This was such a sweet and charming read! Although this is not exactly a sequel to The Bookshop on the Corner, we do get to catch up with some of our old friends from that book. However, this is Zoe's story. The plot is focused onher adventures in Scotland as a single mom (mum) who takes on two jobs--- working as nanny seven for a troubled family and subbing in for Nina in the book van.

My favorite thing about this book is the blatant love of books that just permeates throughout the story. It is clear that Colgan genuinely loves reading and books. Her bookshop books speak to my soul as a bibliophile. There's just something so heartwarming and lovely about that.

I loved this book. Loved! I read Book Shop on the Corner on a whim and have been making my way through Colgan’s works ever since. If you are book lover and a romance lover I am fairly certain you will love this one too. I feel like the books are a character themselves. And she has this magical way of adding these wonderful details that you didn’t even know you wanted to know. But as it turns out these details are so intensely gratifying to know it feels almost magical.

Jenny Colgan's books are like a breath of fresh air. Her latest novel, The Bookshop on the Shore does not disappoint. It provides readers with a cast of fun characters, good story plot and a wonderful journey to Scotland. I definitely see a sequel for this one on the horizon!

Jenny Colgan takes you back to the book bus and Nina but you meet a new character Zoe. She writes so well that you dont even miss Nina she just plays a roll in the new story line. I devour her books everytime I get my hands on one and I was not disappointed by this one.

Broke in London, Zoe and her son Hari escape to a tiny Scottish town where she becomes Nanny number 7 to children determined to be rid of her as soon as possible. But stay she does working as a nanny and in a bookshop, trying to give her son the best life she can. While the story may have been a bit predictable, it was a quick and enjoyable read.
