Well as always a great, sweet, sexy historical romance from an amazing author! The sweetness and flow of the story was great, there wasn’t much suspense or intrigue but this moved along smoothly.

Project Duchess by Sabrina Jeffries
⭐️⭐️⭐️
The beginning of this title was great and I liked the meet cute but instalust soon reared it’s ugly head. I liked the hero and heroine and their backstories but I just find the whole they met two days ago but are super attracted to each other thing annoying. I felt like a lot of this was just setting up for the next books to come, which I will read because I love Sabrina Jeffries’ titles.
*I received an eARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Sabrina Jeffries is one of my favorite authors so I was eagerly anticipating this new series.
Fletcher Pryde, the Duke of Greycourt, is called to the country after his stepfather dies quite suddenly. Grey has a tense relationship with his mother (I won’t spoil the reason...you have to read the book) but he loves her and his siblings deeply. While visiting Lincolnshire he meets Beatrice Wolfe, cousin of his younger brother Sheridan. It sounds confusing because it is...(Grey’s mother has been married multiple times and bore three dukes). Grey is pleasantly surprised to meet the outspoken Beatrice and the story begins of their relationship.
I enjoyed this romance. Grey and Beatrice both have issues and secrets but they spend a lot of time getting to know one another. Their romance develops quite quickly but it is filled with passion and mutual respect. They have some hiccups to their HEA but they eventually get there.
The book was well written. Ms. Jeffries uses a lot of dialogue which helps the story move along. I did find it a slow start and I did pick it up and down frequently, not reading it straight through. There were areas (scenes and dialogue)that seemed to be repetitive especially regarding the murder mystery, but overall it was a great read. The secondary characters are quite interesting leading to interest in their upcoming stories. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
4 stars

This was a lovely, quick read. I can always count on Ms. Jeffries to deliver a good, sweet historical romance.
I had some difficulty getting into it the first 3 chapters or so but later the story picked up and I got engrossed. It kept me engaged and wanting to read it until the very end. I loved the plot and the back story of the five siblings with different fathers and their mother and the mystery with the murder (although I'm a little mad it didn't get resolved -yet). Grey is interesting and very smart and Beatrice is strong and stubborn, she was a delight! She is strong and spirited, and holds her own with Grey quite well. They make a good pair. The chemistry and repartee between them was excellent. I loved the richness of the characters and the story line. The ending made me happy even if it was a little sappy (but not too sappy).
Silly title aside, if you ever need a book that'll satisfy your need of happy ending then this is it. Oh and also, look at that gorgeous cover, it's impossible to resist it.

I loved this story! I had a great time watching Grey and Beatrice fighting their attraction. It was refreshing to see two characters who sort of acknowledged their mutual attraction, even while fighting against succumbing to it. They both try to keep their distance (for a million reasons) and that is what makes the story so enjoyable! So glad I got to read this one.

Fletcher “Grey” Pryde, 5th Duke of Greycourt, is devastated when he hears of his stepfather's death. He immediately heads to his half brother's estate to be with his siblings and his mother. Although there for a somber occasion, Grey cannot help but be intrigued by a woman he soon discovers is a cousin of his half brother's.
Beatrice Wolfe wants nothing to do with a rake like Grey, but she has no choice when his mother enlists his help in preparing Beatrice for society. Beatrice avoids Grey in the beginning, but soon a friendship sparks along with other complicated emotions. Beatrice must keep some distance between them if she wants to keep certain secrets buried. What will Grey think of her when he learns about her past?
PROJECT DUCHESS is the first in a compelling new series titled DUKE DYNASTY. I give it a 3.5 star rating. Having been written by author Sabrina Jeffries moved it up to the top of my TBR pile since Ms. Jeffries is a favorite of mine. PROJECT DUCHESS is a story about a family who have lost loved ones left and right under questionable circumstances. Thus begins the challenge of uncovering the mystery of Grey's stepfather's death and the death of Beatrice's uncle, for it is almost certain the two are related. You couldn't have asked for a worse guy than Beatrice's uncle. What she had to endure at his hands for years was abominable. Who could blame anyone for killing a man like him? Although, Grey and Beatrice get their much deserved HEA, the reader is still left with many puzzling questions. I can only hope they will be answered in the next book.

I quite enjoyed this romance with a bit of mystery. This story focuses on Beatrice, a strong minded woman who cares little for what is expected by societal standards and Fletcher, the Duke of Greycourt, a reserved gentleman who guards his heart because of childhood experiences. Told in dual POV, I loved how these two characters cautiously courted each other despite their reservations on romantic liaisons. Their vow to tell the truth to each other was refreshing. And despite misunderstandings, there were no grudges held. The mystery element had me hooked but unfortunately this is not resolved in this story. So even though this couple gets their HFN, this book does end with a cliffhanger.

Fletcher “Grey” Pryde, Duke of Greycourt, is the son of Lydia Fletcher and her first ducal husband. When news of his step-father’s death reaches him, he drops everything to help his family with the funeral. However, Grey finds his half-brother’s cousin handling the arrangements. The outspoken chit dares to call him out over his arrogant behavior. Grey soon finds himself fascinated with the intriguing woman, so he offers to help Beatrice Wolfe prepare for her upcoming debut. Can Grey let go of his past for a future with Beatrice? Or will other circumstances stand in their way?
Beatrice “Bea” Wolfe is the orphaned and impoverished cousin of the fourth Duke of Armitage. She helps her relatives by overseeing her late uncle’s funeral and managing the household ledgers. Beatrice accepts becoming the dowager’s latest project in hopes of finding a suitable husband. She cannot help but feel leery of taking coming-out lessons from the lofty Duke of Greycourt. However, their time together allows her to see the man hidden behind the arrogant façade. Can Beatrice help Grey reconcile with his family? Or will their guarded secrets keep them apart?
Grey is a gem. I understand his caution of reacquainting with his mother and half-siblings, especially after years of his uncle’s callousness. His cool aloofness is a self-preservation mechanism to protect his heart from further pain. I adore how Grey encourages Beatrice to be her usual forthright self around him. He likes that she does not kowtow to his every whim; instead, she treats him like an ordinary person instead of wealthy duke. What I love the most about Grey is how he acknowledges that he and Beatrice have a lot in common. He finds a kindred spirit, one who can understand all the anguish and torment he went through as a kid.
Beatrice is a remarkable heroine. She has endured so many ups and downs throughout her life. I like how Beatrice never allowed her late uncle’s licentious behavior to color her opinions of people. She does not escape unscathed; however, she uses his ill treatment to bolster her inner strength to persevere. I adore Beatrice’s spunk and temerity. She is not afraid to stand up to a duke or take him to task about his snobbery. What I love the most about Beatrice is her sibling loyalty. She wants to improve her life so she can offer her prickly brother a better future.
PROJECT DUCHESS is book one in Sabrina Jeffries’ brand new historical romance series, DUKE DYNASTY. I have been reading this author since my late teens, so I always anticipate any new book she releases. This one is no exception. I love how the title is cleverly based off a reality TV show. It is a genius way to set the book apart from the other stories set in the historical romance genre.
PROJECT DUCHESS is a sweet and uplifting tale of family reconciliation and expunging one’s painful past for love. I suspect two possible pairings for upcoming books. I cannot wait to see if my suspicions prove correct.

More of a 3.5. I enjoyed this - the Duke of Greycourt hasn't been close to his family since he was sent away at age ten to live with his aunt and uncle and learn how to be a Duke. But now they're all together, to attend the funeral of his stepfather, Maurice. Grey's mother does best with a project, so Grey agrees to help out with her "come-out lessons" for Beatrice, his half-brother's cousin, but he doesn't expect to actually like her.
I liked the characters and the romance, but I am annoyed that the central mystery about whether Maurice was murdered/how and why wasn't resolved.

Jeffries has crafted a fun, steamy romance set amongst a raucous aristocratic family. She blended mystery and romance into a fun, satisfying read. I look forward to more books about the rest of the Dukes in the series.

We’re introduced in this novel to the three half-brothers whose mother had married three separate dukes. Sure, that happened. Anyway, all her children are gathered together after her final husband died in suspicious circumstances. Her oldest son, the Duke of Greycourt, comes to help out his mother and finds himself falling for Beatrice, a niece-by-marriage of his mother’s third marriage. She’s frank and innocent of the rules of society. And her brother, an injured soldier, seems to be the prime suspect in the suspicious death of the third husband.
Everything seems to happen rather fast - the romance and the mystery (which doesn’t get resolved in this book and will be held over for probably the novels to come about the other half-brothers and half-sister.) So this novel serves as a set up for the romances in the series to come.
I liked Beatrice who was not a simpering or shy woman. She says what she thinks and that’s refreshing...to the reader and the Duke.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

This is Bea and Grey’s story. Grey is a Duke who has hidden himself behind a cool veneer. Bea is a poor relation to Grey’s brother. Grey’’s brother thinks that Bea’s brother killed his father. He asks Grey to investigate. There are many twists and turns. The story was very fast moving. I couldn’t put the book down. I’m eagerly awaiting the next story in the series.

I loved that Beatrice was feisty, opinionated and not out looking for a man to “save” her. There are many different characters in the book, but once you’re introduced to everyone, this is an easy and fun read. There is a good amount of tension and banter between Grey and Beatrice and they both must decide whether to trust in their growing attraction for one another. A solid story with a bit of mystery for any readers who love historical romances. I can't say I loved it though. It was a bit boring in parts and the dialogue was a too stilted and strange for me. I didn't have enough investment in the characters.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book!

Sabrina Jeffries writes romantic, sweet and easy to read stories . And Project Duchess is the perfect example.
I liked reading this Historical Romance. It's the perfect Summer read.
I requested a early copy of Project Duchess by Sabrina Jeffries and I am giving my unbiased and voluntary review. #ProjectDuchess #NetGalley

I love Sabrina Jeffries but this was not my favorite book by her. At 20% in I was kinda bored. Not really sure why. Maybe it was me and I just wasn't in the mood but I just kept waiting for more and not really getting it. Some good parts but lots of set up for the next books with characters I just couldn't get in to at all. The parts with all the family together I think were supposed to be fun and witty and they just weren't. Even when the H and h first meet I thought their conversation was boring but the H kept referencing it and how it drew him to her. I even went back and reread their first meeting again, Still nothing. I will absolutely read more books by this author as I have loved her past books!!! I would recommend to others who enjoy her books. Im going to give it some time and try this one again since there are so many great reviews. I received an ARC of this book for my honest opinion.

Project Duchess is a fun romp in a series filled with interesting characters. This one proceeds in a typical Regency romance fashion, made fresh by characters that are more three dimensional than most. Recommend.
I provided an honest review in exchange for a free advance reader's copy.

I love Sabrina Jeffries' books and this is no exception.
There is romance, a big family bond, and a murder mystery to be solved. The mystery will be solved over the course of this series and that is just another reason for the reader to watch out for more from this series.
I loved this book for it sets up the foundation for all the characters, and goes about introducing the family dynamics.
Definitely looking forward to this series.

Beatrice is the granddaughter of a duke. Grey is a duke. Their families are meshed. Grey comes home for his stepfathers funeral where he meets Beatrice. She is an outspoken young woman who intrigues Grey. They are thrown together while she is learning to dance for her debut. There are secrets and hidden, hurtful pasts but somehow they find their HEA.

The first book in Sabrina's new Series is full of great characters, an ongoing mystery and a lovely story. I enjoyed this story because I have been reading Sabrina's books since her first Historical Romance Novel written as Deborah Martin "Moonlight Enchantment" in 1992. This story had me laughing in the first chapter. Her writing is lyrical with lots of action, witty dialogue, steamy love scenes and a satisfying end to this story with an intriguing teaser for the next book in the series.

Absolutely loved this!!! Huge thank you to the publishers and Netgalley for sending this book my way! This was my first Sabrina Jeffries book and it definitely won’t be my last! I’m very excited to go through her backlist but I’m even more eager for the next book in this enchanting new series.
So the premise of this one follows a mother who has been widowed three times and all different children and relations. It’s a huge family and everyone’s connected so the family tree in the beginning definitely helped. I had to double check that our hero and heroine weren’t related which was weird but once it’s set up and we get introduced to everyone, the story really gets going. Grey is called back to his family estate due to his stepfathers death and Beatrice is planning the funeral but she’s also related to his half brother which is why her and her brother live on property. As soon as these two meet, they have an instant connection and the banter is so much fun. I love that they have this honesty pack with each other, no matter what. It was so refreshing and I loved how Beatrice never held back anything she had to say.
Beatrice was so easy to follow and relate too. I loved how strong she was, especially what she had gone through with her awful uncle. I really loved how consent played a huge part because of that and the way Grey handled it was so wonderful. I loved Grey so much and HE SAID ALL THE RIGHT THINGS ALL HE TIME OH MY GOD! He had me swooning during some of his speeches to Beatrice. They were so sweet! Although, he did make me want to shake him a little bit towards the middle/endish and it almost felt a bit repetitive but I really liked how he trusted Beatrice and how they related to each other in a way because of their individual pasts.
I loved how they hardly had any drama with eachother and when they did, it didn’t last long at all. It was so refreshing to read and I loved how Sabrina Jeffries didn’t just throw in angst, just to have angst. These two just connected and fell in love. It was beautiful to see them learn how to understand their feelings, especially Grey. I liked his relationships with his family including his mother. It did feel like it was a tad rushed but this novel is pretty short and I actually liked that it wasn’t dragged out because it didn’t need to be. It was just perfect.
I loved how the plot revolves around a murder and I wish we knew the answers but that’s carrying over to the next book and IM SO EXCITED FOR IT!! I’m dying for Joshua and Gwynn’s book!!! Ahhhhhh I love them and ship them already! I loved all the side characters and I’m very excited to see them all live happily ever after! Can’t wait to read more from Sabrina Jeffries!
