Competing columnists that work better together than apart. There’s definitely attraction there that fuel that inner fire to succeed. How do you think they get along so well? That chemistry burns hotter than the words on the pages their readers read. Great start to the series!

I, sadly, didn’t connect with this book. The writing was ok and I didn’t mind it, but the story really made me cringe. It seemed a little bit like a story I’ve already heard and wasn’t like a whole new take on it.
I think the author was very inventive on how she worked the story, but for me, it didn’t click. I would give it 2/5 stars.

This book was just not for me. Maybe it was the rival trope, which I found I didn't care for, but primarily I think it was a strong dislike for the heroine, Staci. I just didn't like her. Because of that, I was not invested in the relationship between Staci and Greg, and I was forcing myself to get through the book so that I could provide a review based on the whole experience. Of course, I realize that all readers connect differently with characters, so don't let my lack of connection keep you from giving this one a try.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for review.

This is the first book I have read by Maria La Serra. This book was okay to me. It was a quick read about two people who met when they were younger and they now work together and The guy doesn’t remember the girl. I really didn’t connect with Staci and Greg.

This book was wrote in dual POV. I liked that fact of the book. You at least know what Staci and Greg are thinking about one another during the book.

I received an advanced copy for an honest review.

Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet, sexy romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!

Maria La Serra has done it again. She has brought us another amazing story.

In The One and Only we meet Greg and Staci. I loved the banter between the two. It’s an enemies-to-lovers/second chance romance you won’t be able to put down. With multiple laugh-out-loud moments you’ll be rooting for these two to make it work and asking for more!

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait to dig into Book 2!

I love a good coworker romance story. Staci and Greg are being pushed to work together and Staci hates Greg over something that happened way too long ago. I really wanted her to just get over it.

Staci and Greg navigate their new working relationship with humor and fun. I appreciated that they started to form a friendship first, then a relationship. They had a lot of people on their side pushing them together. Greg was easy to like and root for, he appreciates a lot about life and doesn't look down on people. Staci was harder to like, but a lot of that was because I was annoyed that she harbored all this hate towards Greg for something that happened years ago that they could have worked out in a few minutes.

The dual person POV was very well done and I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

It was a fun book. I had a great time reading it. The total enemies to lovers troupe is my favourite and thats why I enjoyed it very much. Staci morally dislikes greg and wants nothing to do with him. Greg on the other hand likes staci very much. Due to past relationships staci likes to avoid greg who in turn is heir to the company she works. When they are assigned to run a biweekly column togather staci was forced to interact with greg and the rest is history. I liked this story very much. The storyline, the character the storytelling was awesome. Their chemistry was sizzling. I had a great time reading it and I would definately recommend it!

Well I did enjoy the book and all because of Greg. I did not like Staci and I was disappointed with her the majority of story actually to be truthful the whole story. I thought that after a while I would get to like her or that she would grab a clue but she never redeemed herself in my eyes. Now Greg totally different story he was such a sweet heart and we read how he knew that when he was younger he was a jerk and he totally had a turn around from that so why did he like Staci she was not nice to him at all and she never showed that she was different I couldn't understand why he would want a relationship with her, but it is what it is, liked her friend she was cool to and even Staci's family it was only her that I disliked..

DNF at 27%.

First, let me say that I am having a really off time with books. I have 54 books on my Kindle and I don't want to read any of them, so this may not be all the book's fault.

This is a classic tale of rivalry, Staci Cortés is a dating columnist at a popular New York magazine she wants to write more insightful pieces so when her boss makes her co-editor of a new online magazine she is over the moon, until she discovers that her co-editor is the boss' son, and her nemesis, Greg McAdams. Clearly there is a history with Greg, probably from years ago when Staci was (I'm guessing) a lot larger than she is now, a history of which he is blissfully unaware. So this had all the makings of a fun romantic comedy in the vein of How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days, unfortunately for e the reality fell far short.

From the little I read Greg came across as a sweet, thoughtful, professional guy with a soft spot for Staci. Staci on the other hand came across as an unprofessional psycho, behaving really badly and escalating matters when Greg does nothing in retaliation. When she talks about him being a gentleman and her wondering what crazy antics she can pull off (while they are on a work date) I decided life was too short to waste on unpleasant characters.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Have you seen the movie How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days?

Well, this book is very similar to that. You have the main characters being dating columnists for a NY magazine, forced to work together on a new project and their hate-to-love relationship.
Staci is the one doing the hate part and Greg is just busy falling in love with her.

Now, my 3⭐️ rating comes because of the lack of originality plot wise (see the movie reference), because the heroine’s reasons for hating the hero are childish, the drama part right before the ending is laughable and the epilogue and the marriage proposal seem to be out of the blue.

I rolled my eyes at some parts - like the one where he was in a motorcycle accident that left him in a coma and so he didn’t remember the heroine from some years back, or at Staci’s insecurities and frustrations.

All in all, it was fun and those of you who usually pick chick lits, won’t regret reading this one.

This light and amusing office romance was an enjoyable escape. Staci's initial aversion to Greg is a little over the top, but sorts well with the enemies to lovers trope. Greg is far more understanding than most men would be about Staci's outrageous behavior. Three stars.

I enjoyed this one! Staci and Greg had good chemistry and banter. It was obvious from the beginning that something had happened in the past between the two. I appreciated finding out what it was fairly early in the story. I thought that left plenty of room and time to move on and hear their true story. Good chicklit read!

Fun and Sassy!

This is the first book I’ve read by Maria La Serra and I was pleasantly surprised! I love the premise of the enemies to friends to lovers, AND fake relationship merged together. Staci is a smart mouthed relationship writer for a woman’s magazine. Greg is also a writer for the same publication’s men’s magazine. He is also the CEO’s son. But Staci “hates” Greg because of something that happened years ago. Instead of dealing with the situation, she makes assumptions about Greg, and his life. When the CEO decides to start a new online relationship magazine, he puts the two together. This is the story of how the two navigate that relationship, while building their own relationship (with Staci always reluctantly going along). Then, they get thrown together as boyfriend/girlfriend and Staci’s family is happy to see the two together. It takes Staci’s grandmother to knock some sense into Greg! And it takes Staci’s best friend to knock some sense into Staci.

This story is one of overcoming insecurities and learning to read between the snark to see the journey to love. This is a very well written, easy to read book that made me laugh, groan and eventually swoon. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review an ARC of this book and I am providing my honest review.

The story of Staci and Greg. She dislikes him but has to work with him as his Dad is the boss of the company they both work in.

Forced to work together, once they spend time getting to know each other she starts to realise he isn't all that bad, but he screwed up last time, so will he let her down again?

An entertaining read.

There was way too much drama for the supposed 'problems' that caused it in my opinion. The behaviour of Staci just didn't match up with the events; she was way too judgemental, mean and jumped to (the wrong) conclusions all the time.

However the chemistry and banter between Staci and Greg was a lot of fun to read and I loved Staci's Abuela!

I received a copy of The One & Only by Maria La Serra from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I mostly enjoyed this novel, but I think it had greater potential if the pacing was smoothed out. Also maybe if the main female character's issues, Staci, had been explained earlier to help the reader to empathize. She was kind of unlikeable at times until the author put her issues in front of the reader in broader stokes (rather than Staci just seeming like a harpy). I did like the main male character, Greg, a lot from the first introduction to him though!

This was a fun story its a 2nd chance at love story taking place at work with two writers who are working together on a column and blog site. He is also the owners son, so there is a little of he is my boss romance as well. I have never read this author before but I highly enjoyed this story.

Staci and Greg were very cute together, she is snarky and sweet all at the same time and Greg has a major thing for her. But they knew each other years before and he screwed up so he has to get her to let the past go so they can find a future together.

This was a sweet and fun read. Staci and Greg work together but dislike each other. They have to work on a story together and then the inevitable happens. There aren’t written sexy times in this book if that’s what you are looking for. But the writing is good and the story was cute. Thank you for the ARC!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this book.
I liked the plot and how the relationship between the main characters was forced through work, however it took me a long time to understand why Staci was acting the way she was. It was confusing and didn’t do the character any favours.
At times the chemistry and interactions felt a bit rushed which took away from the story as a whole.
