A fire quickly spreads through Twin Springs Hotel in 1928, General Rockwell’s three daughters are killed, Emerald, Ruby and Amethyst and years later the mystery surrounding their deaths remains.

Diamond was orphaned at eight when her mother Opal passed away in a fire, after staying at a series of foster homes and in a psychiatric facility, she's adopted by the Wolfe family. Diamond changes her first name to Justyne, stops talking about the shadowy woman who haunts her dreams and follows her everywhere. She's raised by a military family, her brother Jaxon served in the Special Forces, he returns to the US and has met the woman he wants to marry.

JD runs a detective agency, called White Wolfe Investigations, she uses her unique gift to find missing and abducted children. Once found, she contacts the police and the social worker that helped her all those years ago. The Wolfe’s travel to Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, to visit Jaxon and his finance Ava Fairbanks. The Fairbank family own an old rundown hotel and spa called Twin Springs.

Logan Oakes was badly burnt in his last tour of duty, he thinks he looks like a monster, he’s hiding in the woods until Jaxon his old army buddy and his brother Sam drag him back to Twin Springs. He promised to rebuild the tower for Isabella and Theo's wedding, he gets back to work, and he feels uncomfortable around the Wolfe clan.

JD swears, she dresses in all black, wears boots and keeps a knife hidden in one of them. JD notices something is odd about the young front desk clerk at Twin Springs, she's taking care of her little brother and he’s obsessed with superheroes. He thinks Logan is one, he and JD are determined to discover what the siblings are hiding and in doing so, it leads to them uncovering the long buried secrets that have been hidden at Twin Springs for a century.

I received a copy of Haunted by Amethyst by Dee Armstrong from NetGalley and Big Dipper Publishing in exchange for an honest review. It’s a spooky story about an old hotel, JD's unique gift and link to her shadow, a wounded warrior, two extremely cynical people falling in love, a quick read and three stars from me.

actually enjoyed this book more than I thought I would.
Yes, it was predictable but in the very best way. The villain was clear from the outset and, although there was mention of previous heroines, it didn't matter that I hadn't read the previous books in the series.
I did call the majority of the "big reveals" before they happened but it didn't take away my enjoyment and I still couldn't put it down.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Orphaned at eight by an accidental fire she started that took the life of her addiction filled mother, JD learned to live with the Woman that not only haunted her mother but the red-haired girl from adolescence all the way up to adulthood. Thinking she’ll end up growing up familyless, she is adopted by a military family dominated by males and was taught honor, loyalty and every four-letter word in the book. One day, after she finished a case as a Private Investigator specializing is finding lost children with the unwanted help of the Woman, her brother Jaxon calls in a favor and she finds herself heading to Twin Springs along with the Woman who is adamant about finding the Springs, Springs, Springs. Once she makes her arrival, the Woman that was once black and white comes to life in color, and JD finds her first clue to her past and perhaps a way to be rid of the Woman but she must partner with a rude, obnoxious, burned man with half a face. Disfigured from his last mission, Logan Oakes returns home a monster and just wants to hide in his woods but first he must fulfill a promise to finish Twin Springs' new tower and must accept help from his Army buddy's foul-mouth sister, JD. By the first touch, a instant fire ignites within them but would they be able to put asides their differences and stop ignoring the connection between them before it too late?

For Dee Armstrong "Haunted By Amethyst", the author was able to create an incredible conclusion to the "Twin Springs Trilogy". From beginning to end, it was a phenomenal read and it felt like I wasn't turning the pages fast enough and dreaded getting to the end because that meant I couldn't get more of my fill of the three gems. The author did a great job of creating the characters journey from beginning to end which includes their past lives and showcasing how connected everyone and everything in the story was. That to me, definitely set this apart.

In regards to the lead characters, from the beginning I have assumed that once Justyne and Logan were first introduced to one another, there was going to be this immediate spark and I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't start off on a good note. Logan, who was immerse with the Amethyst he saw in the portrait, felt the complete opposite when he met JD in spite of the similar looks, he vowed to remain scarce in her presence while attempting to ignore that immediate attraction. Over time, the bickering turn into heart-warming moments and you'll notice how well they mesh together. I will mention (but won't spoil), like I have said in the previous installments, the characters romance quickly developed more than my liking but overall it didn't derailed the story. Unlike the previous characters in the past installments, it didn't seem as though Logan had a counterpart in the past life that had a connection with Amethyst in a romantic sense. Obviously it was mentioned that Amethyst was married but nothing is revealed about her husband Everett connection to Logan nor was it stated if he was the reincarnation of him which was a minor disappointment. Moreso, we are able to learn more about Niles, his whereabouts (which was unexpected) and the reasons for his actions. I'am not going to lie but I did sympathize with him, felt the pain of betrayal between the childhood friends and wished a better ending for them.

In conclusion, Dee Armstrong was able to write a trilogy that is able to enthralled anyone into reading the series and I would highly recommend anyone interested in venturing off to read pieces of work that have supernatural and historic romance element to definitely pick this up.

And lastly, once again I want to give a big thank you to Dee Armstrong and her publisher for the ARC. It was a pleasure to read the three installments of the "Twin Spring Trilogy" and I look forward to reading the author future works that will surely be a hit.

An intriguing story where reality and supernatural and past and present are linked seamlessly, featuring an alluring wounded hero and a strong, original heroine.
“Half man, half beast”, Logan is the ultimate recluse, a grouchy wounded bear withdrawn from the world, who spends his days feeling undesirable as a man. The author, Dee Armstrong, doesn’t pull any punches when describing the real dimension of the wounded warrior’s internal and external scars and the hell he’s been through.
Set against the gorgeous landscape of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains and with a set of strong, engaging secondary characters (I loved JD’s crazy family, especially the two Geezers), “Haunted by Amethyst: The Mystery of the Three Gems, Book Three” is a great story in The Twin Springs trilogy.
