This was a fast-paced story, with the romance woven right into the action. Tension stayed high with quite a few twists along the way. Ties to the past, and a need to step into the future were clear as well.

A WONDERFUL NEW RELEASE FROM BESTSELLING AUTHOR LISA HARRIS! WITH A THREATENING POTENTIAL BIOWEAPON IN THE BALANCE, TWO UNLIKELY CHARACTERS TEAM UP TO FACE THEIR FEARS, CONFRONT EVIL AND UNCOVER THE TRUTH.

I was delighted to dive into my e-copy of Lisa Harris’s newest release, Deadly Intentions. Harris is an excellent suspense writer and I’ve enjoyed many of her books in the past.
This novel opens with quick moving action amidst a heartbreaking scene. Readers are introduced to detective Josh Solomon and research scientist Caitlyn Lindsey as their lives take unexpected turns and connect them in a way they never imagined. The two characters work through dealing with their own fears, doubts and real life struggles as the plot thickens and moves along, holding interest. In the lull of action, Josh and Caitlyn find themselves connecting and getting to know each other on a a more personal level.

Both characters are well developed and likable. Their budding romance is sweet, light and believable. I enjoyed reading about the potential bioweapon and felt Harris did an excellent job of making that aspect interesting and easy to understand. As a result, readers grasp onto the storyline of Deadly Intentions and are pulled along with the two characters as they work to uncover the truth.

Harris doesn’t shy away from topics such as murder, domestic abuse, or marital affairs. Instead, she touches on them, using them as an avenue to explore how our faith impacts those realities of life and the redemption that can be found through Christ.

Harris focused more on her plot unfolding than a romance so if you’re looking for a heavy romance with a thrilling plot, this isn’t that type of book. It’s a little more cozy, but at the same time has an edgy tone, which is the magical way Harris writes.

Deadly Intentions was a solid four stars for me.

It was an excellent book. Interesting, exciting, great characters, a sweet new romance and a plot that moved along well. There wasn’t anything in particular that tipped it over into the five stars for me. It was just really good. I highly recommend this book to older teen and adult readers who enjoy romantic suspense and are fans of authors such as Irene Hannon, Dani Pettrey and Nancy Mehl.

Thank you to Revell Publishing and Netgally for copies of this book.

Caitlyn Lindsey and Josh's story hooks you from the very beginning. I'm not always a fan of Tech/Medical/BioTerrorism subjects but i think Lisa Harris did a phenomenal job with this one. There wasn't a ton of technical details which personally I think made this story better.

This book grips your mind and your heart the minute you begin the book. There are many parts of this story that come together in the end and you take a wild ride with Caitlyn and Josh. Both were such strong characters, but I loved how Josh overcame so much on his journey and he did it together with Caitlyn.

Lisa Harris hit a homerun in my book with this one. Definitley pick it up!

This is another fast paced, action packed suspense novel from Lisa Harris. I've read and enjoyed all (or almost all) of her earlier books, and this one was no exception!

I had lots of questions as I read. I loved mysteries, and always try to solve the crime/figure out 'whodunit' before the end. This one had me baffled.

I found Caitlyn to be an awesome heroine. Brave, pulling off risky things at times...which is one of the reasons I like to read suspense (rather than actually being in the middle of it myself), it gives opportunity to experience the thrills of catching criminals without any of the dangers that come with the job.

Because this is a romantic suspense, it quickly becomes obvious that the romance will happen between Caitlyn and Josh, her former colleague's (the one who got killed during a burglary) husband. The romance felt a bit too speedy to me, and just a little unrealistic.

Other than that, I completely enjoyed this book, and would highly recommend it.

The suspense is top notch, the action incredible, the danger...well, yes it's dangerous! It kept me turning pages until I reached the end!

Lisa Harris has been a favorite author of mine for some time, so I had high expectations. This book did not disappoint. Lisa has created yet another superior romantic suspense!! From beginning to end, my heart was throbbing as I sat on the edge of my seat.

The characters are so realistically described that the reader quickly becomes immersed in their lives, understanding and feeling ever challenge, fear, worry.

The plot moves at a quick pace, filled with unexpected twists and turns. I could not put this book down. I just had to know what happened next. This is an excellent tale of murder, conspiracy , threat and greed, so be ready for a rocky ride. The reader is drawn deeper and deeper into this book.

Deadly Intentions offers us reminders of many important facts of life. God gives us power to withstand the evil all around us. The truth will overcome all and always sets us free. The underlying theme throughout this book reminds us that God is always with us and will protect us from our enemies.

This standalone book is a winner in the suspense category!! Well done, Lisa Harris!!

This book was received from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing. The thoughts and opinions expressed are honest and my own.

This book is pretty much a non-stop action ride full of twists, turns and surprises. It's an quick and easy read as I read it in less than a day. I enjoyed the characters of Caitlyn and Josh. They were easy to like and their banter gave a bit of levity to the mystery they are trying desperately to unravel. The book flowed well and quickly and was mostly easy to follow(I had a bit of trouble with the sciency parts but I understood enough to get the basic idea). I didn't like a couple of the plot twists which docked my rating a bit, but it's a good solid suspense read and I look forward to more from Lisa in the future.

I received this book from RevellReads and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

This is a book that is so full of twists and turns and romance and suspense. It’s kind of spooky to think that there could be researchers out there that are coming up with viruses that could be so deadly and that people that want to use them on others. There were many sad parts to this story that made me cry. Love the characters. I received a copy of this book from Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Great Christian-fiction story with both romance and suspense- my favorite genres!
Caitlyn Lindsey works as a research scientist fears that the deaths of her friend and coworkers may not have been accidents. Now, after asking questions at her coworker's funeral, someone is after her! She makes the decision to contact Detective Josh Solomon, whose wife worked as a researcher until her death one year earlier. It was supposedly a home robbery gone bad. Now, Caitlyn doesn't think so. As much as Josh doesn't wish to relive that fateful night, he knows he must get to the bottom of this, and if the two men in prison for the death of his wife are innocent as they have always claimed, then the real murderer is still out there.
It soon becomes rather apparent that someone doesn't want Josh and Caitlyn digging into this. Who can they trust? Is someone in the police department dirty?
Deadly Intentions is fast paced and intense. I hated for it to end. The only negative for me was that Josh, who was still grieving the death of his wife only one year earlier, fell for Caitlyn rather quickly. That seemed a little hard to imagine, but the book was fantastic!
I was given a free ecopy to read by the publisher, Revell and Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Can they trust anyone around them?

I think I probably say this with every Lisa Harris book that I read, but, I will say it again. I think Deadly Intentions is my favorite one so far. I loved it! It was tense. It was riveting. It was gripping. It was action-packed romantic suspense at its best!

There are some books that are impossible to put down, Deadly Intentions was one of those. Seemingly ripped from today's headlines this story of danger and betrayal was as relevant as it was entertaining. Seriously, if you want to sleep tonight, don't read this chillingly plausible story right before bed....or at least leave your light on...

Lisa Harris is one of my all-time favorite romantic suspense authors and she just seems to get better and better with each new release. Deadly Intentions is a perfect example of that fact. If you love a story with equal amounts of danger, intrigue, and romance, with a faith perspective, I would highly recommend Lisa Harris's latest novel...

In her latest romantic suspense, Lisa Harris takes readers on a hang-on-tight and buckle-your-seatbelt read that will keep you guessing how deep the conspiracy goes.

Caitlyn is smart and she’s got questions someone doesn’t like her asking. With nowhere else to turn, she meets Detective Josh Solomon and tells him she believes someone other than the two men convicted murder his wife a year ago.

The action is intense and kept me wondering (more so than even the characters at points in the story) who Caitlyn and Josh could trust. The pacing is done well with dangerous situations popping up just after readers catch their breath from the latest discovery or close call.

I appreciated that Caitlyn and Josh already knew each other when they’re thrown together in a race for truth and fight for their lives. The romance may seem abrupt but I saw the slow build to the climax of that part of this romantic suspense.

Deadly Intentions is a quick read because, once you start, you’re not going to want to put the book down.

I am always excited to dive into a romantic suspense book and this one was a page turner for sure! I was instantly invested in the story after the opening scene! This book really dives in full force and does not really let up. There seemed to be danger and suspicions at every turn! It really had me guessing until the end! I thought that Caitlyn and Josh were both likable characters and they really made a good team as they searched for the the truth surrounding what they believe to be suspicious deaths. I had my suspicions about who was the villain and I was completely wrong! So wrong! I would say that this book was a bit heavy on the near death experiences and some of the characters actions and choices had me scratching my head a bit. Overall I found this to be entertaining and definitely full of surprises, so I think that romantic suspense junkies should definitely give it try!

After the deaths of three of her co-workers, Caitlyn Lindsey begins to think that something may be going on behind the scenes at her employer, MedTech Labs. After asking some questions and getting run off the road, Caitlyn takes a risk by reaching out to a detective by the name of Josh Solomon, who also happens to be the widow of one of the dead employees. It’s up to her to convince him that his wife was murdered by someone she worked with, while also trying to stay alive. In a search for the truth, she will have to break some rules. Will she be able to live with herself when it’s all over?

Lisa Harris has slowly crept into my list of “must read everything they write” authors. I knew I liked her writing, but this book really blew me away. I put it down this morning and am still reeling from all of the twists and turns. I’m feeling emotionally exhausted, but in a good way! This is exactly the kind of book hangover I hope to have from a good Christian suspense novel. You know deep down that everything is going to work out in the end, but Harris had a way of throwing in just one more twist that made you think “this is the book that won’t have a happy ending.” Her quick but profound way of developing the characters leaves you feeling like you’re rooting for old friends as they embark on a mission for their lives. Anything but predictable, this book will have you at the edge of your seat and turning pages as fast as you can.

I would definitely recommend this book to my friends who love suspense. The faith issues in this story are realistic and captivating but not preachy or pushy. There is often a delicate balance when characters are put into hard situations, and I felt like Harris managed the believability of faith and fear/turmoil very well.

I was given an early copy of this manuscript through NetGalley for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

My 1st book ever by this author!!
I think I will read some more books by this author in the near future.
Her writing style is wonderful!! She has added a little bit of everything to make it a page turner from when you open the book until the end!!
I've never liked suspense novels until I picked up one of Dana Mentiks, Lynette Eason and Jessica R Patch books.
I'm totally hooked especially if romance is involved with God fearing people!!
I'm glad to find I'm not the only one that shouts at the characters saying Look behind you! or get him/her get them!! Then u be like slapping your hand across your face when they don't right away but that is what makes a good story!!
This is a great clean read if you live Christian Romance and Suspense all wrapped into one!!
I strongly encourage my reader friends to read this awesome book!!
My thanks to Netgelley for providing a copy of this early read. No compensations were received. All opinions are my own.

This book is non-stop action! I loved every minute of it and the pages flew by.

I've always loved the books where the good guys prevail. I loved Josh from his first appearance in the book. There was just something about him. His dedication and loyalty were amazing. I also loved Caitlyn. She is my favorite type of female character. She was strong, brave, and decisive.

The suspense in this book was amazing. I never knew what was coming next and many aspects of the plot surprised me. I was impressed with the intellectual side of the investigation. But I also appreciated the scenes where my heart raced as bullets flew.

I loved the romance too, but am glad that it was it a small part of the story. The romantic in me needs that side storyline.

I received an advanced copy of this book through the publisher on NetGalley. This is my honest opinion.

Lisa Harris is becoming one of my favorite suspense authors! This story is unique and unpredictable, with the main characters running for their lives while investigating a bioterrorism plot. While Josh is in law enforcement, which is common in the suspense genre, the twist in this book is that he’s not investigating in an official capacity. Instead, he’s a fugitive, not sure who he can trust in his police department. Caitlyn is a strong character: smart, brave, and willing to risk her life to discover the truth and stop a terrorist attack. Although they might seem like an unlikely pair, their individual strengths and skills make them a great team.

This is an action-packed book that grabbed my attention from the first page! If you are a fan of Lynette Eason, Terri Blackstock, or Irene Hannon, I think you’ll enjoy Deadly Intentions.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you, Revell!

Research scientist Caitlyn Lindsey is convinced that someone is taking out her team one by one. First, a friend and research partner was killed in a home invasion. Three months ago, her boss died in a suspicious car accident. Four days ago, another partner supposedly committed suicide. And now Caitlyn herself has miraculously survived a hit-and-run. Afraid for her life with nowhere to turn, she reaches out to one of the victim's husbands, Detective Josh Solomon.

Though initially skeptical about Caitlyn's theory, Josh soon realizes that the attack that took his wife's life was anything but random. Now the two of them must discover the truth about who is after Caitlyn's team--and what their end game is--before it's too late.

This is a great mystery. I admit to staying up late several nights in a row to read this book. I would think I had it figured out. Then wham, I was wrong. The interaction between Caitlyn was good also. They knew each other through Josh's wife and had occasionally interacted socially. Josh's wife would try to set Caitlyn up on blind dates. So when Caitlyn came to Josh with her suspicions, he knew she wasn't a wacko. Also, he had questions himself about whether the right people were in jail.

I recommend this book for all who like a great mystery.

Once again, Lisa Harris delivers an "on-the-edge-of-your-seat" suspense novel. Caitlyn finds herself the survivor of a hit-and-run accident after discovering strange happenings at her job. As Caitlyn seeks to discover who wants her dead, she also delves into the murder of 3 former co-workers. Great suspense novel!

Josh Solomon had been devastated by his wife's murder and his inability to protect her. He finally felt as if he were nearing a point where he would be able to move past his grief and guilt; then in walked Olivia's coworker, Caitlyn Lindsay, with her theory that Olivia's murder was connected to her work at MedTECH Labs. They will need help in solving this mystery, but don't know who can be trusted as evidence mounts that someone in the police department is involved. Readers should be prepared for the unexpected as they follow Josh and Caitlyn's pursuit of the truth.

Lisa Harris's mysteries are always well thought out, contain well-placed red herrings, involve characters and emotions that engage readers, and have smoothly written dialogue. I recommend this book and author to mystery fans and am grateful to have received a copy from Revell Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. I was under no obligation to provide a positive review and received no monetary compensation.
