I received this arc from NetGalley for an honest review. Great alphabet book that kids will get a kick out of like a jaguar with a jump rope and a koala with a kite.

A delightful ABC read that takes you on a humorous ramble through the animal kingdom -- beyond the lemonade drinking llama you'll meet a newt reading a newspaper, a whale eating waffles, and so many more fun sights. The illustrations are cute and colorful, and kids will be sure to giggle over the comical pairings. Also includes a final display of the letters above each animal that you can use to test your kid's knowledge. Definitely not your average ABCs.

Llamas with Lemonade is a sweetly alliterative animal alphabet book written and illustrated by Ariana Koultourides. Due out 10th Sept 2019 from Annick Press, it's 32 pages and will be available in boardbook format.

This is a simple and beloved format. Each of the 26 animals is drawn clearly and simply along with a prop using the same letter of the alphabet. They're all really whimsical and cute and this will absolutely become a favorite read-to-me or bedtime book for the youngest children. There is a llama with lemonade (see cover), a mouse with a muffin, an urchin with an umbrella and 23 others. There's also a pictorial gallery double page at the back of the book with all of the letters together for memory and quiz fun. X is completely adorable (and yes, he has a xylophone, because X is always a xylophone).

This would also make a superlative classtime or library read.

Five stars. Such adorable and appealing art.

Not a huge fan of alphabet books. Typically they're boooring. But I really liked this one. The layout is pretty minimalist so you can really focus on the letters of the alphabet and the illustrations that go along with them are different than the norm. I also like the way the letters and illustrations are lined up on the last page. I sang the alphabet with my daughter and pointed at the letters on the page. She also really enjoyed this one. I;m going to recommend it to be purchased for the library where I work, but there's also a good chance I'll purchase it for my own collection.

Better than just another alphabet book! This beautiful illustrated children's book stands out for it's silliness (A squirrel with socks? A whale with waffles?). Bound to bring giggles to story time for toddlers and preschoolers - all while secretly helping them become more familiar with the alphabet and letter sounds. That's what I call a win-win!

I was expecting this to be more cohesive, like A to Z by Sandra Boynton. Instead, each page is a letter with an animal and item that start with that letter. I did love the illustrations, and as a book to look at rather than to be read at a story time, it's very cute. I'd love to have a poster with all of the illustrations for my classroom wall!

Oh my goodness, just really adorable. This was the last book I read to my kid tonight and it kind of piggybacked off of the alphabet game we have been playing.

This adorable clever board book is one of the most delightful ABC books that I have ever read. The animal characters are very sweet and do a magnificent job of introducing toddlers to letter recognition, upper and lower case letters and alliteration.

The animals representing their alphabet letter often showcase unfamiliar objects which translates into vocabulary building for little ones. The author parades alligators, jaguars, koalas, newts, urchins, x-ray fish and yaks ( just to cite a few) across the pages for young children to enjoy.

The illustrations are clear and uncluttered with vibrant coloured backgrounds that are very kid-friendly. Every parent and caregiver strives to include an alphabet book into their preschooler's early childhood learning experience. Teachers also search for quality ABC books to have available in their classrooms or elementary school libraries. "Llamas with Lemonade: An Unusual Animal ABC" is a perfect addition to include into your toddler's collection. I highly recommend this book.

This was so super cute!!!
The illustrations were adorable and the text was simple enough that even your busiest of tiny humans will be able to make it through the book.
The only thing I would have changed...
I would have used the animal names as proper nouns instead.
"Llama loves to drink lemonade."
This way the upper and lower case letters would have been used in the sentences.
Thank you NetGalley and Annick Press Ltd. for my DRC.

Very cute alphabet book! The illustrations make it, as the words themselves aren't that unique. They're good, don't get me wrong, but in a world with hundreds of alphabet books, I don't feel that the examples given stood out all that much.

This book is so adorable and great simple pages to help your kid learn the alphabet. At the end there is the entire alphabet with the animal. Simple, quick phrase for the letter.

Thank you NetGalley, Annick Press Ltd., and Ariana Koultourides for a digital copy for me to review and rate this book.

What an absolutely adorable book! The illustrations are gorgeous, the pages simple, the item with each animal cute. I really like this book.

I liked this book it was cute. The illustrations were wonderful to look at and it was nice that the animals were easily identified. I thought the A to Z items were great they were different but not too obscure that a child won’t know what they are.
I would definitely buy this book for my young children.

ARC Copy...it was an unusual alphabet but more of the cute kind! Simple for little kiddies to follow...animals on a simple background but a good non verbal lesson in alliteration and in exotic animals (ex. X-Ray fish).

This was such a cute and fun way to introduce any child to the alphabet! The abc's are shared in both upper and lower case letters, with the most adorable drawings of different types of animals. Not only that, but they also have the cutest accessories to go with it. And, the colors, so vivid and welcoming. A really great addition to any home.

One thing that always draws me to picture books are the illustrations! I’m a sucker for cute and adorable illustrations and this book does not disappoint! The little animals are all so cute I couldn’t get enough! The book is a very basic ABC book great for toddlers and young children learning their alphabet. But the illustrations are what make this book great!

A big thank you to NetGalley and Annick Press Ltd for the ARC. This is a children's book. It utilizes unique animals and has fun word pairings. Cute graphics and was a joy to read. I rate it 4 stars. I imagine young children will be delighted.

This is a cute first alphabet book for toddlers. It has really cute pictures, and will entertain while teaching. I imagine that parents will enjoy sitting with their toddlers in their laps while exploring this book. Really cute.

I think this is one of the best alphabet books I've ever read! The illustrations are absolutely adorable, the selection of animals is creative, and Q and X are surprisingly well done (they're always iffy letters in alphabet books).

I don't even think I could pick just a few favourites out of the twenty-six animals presented here. They're all so cute.

This is definitely a book to check out if you're looking for alphabet books for toddlers. And I want to see what else this illustrator has done!
