I have read a few books from this author and this story was not good. It was bad and boring.
I went in after reading the blurb and thought it was going to be cute and funny, it was just boring.

I normally love Jill Mansell’s books but this one didn’t hit the mark for me.
I did finish reading the complete book though it was a struggle. Some parts of the story were enjoyable.

A great chick lit book
It has plenty of twists and turns
Easy to read
As with all her books.
Thanks NetGalley

A fun, frothy beach read that doesn’t disappoint! Jill Mansell’s books are cathartic in allowing you to escape to a different time, place and setting while being transformed in the novel’s predicaments.

Jill Mansell's books are always a cute read, but definitely one you can put down and forget about for a week before coming back to it. This one dragged on quite a lot- there was so much back and forth between characters and potential love interests that I wanted to shake a couple of them. Like I said, cute but not memorable.

This felt like a very long book! I did quite like the story but it did seem to go on for far longer than necessary and the closer I got to the end the more I just wanted to get it finished. I struggle with Jill’s book in that I just can’t decide whether or not I like them; I keep reading them though, so there must be something that brings me back to them. Lots of characters in this book and I wasn’t a huge fan of most of them!

I am a big Jill Mansell fan; always have been. This book whilst it was good was definitely not her best work probably as its one of her first novels. However it is good, and i loved the characters i just found that some of the plot was quite exasperating and drawn out in places.

I am a massive fan of Jill Mansell but there were times in this book that I felt pure exasperation. Originally published in the 90's, it would probably have been sexy at the time but in 2020, it felt sexist, outdated and frustrating.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this title.

This was my first title by Jill Mansell. The plot and characters were simple, yet I was engaged enough to keep turning the pages. An nice read to go between some of my longer, deeper reads.

I'm a very character driven reader and I just couldn't fall in love with these ones. I couldn't finish this book.

This book, although an easy read, felt a little predictable. A good beach read, it was a nice entertaining book, but nothing to really sink your teeth into.

This is a re-release of an older Jill Mansell book. It was fun and cute with vividly drawn characters. The plot was a little thin in this one, however, but I still enjoyed it.

Thanks to SOURCEBOOKS Landmark for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the review for this book as posted on my Goodreads account:
I received a digital copy of this book through NetGalley. Unfortunately it literally took me MONTHS to finish this book, which is very rare. There was just too much happening. I feel that the ideas could’ve been fleshed out better and turned into a small series of books following these characters. Entire relationships began and ended in the span of one short chapter. Months at a time passed with just the turn of a page. And a lot of it was just sooo far fetched. I understand that a lot of unbelievable things happen in works of fiction, but this just seemed like way too many happening in one book. I ended up giving it 3 stars instead of 2 because it did make me laugh and I was appreciative of the ending which wrapped everything up in a nice neat bow, albeit waaayyy too fast.

I really enjoyed this book, although I got frustrated with the women and their trickery. Izzy was such a fun character, so lovable. I’ve always enjoyed Mansell’s books and this one did not disappoint.

Quirky characters, some of them are quite unlikable. The plot was fun but more like a soap opera than I would usually expect from Jill Mansell. This was a re-release of an earlier published book. Entertaining for sure but not one of her best.

A few years back, I used to read every single new release from Jill Mansell and I absolutely adored her writing style. She was among my top favorite author, so needless to say that I was really happy and excited to read "Kiss". Unfortunately I have mixed feeling about this book. I didn't recognized the writing style from Jill that I used to love so much. That was a bit disappointing. It was like reading a book from another author. Also I found this book way to long, it could have been a lot shorter. Also I found myself bored many times during my read. But fortunately I found the storyline pretty good and the characters pretty interesting. But again the story was way too long for what it has to tell. So I am giving a 3 stars out of 5.

I loved this book, I used to read every Jill Mansell book that came out years ago. Then I had a break as I thought I’d had enough of reading chick lit books. I then discovered them again and this is the first one I have read in awhile.
It didn’t disappoint and I loved it from begin to end. I am now going to find all the books I haven’t read or even re-read ones I have as I have missed out so many.
My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

Narrative and Plot

Jill Mansel is one of my go to author when it comes to chic-lit romance books. Some I have enjoyed a lot. Which is why I was really thrilled to read Kiss. It didn't disappoint me. The narrative was entertaining enough. There were some fun moments here and there.

However, the plot was questionable. Even though it had the usual Jill Mansel tropes, none of them offered enough scope of depth. After a point, the story felt as if it was being dragged on unnecessarily. And the latter half of the book was a bit unrealistic.
Characters and Conflicts

While the book had some interesting characters, the way they were developed made them hardly relatable. Most of the characters were uncharacteristically selfish and had their own interests in mind. And by the time they showed some consideration to other people, it was too little too little. Also, some of the choices the characters made and even justified was incomprehensible for me.

Maybe it is just me. I am not the target audience for this particular book. And none of the characters were relatable to me in any way. The writing was engaging and that is what kept me going. Apart from that, it lacked heart and depth. Which is what I felt.

Even if you ignore the questionable morals of certain characters, there was one conflict in particular which made me cringe while reading. Underage romance no matter how you present it, cannot be shipped in anyway. And the way it was brought to culmination was not satisfactory as well.

Conclusion

This wasn't exactly a bad book. I finished it. It had its good moments. But you can't love them all. Unfortunately, this is not the Kiss, I am yearning for.
