I'm glad I read 'Blue Skies' not too long before 'Stormy Seas' because I hear there was quite a span in years between the books.
'Stormy Seas' wrapped up all the dangling questions from 'Blue Skies', and I thought the two covers complemented each other nicely as well. It was satisfying to see Berkley, Aidan and the others ferret out the truth behind the chaos. A special treat was Wiley aka Black Dragon from 'The Dragon Tree Legacy' showing up to help out. (She is just as badass as Aidan and Berkley, maybe more!) I could see RL equivalents in some of the author's political figures, but I confess, I was kind of looking for them. The pacing was great, the obstacles kept ramping up the tension and by the last third of the book, I was reading while walking, helping put supper together and really got irritated when I had to put it down.

The only trouble I had with this one was the sheer number of characters! I forgot who was who and who worked for what branch of the Governmental alphabet soup, but I just soldiered on. (pun not intended)

All in all, I thought 'Stormy Seas' was a satisfying end to Berkley and Aidan's adventures, and I'm glad I read it!

Another great read from a great author. I have been looking forward to reading this one and was not disappointed.

It was great to catch up with this pair again. I loved them in Book 1 of the series (Blue Skies) and I love them even more in this one.Two strong women with great supporting characters. Great story line and plenty of action to keep you guessing what will happen next. Pace was also just right. Berkley (Cletus) is my sweetheart. I have a soft spot for her. The story line was a little predictable at times but it didn't take any enjoyment away from my reading experience. I could read this book and book one in the series over and over again.

Highly recommended.

I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.

So, I have long accepted that books books by Ali Vali are the textual equivalent of a Michael Bay film, light reading, bit of fun, leave your brain at the door etc. However, this latest offering takes a rather disturbing turn and promotes torture, or "enhanced interrogation" as a form of patriotism. There are pretty graphic descriptions of people being tortured and subjected to awful conditions in Guantanamo Bay to 'break' them. ""On him, you might want to take the testicle-roasting equipment out of mothballs." " Tempting, but it's amazing what sleep manipulation does for your conversation skills."" Honestly but for the fact that I got an ARC and therefore feel that I need to finish and review the book, I would have stopped after a few chapters.

In addition to the extensive, lurid descriptions of violence to unarmed prisoners, there's bombing of mainland America, pilots somehow becoming infantry/SEALS and bending of the space-time continuum. The narrative is awful, it's just one high octane incident after another interspersed with badly written and utterly predictable sex scenes.

I have deleted this from my kindle and would not suggest you waste money on it.

Commander Berkley Levine and Captain Aidan Sullivan are in the Navy. I didn't read the first book with these characters Blue Skies but I like that the author gave us readers a glimpse of how they met.

Berkley and Aidan are task in finding out traitors who wants to overthrown the government since they succeed before and this doesn't go well for ex vice president Chandler who so enrage that he set off chains of events with deadly consequence. With the help with friends and family will Berkley and Aidan stop him before something more happens.

I like the main characters they play well off each other and chemistry between them just sizzle.

Action-packed intrigue romance.

Berkley knew her life with Aiden would never be boring. Back with their family, celebrating a momentous event when the unthinkable happens and they must once again put their personal wants second to their countries needs.

I haven’t read many books with female protagonists. This series really stands out in that category though. Action, intrigue, traitors, and above all the love of family fuel this book.

I don’t want to give any plot points away so this review is deliberately vague. I will say there are so many characters that I was confused occasionally. Guessing some of the bad guys but not all kept me glued to the page.

This book is the second in the series. Blue Skies should be read first because this book circles around to it and I think the reader could be lost without it.

Stormy Seas by Ali Vali is one of those books that I’ve been waiting months to get my hands and eyes on. I need to confess that I am a huge fan of Ms. Vali’s writing. Taking that confession into account, I greatly enjoyed this book.
This action–adventure novel continues the story that began in Blue Skies, the first book in this series. Commander Berkley (Cletus) Levine and Captain Aidan Sullivan are still in the Navy, as they had promised the president in the last book that they would help him root out the traitors attempting to overthrow the government. This is not easy to do since the leader of the rogue militia is the ex-vice president who has managed to infiltrate his followers into positions in the government and armed forces. Things become more and more deadly for our main characters even with the help of their family, friends and fellow soldiers.
Stormy Seas is an action packed thriller that Ms. Vali should be proud of. This book has the same feel to it as some of Ms. Vali’s best action stories, such as books in the Devil and the Calling the Dead series. This includes the unexpected twists and turns of the plot as well as the steamy romance that you always find in her stories. You even get to revisit some old friends from a few of her other novels. I love when an author does that, it’s like visiting old friends as you read.
This is one book that adventure lovers must read. However, Stormy Seas is not a standalone novel, so I also urge you to read both books in this series in order. That way you won’t miss a single moment of the thrills and get a better understanding of what is happening and why. Both books are exceptional and well worth your reading time.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for an honest review.

Politics, action, intrigue, high drama with lots of loving between the two MCs. A typical Ali Vali book which is typically very, very readable.

Commander Berkley Levine and Captain Aidan Sullivan of the US Navy have pissed off misgynistic bigots by their success and their high places in the pecking order of the Navy. They become the last straw to tip ex-Vice President of the country, Dick Chandler (taking swipes with the very name itself, there) into going beserk enough to launch an all out offensive against USA. While Chandler sets off a series of terrible events, Aidan and Berkley have been assigned a mission to find and stop him.

The book is high octane action, but had way, way, way too many characters. So many that we lost track and just glossed over who is who trusting that anyone important will stick. Vali does edge-of-the-seat action well, but her real gift is in writing loving relationships. The dynamic between her MCs is loving, committed and the chemistry simmers and bubbles. We totally love that.

This is recommended for its fast paced action and even more for the lovely relationship.

PS: We are expecting another spin-off from this series starring the arch-villain’s equally villainous daughter Rachel as the lead after having had a change of heart and personality.

I was excited to see this book come out. The first book was great and I've been waiting for the sequel. Ali Vali is one of those authors who doesn't disappoint. Great action and intrigue. Loved the characters, the story and the Navy. You can either read this as a stand alone or a sequel. It's just that good.

I read the previous book of this series, Blue Skies, when it was published in 2006, at that time I was not aware of the existence of GR and like many of my old readings, it is not on my list of books read nor did I do a review of it. But I have a pleasant memory of the story that is explained in it and I also remember that when I finished it I thought that I would very much like to read its sequel. The author has made us wait more than ten years to have it but I think it's really worth it.

The two chapters tell the story of Aidan and Berkley, two officers of the US Navy, who have a history in common since their time in the officers' academy and for various reasons, mainly their desire to prioritize their careers over everything else , they put aside their promising relationship.

Without going into much detail of the plot, the two books have a thread of action and suspense, in which the intrepid Berkly has a more relevant role, while Aidan occupies a second plane, less active in the adventure but equally important in the set of history. Somehow these two characters may have some resemblance to Dar and Kerry from the Melissa Good series, and even to Cameron and Blair from the Radclyffe Honor series, mixing politics with military and security forces.

So I will use this review to assess the two books in this series, which in summary, both individually and jointly, are highly recommended reading.
