the middle brother Ty. A bull rider competing in rodeos, Ty was a champion. Unfortunately, he had a bad bull riding accident and suffered serious injuries to his back and head. What he knows and nobody else is that he has significant memory loss. Eighteen months after the accident Hannah meets him in town and he can't remember who she is. He finds out that she is his wife; but Hannah also has a secret of her own.

I didn't start liking Ty until about 3/4 into the book, I started liking Hannah about halfway into the plot. Ty just seem to have too many daddy issues that follow him around. Hannah had some mom issues to deal with too. There was also a lot of dialogue between all three brothers about the operation of the ranch. The last quarter of the book redeemed the whole reading experience.

Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for this ARC.

I want to enjoy this book. I do love a great second chance romance. However when the plot is supported by a continued and willful lie by one of the main characters, I cannot get behind that. Given that it was well into 2/3 of the book before the “secret” comes to light, the entire scenario left me with a bad taste.

Overall I did not find issue with the authors writing or storytelling ability. This was simply not the storyline for me. I would be interested in reading other books by this author.

I love Caitlin Crews (aka Megan Crane) and her Cold River Ranch cowboys!

She writes real cowboys and not city boy posers like so many other “cowboy” romances that I see these days.. And this one… its GOOD! (I married a bull rider… so yeah… I hate stories where all I can think is how I’ve never known a cowboy like that.)

Hannah and Ty felt like real people and I was hooked by the end of the first chapter. Read all day so I could finish it before going to sleep! There was no way I could wait to see how everything played out!

Give this series and this book a try if hot, grumpy cowboys are your thing… they are mine. 😘

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

Oh boy, I love drama and secrets and second chances as much as the next person, I even love the inner monologue characters often do, but this time out, I just couldn’t connect too often with the main characters.

Hannah was completely wrapped up in her “beauty”…not the real kind, but the plastic “beauty queen” beauty and what does that say to the world? Oh, the horrors of being seen without her make-up on! And that secret she is keeping from Ty? Shame on her. Ty has truly suffered, but the worst of it he has kept from everyone, including his family. Why would anyone feel ashamed of partial amnesia?

COLD HEART, WARM COWBOY by Caitlin Crews tells of two people torn apart by thoughtless words, bruised egos and the tragedy of a loss of memory. What should have been a heartwarming second chance romance became a stressful tale of two people who once built a relationship on secrets and fear of discovery and now find themselves caught up in more secrets they fear will be discovered.

Two dysfunctional families do not help matters. Too much pain, not enough selfless love kept me from truly enjoying much of anything about this book.

Rodeo Queen Hannah Monroe has worked hard to escape from the small town that looked down on her and her mother. She gave up her crown and her innocence to Ty Everett only for him to order her away. All she wants from him now is a divorce so she can move on with her life.

Ty ran off to join the rodeo when he was eighteen and has only returned home after being severely injured by a bull. Back amongst his family, he is trying to hide his partial amnesia when a spunky woman arrives announcing she's his wife. His life just got a whole lot messier.

This was an enjoyable read with great characters, and I read it in one sitting. If you like a good cowboy romance, then this is a book for you.

Loved It.
I really felt for both these characters; Ty who has gone through a painful recovery, lost part of his past through amnesia and sees the remainder of his memories without any emotional attachment. And Hannah, verbally and emotionally abused and sent away to face her pregnancy in disgrace in her hometown. When they come together again Hannah plans to ask for a divorce, all hope that he will change his mind and come and reclaim her and their baby gone, only to find that he doesn’t remember her and didn’t the night he sent her away. What she wants most is to protect her son from an absentee disinterested father but does she have a second chance with Ty? Can he recover his memories? How much should she tell him of their shared past? Highly recommended.

This was a quick and easy read, full of hope and second chances.

Ty is a bull rider who gets stomped on by a two thousand pound bull, which leaves him with some memory loss. So when Hannah tracks him down and tells him that not only did they date in secret but they got married. For the cowboy who swore he would never get married this is a hard to believe story. However for some reason he finally FEELS something around Hannah and believes her.

He doesn't want to get divorced, for fear of feeling even more like his abusive, drunk father. Their are still secrets from each other and with his family. When secrets are reveled they will test their strength to stay together.

Ty has been through a lot over the past year or so, including being thrown off of a bull so hard that he lost the last two years of his life... including any recollection of former Rodeo Queen, Hannah. And boy, does she have a surprise for him!

I thought this was a sweet & easy to read story, with a few predicable “twists” thrown in - a good summer read! I recommend reading the first book in the series “A True Cowboy Christmas” as it provides background and leads up to this story well.

The Cold River Ranch stories revolve around three brothers, who even in their adult lives, are still suffering from the effects of their father’s cruelty and alcoholism while they were children.
This time, the story belongs to the middle brother. Ty Everett , a rodeo bull rider who was badly injured . He survived the injury but what nobody knows is that he lost 2 years of his memory.
Hannah Monroe, former rodeo queen, met and fell in love with Ty.
Their last meeting devastated her and now she’s come to the ranch to ask for a divorce, while not telling Ty he’s a father.
I have to confess that until the last 15-20% of the book, I had trouble engaging in the story. The internal conversations these two had for most of the book, was exhausting and at times the story flat-lined for me. And yes, I found myself skipping some pages.
That said, I loved the author’s comment , “Life is a risk…love is a risk. Everything that’s worth anything in this life is a risk”. So very true.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and St Martin’s. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

This is Book 2 in the series. Although Amos, the drunkard, cruel patriarch is dead and buried, he still casts a huge shadow over the family. No family member makes it through untouched.

Ty is the middle son in the Everett clan. He needs to make it as far away as possible staying clear of the father who is impossible...until he's injured and Amos dies.

This story shows the results of one brother is pitted against another. These characters are all hard and strong. The HEA is hard-earned. The story of how that's achieved is very entertaining.....make's a reader anxious for the next installment.

This book was gifted to me by the publisher in return for an honest review.

Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy is the second stand alone in the Cold River Ranch series by Cailtin Crews. I was really excited for bull rider Ty Everett's story and didn't disappoint.

A bad bull riding fall left Ty Everett missing a good two years of his life thanks to amnesia, so he is completely in the dark when Hannah Monroe shows up on his farm looking for him. He feels an instant connection with her and wants her to fill in the blanks his memory is missing. Hannah drops the bomb that she's his wife but leaves out the fact they he has a son. Now the have a second chance but when all secrets are out in the open, Ty's fear of being no good like his own father will over shadow everything.

Ty and Hannah are both great characters but I felt like she out shined him in the story. She was strong, sassy and kindhearted. She held on to hope when all hope seemed to be lost. She felt like she had given up on Ty too easily but I didn't see it that way. Ty was so darn stubborn and adamant that he was just as bad as his rotten father and no one could get it into his thick skull that we choose who we are with every decision we make. Together, their interactions were sweet, and for the most part they were honest with each other. Hannah had every right to keep their son a secret until she knew she could trust him.

Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy, Hannah and Ty's love story, left me with a big smile on my face. It was a pleasant second chance cowboy romance that left me eager for the next brother's book.

Great romance! This is the second in a series. I didn't realize that before I started but I wasn't confused reading it. I would like to read the first one though. Funny dialogue and quick read. I enjoyed it!

This book will give you all the feels. I laughed, I cried. Not your typical cowboy book. Two thumbs way up.

If you live your life in the past, you can't begin to have a future. This statement rings true for Ty Everett and Hannah Monroe. Ty Everett is a bull rider who likes to flirt and play the field. Hannah Monroe is the Rodeo Queen, who a model of good behavior and comportment. They usually have chaperones throughout their time as Rodeo Queen. There was a spark between them that just wouldn't go away. But Ty's family life from growing up put him in the camp of never getting married and never having children. Hannah's life growing up put her in the camp that she wasn't sleeping with any man till they got married and was planning to have children. Life doesn't always go as planned. Will they each have the courage to leave everything in the past and move forward together?

A second chance story with a cowboy and a rodeo queen. I found the concept interesting. Hannah married Ty and he leaves her and breaks her heart. Also leaving her pregnant. She leaves and while gone, Ty has an accident and loses his memories. So when Hannah comes back, he doesn't remember her but is intrigued by her.
This book felt like a little town much inner turmoil between the two and there were times I just wanted the characters to talk and share their secrets. Did leave me frustrated, but overall it was an okay book. I liked the concept, felt like it dragged at times.

ARC received via Netgalley for an honest review

Not going to lie - I forgot most of what happened in the first book until I started reading Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy. That's nothing to do with the book though, that's all to do with my terrible bookzheimers.

I was really looking forward to Ty and Hannah's story, I mean cowboys, amnesia, secret babies, it should have really been a hit for me.

Unfortunately it fell flat for me. And I think mostly it was because of our leading lady Hannah. OMG, the number of times I yelled at my Kindle about her as I was reading. I kept yelling "just freaking tell him" so many times. Ugh, I could kind of understand her thinking, but gees how wrong could she be at times.

Ty was an ar$e, but also completely understandable in the circumstances, so I guess he is more forgivable lol

This story also felt a bit all over the place, a bit jumpy. But this could also just be me.

I did like getting back to the ranch, getting to see where Gray and Abby were in their lives, and now I need to meet the woman (or man) who brings Brady to his knees.

Ty and Hannah were each other’s oasis in a world of chaos. Both dealing with parents with difficult expectations and emotional blackmail. Life brought them together at the rodeo but it also pushed them apart after a near fatal incident for Ty with a bull. Ty returns home to Cold River Ranch, the last place he wants to be but he has to heal and deal with his memory loss of the last 2 years. When sexy Hannah shows up at the ranch, it’s first time he has truly felt anything since the accident but he doesn’t know why this woman draws him in. Hannah knows she needs to face Ty and get a divorce but she never expects to learn that her husband doesn’t remember her. Does she put it all on the line and hope he will find those memories and their love again? Or should she cut her losses and move on? Hannah’s strength and determination give Ty something to lean on as he lives with uncertainty in his mind. The love they share is strong and experiencing the struggles for both of them as they navigate these turbulent waters was inspiring. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

I was immediately pulled in by the premise of this book. Hannah tracks down Ty. To ask for a divorce? Force him to acknowledge their child? She’s not really sure. But it becomes obvious pretty quickly that there’s a problem. He doesn’t remember her! Soon sparks are flying and neither one of them is sure what they want. But they might have some fun figuring it out.
I felt there was a little too much introspection. A lot of both Hannah and Ty in their own heads. I picture two people talking and one stares at the other dumbly while they have a conversation in their head. The story really didn’t need all that. That’s why I gave it 4 stars. It was a little drawn out but the ending was stellar.

Ty and Hannah have a story to tell, Ty loses his memory and cannot even remember his wife or their last 2 years together. An emotional story as these two find their way back to each other, having to overcome the amnesia as well as some other trials and demons from their pasts. Up for an emotional Happily Ever After? This is a great read for you.
