I wanted to enjoy this one because it’s from an Irish publisher. It I just found myself getting bored and not really caring what happened. Honest opinion.

A good beach read about four young friends who all have a baby and problems with their significant other. Jane, Lina and Gracie were already friends when Elise met them in the park. She tended to shake things up a bit.
I enjoyed the story but I wish the author had went a little deeper into what happened with their lives after Gracie's
accident.

A quick read about three women who find themselves a bit at sea when a fourth joins the group. Gracie, Lina, and Jane all have problems in their marriages and within themselves. Self doubt figures large here. Elise, who joins the group, shakes things up. There are no real surprises here but the women are sympathetic and it's a good read. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

The Start of Summer by Alison Walsh
Starts with the women sitting in the shade during the summer discussing how they love their young children...
They get along well talking about their weddings, births, etc.
Each of the women get their own chapters and we learn all their secrets about the spouses/boyfriends and the children...
Love how they are there for one another, in small groups to help them overcome not only their fears but get on with their dreams.
So many have been abused and mistreated and some are on their own, others have fathers for their babies that help out and some that don't.
Like getaways the women take with the children. Such real life situations that are dealt with.
Ends with acknowledgements.
Received this review copy from Hachette Books Ireland via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

This is my first book by the author.
The story starts of with Elise hoping for an invite to join the mommies under the tree.

Throughout the book the author meticulously develops the characters.

One may seem like they have the perfect life, but do they?

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I had high hopes and expectations for this book after reading the description. But sadly right from the off I just New it wasn’t for me. It was mundane and dragged in which isn’t a god start
