I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
I have read a few books and enjoyed them, so I was excited for the opportunity to read and review this one. Having said that, I had a hard time following the storyline as there appeared to be three weaving thru the principle characters and it felt disjointed.
Chase and Mary were in love when they were younger and Chase left to be with his dying mother. Their relationship ended when he left and interest to connect began years later after Chase received a letter from Mary that professed her undying love for him. He still loves her and he comes home only to have Mary tell him she needs some time and space to process his return...…..what? The storyline gets murky as Chase has an admirer who escalates to fatal attraction status, but Mary also has a sub-plot with an admirer who has his own nefarious ideas. Chase is also on a quest to find his biological father that he had hoped his mother would reveal before she died.
This book gave me whiplash and by three quarters of the way, I no longer cared about the characters. The plot(s) became predictable and unimaginative. I had hoped for better and will continue to hope for better with the next book.

The crazy people in this book are distracting. Made it harder to focus on Mary and Chase. But it did made it a page turner

3.5 Stars
This is another entry in the Cardwell Ranch series. This story involves Mary Cardwell Savage, daughter of Marshall Hud Savage and Dana Cardwell Savage, and Chase Steele. Chase and Mary were best friends and then later lovers when they were younger. Chase never knew who his dad was, and in this story, he learns that he was conceived in Montana, which means that his father may be nearby and may have an explanation for why he abandoned his ‘family.’ Chase left Mary four years earlier because he wasn’t ready to settle down, and he was trying to find answers to the missing part of his life with regards to his paternity. Mary never stops loving him, but she really wanted him to stay and fight for her; instead, he left and broke her heart. In a moment of weakness, she writes him a letter, telling him that she has a package for him, and also that she still loves him. Unfortunately, the letter gets seen by a woman named Fiona, who believes that she has a claim on Chase, and that he belongs with her. This makes Mary an ‘enemy’ of sorts, and she becomes a threat to Fiona. Fiona decides to take action…
The overall premise of the story is interesting and the story is well-paced. Unfortunately, there were multiple misspellings and strange happenings with capitalization in places; for example, “hud leaned BaCk…” and “aS ChaSe…” and the word “breathe” for “He tried to take a breath.” These obvious mistakes distracted from the flow of the overall story, and should have been fixed with decent editing and/or proofreading.
The characters are fleshed-out fully, and it is easy to tell who is good in the story versus who is bad. There are some emotional issues regarding Chase’s father and some abusive behavior that Fiona experienced that are treated respectfully, and there is some obvious mental illness in a character. There are a few tense scenes, and there is a low-level tension present throughout much of the story. If the reader can look past the spelling and capitalization oddities, the story is actually quite enjoyable.
I was given a copy of this book from NetGalley and am giving an honest review of this book.

STEEL RESOLVE by B. J. Daniels is a second chance romance. So much is happening in this story, a psycho girl, a mystery father, tense life or death situations and cow rustling! This is a book you won't want to put down!

This book had potential, which is why I gave it three stars. Too much, self blame and silly angst. I would find places that moved into a good storyline, then zingo, back to the self blame and silliness. Not a bad read, just mediocre.

Steel Resolve is an outstanding romantic suspense by B.J. Daniels. Ms. Daniels has provided readers with a book that is well-written and packed with phenomenal characters. Chase is living in Arizona when his mother dies. After he collects her ashes, nothing is keeping him there. When he gets a letter from Mary saying she has a box from a friend of his mother's and that she still loved him, he's ready to go back to Montana. Chase and Mary's story is packed with drama, humor, action, spice and suspense. Ms. Daniels always writes books I can't put down once I start them and this was no exception. I loved every page and look forward to my next book by B.J. Daniels.
Steele Resolve is part of the Carwell Ranch: Montana Legacy Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is part of the Cardwell Ranch series. I really enjoy books written by B J Daniels, She does a beautiful job of describing the ranch and mountains of Montana. These always have mystery mixed in with the romance and hold your attention through the whole book as you want to know the deep dark family secrets

The title of the book and the description had me excited about reading this book. Chase seemed like such a strong character, at first. He was a man who realized past mistakes and was ready to do what he had to do to regain the trust and love of the woman he walked away from earlier. But with each chapter, he seemed to become a weaker character. The other main character, Mary, had no depth. She was totally naive believing everyone was her friend. She was simply blah! The dialogue came across like it was written by a very young teen. There were far too many plots going on at one time and most were not plausible. It was like the author lost her direction halfway through the book and just started going in all directions,

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
I just LOVE Ms. Daniels books. She has a way of drawing me into her stories. I feel that I am a part of the story. I just get lost in the action and I can't read fast enough. Her characters are just so vivid and vibrant. They just come to life.
Oh how I adored seeing Dana and Hud again. It was like being in the company of old friends. (I have to go back and re-read their story all over again!)
This story is written in a multiple POV format. It is nice to get a different perspective from several characters.
This story had several different villains. Who would be the ultimate evil one. Fiona the woman who is convinced that Chase is her soul-mate? Or is it Dillon the deputy sheriff who is trying to date the sheriff's daughter? Does he have an alternative motive? Also when Chase shows back up in Big Sky, MT, will Mary forgive him for leaving her?
You will just have to read for yourself. This is a wonderful book and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Chase has been gone for several years but after receiving a letter from his ex, he decides its time to go home. Mary is a cowgirl down to her boots. She was devastated when Chase left her. When she was feeling low she sent him a letter but now that he’s back, she’s not sure if she can trust him with her heart. But Chase isn’t the only one coming back to town, he has a stalker that has set their sights on Mary. Can he when her heart back and save the woman he loves?
A little too fast paced, the story felt a little rushed. Pretty good though with romance and a crazy stalker.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for NetGalley *

Mary and Chase were high school and college sweethearts that separated for time to grow. Now, Chase wants back in Mary's life to stay, but a mistake in Arizona is trying to make sure they don't get their happily ever after.
It was a cute, quickread. There was a lot of suspense and the plot was well developed. Truly an enjoyable book, but nothing special or that makes you want to reread it over and over.

An enjoyable story! There is a lot going on in this story, but I liked going along for the ride. I liked the second chance element of Mary and Chase's relationship, and they were a good match. The suspense part is what really interested me, and I liked how things played out. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

This story centers around Mary Cardwell Savage and Chase Steele. They were HS and college sweethearts, but instead of ending together after college, Chase left her and Big Sky, MT.
Years later, a letter that Mary wrote to Chase declaring that she still loved him, and one she never meant to send Chase, changes their future.
When Chase receives the letter he decides to return and declare his love. But things are not that simple. For one , she is dating someone, and also , a woman he slept one night, has become a dangerous stalker.
Will Chase and Mary have a second chance at love? Will the dangerous woman destroy any chance of them having their HEA?
it’s a story with an engaging plot filled with bad guys, a deranged woman and of course, romance.
A well written story that will keep you on your toes from the first page to the last.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

This review is not going to be long. I am not a huge fan of a review rehashing the entire plot and spoiling it for everyone.
This is the first book by B.J. Daniels that I have read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the suspense and the second chace at love. I enjoyed this book so much that I have purchased a couple previous books in this series.
I received a free copy of this book via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Suspenseful, quick read. You can't go wrong with a book by BJ Daniels. Love Harlequin intrigues. Great chemistry between characters.

Lovers who began as best friends as teens reunite after a separation that only makes their relationship stronger and deeper in “Steel Resolve”, by BJ Daniels, confronting a villain with a deceitful friendly personality.
Mary and Chase are strong, honorable characters and I loved to watch them working through their problems and hurt and coming out more mature and with a steadier connection. Their reconciliation is a lovely process, very well written.
The fact the unbalanced villain has point of view privilege makes the story believable and a bit disturbing, too, intensifying the suspense.
