Everything You Are is a perfect blend of family relationships, addiction, tragedy and a touch of magic. I was pulled into the story from the first page and had a hard time putting it down. I can't wait to read Kerry Anne King's next one!

A very haunting and inspirational book with a touch of magic thrown in. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end and kept turning the pages to see what would happen next. I strongly recommend this 5 star book by a wonderful author.

In my opinion, Kerry Anne King did a great job with this book! I thought it was a very unique plot (possibly cursed musical instruments?!) and I really enjoyed the characters. The author did a great job painting a picture of the anguished former cellist, Braden, and the mysterious luthier, Phee. The story kept my attention throughout and completely surprised me toward the end.

Thank you to Lake Union Publishing and NetGalley for providing a copy for review.

This beautifully written, lyrical novel is about music and family and forgiveness with a touch of magical realism. It's one of those books that you want to get to the end to see how it ends but you find yourself reading slower because you don't want it to end and you don't want to say goodbye to the characters.

This book covers a range of topics along with the curse - it talks with compassion about alcoholism, infidelity, suicide and pain and most importantly forgiveness. The author shows the importance of love and forgiveness no matter what happens in life. Plus the entire novel is all wrapped up in beautiful music. This is an incredibly beautiful novel and I highly recommend it

Thanks to the publisher for a copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own.

I loved this book. It's nice for a while to believe in magic!
This is about a magic Cello and the relationship with its owner, Braden, who has played it since he was 12.. He has a signed agreement he will take care of it and play it until his death. There is a curse for not holding up this contract. Now, Braden, after a fulfilling family life and career, has injured his hands and can no longer play his beautiful cello. His world implodes. Can it truly be from the curse? Ophelia McPhees believes in the curse. She inherited the business from her grandfather that was in charge of keeping track of these very special instruments. Now her job will be to convince Braden into picking up the instrument and playing again so he can lift the curse. Little did she know she would fall for him in the process!
What a beautifully written book. I love when a book draws me in and envelops me. The characters were charming and flawed and heart breaking....right down to the cello who seemed to be its own character!if you like books about magic and music and faith and love, this is a must read! 5 stars!

Ophelia McPhee inherited her grandfather’s luthier business at the age of 18, handed down through several generations. With it, came a unique task of keeping track of some very special instruments that musicians signed an oath to always play.

After a tragic accident leaves famous cellist Bradley Healey unable to play his cello, purchased from Ophelia’s grandfather when he was 10 years old, his life falls apart. Estranged from his wife and two children, he finds solace in alcohol, basically living in a stupor, in a life without music. Eleven years later, tragedy strikes again; a car accident kills his estranged wife and their son, and now his 17 year old daughter, Allie, needs him. Feeling inadequate, he moves back to the family home, attempting to re-build his relationship with his hostile daughter. Ophelia believes if Bradley can play again, a curse will be lifted ... and she attempts to convince Bradley that he must try to play.

This story delves into the wonderful magic of music, the special relationship between a musician and their instrument, something non-musicians (like Bradley’s ex-wife) may not comprehend, and the complex psychology behind PTSD. A very interesting and original storyline, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I highly recommend it.

Will Phee be able to fix this "curse" and help Braden heal.

Everything You Are by Kerry Anne King is beautifully told tale on the power of music and the relationship with an instrument. The magic of music is lifting the veil on PTSD to see just how it controls and damages. A well-told story that draws you in. Read it.

“ I hereby commit to falling in love with life in all of its manifestations of trouble and triumph, joy and grief, boredom and excitement “this is part of the creed of the adventure angels and such
words to life by !
I have never read a book where the cello is the soul of the book . The cello picks the person to play it and if you don’t, there may be a curse.
Ophelia promises her grandfather that she will carry on his work as a luthier ( one who works with string instruments) without fully knowing the terms of that commitment, yet years later she is still fulfilling her promise
Braden has played this cello until an accident resulted in damage to his hands !
This is the story of second chances, making amends, fulfilling promises and so much more .
This is a beautifully written story with so much depth, emotion and characters you will cheer and cry for .
This is my first book by this author and it will not be my last .
Thank you to Lakeunion press and the author for this Arc in exchange for my honest review !

“We are not living in the Middle Ages. Curses don’t exist, not real curses.”
A beautiful, poignant novel! One of the main characters and a center in the plot is a “cello”. A cello that chooses her “person”.
Yes, you read that right. But it is so much more!
Braden has played this cello from the age of twelve and signed an agreement with the luthier to always play and care for her until his death. There is a curse for not following this contract.
He marries, has a family, and later in his life; a serious injury of his hands.
His world implodes.
Can it truly be a curse that is torturing him and his family when Braden is no longer able to play the instrument? How will he “right” his own life to save his daughter and himself?
This story has love, guilt, pain, and forgiveness.
It is truly written with so much depth that I could feel the emotion of the cello when she was at one point in the story, abandoned.
I loved this book and would give it 10 stars!
