I remember discovering this author and really enjoyed her Legacy Collection. Lately I am finding that her work is lacking depth and a developed plot.

Neither the story nor the characters were credible to me. The story was outright sappy and I could not relate to the characters. This one was a miss for me.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this series! Nicolette and Bryant have off the chart chemistry , he sees her for who she is and wants to help her no matter what even if their families are "enemies" Come along for the ride as they meet at Eric & Sage's wedding , and end up in Iowa trying to save a town they don't even know , but soon come to realize it feels like home . This is a great addition to the series .!

Fun and delightfully entertaining!

Feeling like she didn’t fit in with her family and wasn’t welcome, Nicolette accepts a job in a small town in Iowa, essentially running away for some time to think.

She never dreamed what would happen and how her life would change.

This is the first book I’ve read from this author and can’t wait to get my hands on more!

Nicolette turned out to be the spitfire I thought she would be. I liked her free spirit and how that lead her to Iowa. Her journey to find herself was really fun to read. I loved the small town and the wonderful people living there. Bryant was a man on a mission after meeting Nicolette. I enjoyed his determination to help Nicolette reconnect with her family and help save the town. He didn't quite know what to do with all his new feelings, and it was entertaining to read him navigate it all. Delinda continues to be a force in this book, but she goes through a lot of growth in this one. I really loved how it all worked out.

💋💋
Another great book , riveting and romantic all in one .
Delinda strikes again , or puts her foot in it , could be other titles for the book, but it’s so good to have more from the Westerly‘s.
This time it’s Nicolette who’s the one in need of a helping hand or two, but that would depend on how many Bryant would be willing to lend her , and I’ve a feeling he’s not going to stop at hands ;)
The two meet when Nicolette is drunk at Eric and Sage’s wedding and sparks fly , the man has a sense of humour to Match her lack of it .
But can he worm his way into her life and heart .
Not if Delinda has a say , Bryant’s family and hers have never been close to say the least and animosities run high .
But the two young lovers are perfect together and where there’s a will there’s a way , and Bryant is nothing if not determined .
Thoroughly enjoyed the book as I have the series , and recommended it .
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Ruth rocked it this time. Bryant and Nicolette were stunning. Their story caught you and held you until the end. Funny, hot, sexy and sweet a must read. Wish there were more Westerly's to come.

Maybe I needed to have read the other books in this series to have appreciated this more. It is a simple easy read that did not have sufficient structure to keep me interested

Ruth Cardello saved the best for last, in this series. Nicolette and Bryant's story will make you cry and laugh. I can not tell you number of times I just burst out laughing while reading this story!

In spite of family history on both sides, they found a love like no other and healed each other in the process.

Like all great stories you do not want it to end but I have a feeling we will see the Westerly family again...somewhere! :-)

An enjoyable read that is the 5th in a series- and while you can technically read this as a stand alone, I personally recommend that you read the others in the series so that you have a better background on the characters. It just adds more depth to the book and storyline knowing the history of other characters. Good storyline, character development, and dynamics!

The Westerlys have come together for the wedding of Eric and while at the wedding Nicolette Westerly feels less like a member of the family than she ever has before. She is longing to belong and doesn’t know if she wants answers to the secrets that are starting to come out surrounding her family. She escapes to a small town in Iowa in hopes of finding out who she really is.

When Bryant Taunton first laid eyes on Nicolette at the wedding he is drawn to her like no other. However, his family isn’t on the best of terms with the Westerlys. He doesn’t let that stop him in his quest to get to know Nicolette. There are a lot of issues with Nicolette and Bryant’s past to resolve before they can find their happy ever after.

I love getting to revisit this crazy, mixed up, dysfunctional family. Once again this author has come up with a fresh and new plot to tell Nicolette’s story. It is always fun to get a peek into what all the family members are up to who have already had their happy ever after. This story has so much heart, love and much laughter that this author is so famous for. I had many laugh out loud moments. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to the next one.

I received an ARC from Netgalley for an honest review.

Uplifting!! I have loved every story in this series but I think this is my favorite. This story was sweet and sexy, fun and heartwarming. I fell in love with the small town and how the towns people opened their hearts to Nicolette. Also, I loved Bryant’s outlook on life and always looking for the positive. Bryant and Nicolette are perfect for each other and I will be rereading this story again and again.

After so many installments in this series Cardello still manages to keep things fresh. Nicolette and Bryant's story is heartfelt and a great read. I highly recommend Runaway Heir to fans of the series and to any new readers looking for a great way to spend some time with a solid series.

This is the last of the Westerly's, Nicoles book, and you really need to start at the beginning of the series to not only know who is who but what causes them to tick and what went down and why the are so dysfunctional. I liked Bryant but I wasn't crazy about Nicole, to be completely honest I was never a fan of her since the very beginning. So Nicole is not sure who her real father is and is having a life crisis, now she doesn't really know anything of her life, what she wants to do, is not connecting with her family is at a total loss. Maybe I am just not sympathetic enough but she bugged me and I just found her to be immature and irrational and couldn't see why Bryant would be attracted to her besides her physical attributes, I know it seems that I am just bashing her. Regardless I still enjoyed because I needed to know where and how this series would end and I have to say I am sad to see it go and honestly wished we had more interactions with her family especially my favorite couple Brent and Alicia still love them..See ya Westerly's, wouldn't mind reading about the matriarch's wedding to King Tadeous or even Derrick and Stephanie..

Ruth Cardello is one of my favorite writers and I have come to feel a part of the families she has written about. Especially the Westerly family is not exception. Ruth manages to bring her characters to life, flaws and all. I could relate to Nicolette, wanting to make it on her own, without help from her family, proving to not only her family, but to herself she can do it. I have to say the Nicolette we knew at the beginning was a more mature person at the end. And Bryant and Nicolette's love story? Well the best!

This book was a delightful read. The author has done a wonderful job for this book by seamlessly integrating new characters with the old. Delinda Westerly is my favourite character, proving that old dogs can learn new tricks. This book was beautifully written, highlighting the challenges that people face when change occurs and the difficulty involved in the process of adapting to change, This book was a fun and yet deeply emotional read, with some funny scenes involving the unflappable matriarch, Delinda Westerly. It is also a book about rediscovering faith and hope in people as well as letting go of the past. All in all, I felt that the pacing of the book was good, with a smooth continuation from the previous book in the series. I highly recommend this book to readers who are interested in modern romance, this book will take you on a whirlwind emotional journey to rediscover the meaning of family and the blossoming romance between the 2 main characters. I would like to thank Ruth Cardello for once again writing such a wonderful book befitting of this marvellous series for us readers to enjoy and savour.

Nicolette and Bryant💚💙
The matchmaking is alive and well lol, but not without some bumps, curves and bare butts. Bryant knew what he wanted and what he didn't. He wanted Nicolette and he also wanted her to be happy, so he had to deal with her family.
This was an excellent read on the journey of these two, with all the family making appearances and needed revelations.
I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. A fast read with all the feels, heat and family drama Ms. Cardello is so very good at penning.
I received an ARC thru NetGalley and am freely giving my honest thoughts.

I received an ARC from netgallery and I am voluntarily giving this review.

So this book was written for Nicolette but I must say that Delinda and Bryant stole the show. I'm hoping that we get more of Delinda in the future she is my hero and the way she handled Bryant's father in the end definitely got me excited for Bryant. It is now official as to why Delinda has been the family matriarch.

For some unknown reason Ruth books seems to speak to me on a personal level like no other. The story of Nicolette not only hit home for me personally but my kids as well. This is a story I shared with my oldest two and after they finished we talked it out. Took a note from Bryant.

Alessandro, vision was spot on and helped heal everyone. Brought light to dark places. This goes on the self as one of my favorites for 2019. Storyline, comic relief, tearful truths... perfection like no other.

The last Westerly heart bites the dust and I have yet to reclaim my own. Runaway Heir is the sweetest ending to a breathtaking series. Even larger than life people are human too. We are not the sum of our mistakes, but the lessons we learn from them. Bryant is the best example of that. He may not be a Westerly, but he has the heart of one. This may have been Nicolette's journey, but it was a non Westerly that captured my heart. The allure of Ruth Cardello is that her tales are a look into our souls. She forces us to see the beauty and the pain and teaches us something along the way. If that's not SHOWSTOPPER, I don't know what is.

Runaway Heir is the only book in the Westerly series I've read, but I didn't have trouble understanding anything. Nicollet and Bryant are adorable. She's wondering where she fits with her family and who she is. Bryant is the guy who helps her. There are many predictable elements to the story, but it's still a worthwhile read. It's entertaining, fun and easy to read. The story line moves just right. The characters are likeable, complex and charming. Overall, this story is a delightful read. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
