Brilliant, addictive, fun and emotional , what more can I say.
Jess rocks , another excellent book in the Scandal Sheet Series.
Lady No , otherwise know as Sophie , is such a strong woman, I loved her , she has built impenetrable walls round her heart , no man can get to her , she’s never going to fall for the men who constantly ask for her affection.
Rowan loved his father , and his relationship with him was wonderful, a man he respected .
After his death , his older brother the new Earl, cuts off his allowance and he has to fend for himself , maybe finding a rich wife is the answer. That’s easy to say till he finds himself in love with lots of explaining to do.
Love Jess’ books , so good .
Highly recommended!

Rowan Sinclair, third son of the late earl, has a problem. His older brother is now earl and has cut off his monetary support leaving him in a lurch. That's when he decides to pursue Lady Sophie for her large dowry. What starts out as a purely monetary interest soon turns into something so much more. Lady Sophie realizes most men approach her because of her large dowry, but she thought Rowan was different. When she finds out the truth, can she ever trust him again?

I enjoyed this novella although I do wish it were longer. Rowan was a good guy even though he started his attention to Sophie solely because her dowry could save him financially. Their attraction to each other was palpable, but with most shorter works, I would have liked more character development. The ending was a bit rushed, but overall I enjoyed the story.

I enjoyed this quick read. Rowen is a wonderful hero, forced to consider being dishonorable. Sophie is scarred from life with her terrible father. Circumstances cause them to face their demons and win their HEA.

I really enjoyed Rowan and Sophie's story! It was a quick, very enjoyable read. I liked that Sophie's aunt made her start to say yes, because we all need to be pushed out of our comfort zones a time or two. This opened her up to find her HEA, which I don't think could have happened before this. Rowan goes into this knowing that he is after Sophie for her money, but quickly comes to realize that he has been drawn to her for years. Can they survive the truth of Rowan's pursuit? You'll have to read to find out!!

After seeing what it did to her mother, heiress Lady Sophie is terrified of love and what she perceives as the loss of control, so she has said no to everything since her first season. But her beloved Aunt Louisa is afraid she'll wind up facing a lonely life of regret and challenges her to say yes to everything for one season. Sophie feels she can't refuse such a heartfelt request.

Still mourning the death of his beloved father, Rowan Sinclair has been stripped of his inheritance by his brother, now the earl, who happens to despise him. When his friend Lady Louisa reveals why Sophie is suddenly saying yes, Rowan knows he can use her situation to his benefit, even if it makes him feel awful.

The more time Rowan and Sophie spend together, the more real passion emerges, but it may not be enough for Sophie to overcome the fears that kept her so hesitant all these years. When she learns the truth behind Rowan's pursuit she may not be able to forgive the initial deception.

This was a really cute novella and I thought Rowan was adorable. Sophie was a very believable heroine with relatable fears without becoming annoying or frustrating me. This was a really great read and I found this series continues to be light and delightful.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Rowan and Sophie came as a wonderful surprise when I was least expecting it. A small bundle of joy … literally! As the rest of the novellas in this series, the story is based on a ‘scandal’ and before you know it, we have reached our HEA. Readers usually have an issue of character development with a novella wherein one feels the need for more content to really etch out a character completely.
Jess Michaels seems to have no problem in this series of novellas, as she plots the story and the characters in a few chapters, leaving readers with wanting more of the story and no necessarily more build up of her characters. Everything flows pat … our protagonists meet, fall in love and have their HEA, leaving one (or should I say me) completely satisfied. As I always say about novellas - they are a perfect short and sweet read for late nights!

No long drawn out misunderstandings, no pining for each other and no long winded reconciliations. And my favourite ‘feature‘ about these books is the way the protagonists always stand up to each other, even through problems, there is just not enough time (or should I say ‘pages’) to have a long sulking session about a mistruth or a misunderstanding. All sorted before it starts to get tedious, say what!

Could be because of my lack of patience or my habit of wanting to reach the end as soon as as start a book (just to know the story faster) but I for one and enjoying this series of novellas tremendously.
Can we have the next one please?

I got an ARC from the publisher to read and review.

This novella was a good read. Sophie is known by the ton as Lady No, for she says no anything involving gentlemen. She is independent and has her own opinions, but men want her for her money. She has no intention of settling for any man, due to her own parents' marriage. Rowan Sinclair is a third son and is in dire straights. He has been friend's with Sophie's aunt for years and his curiosity gets the better of him to why Sophie is now Lady Yes. He decides to use what he knows to his advantage, but did not foresee the feelings in would invoke in him. Rowan has his own secret passion, one society would never accept. Sophie is different from the ton, accepting Rowan's passion. When Sophie discovers the truth of Rowan's pursuit of her, she is angry, hurt, and betrayed. Rowan loves Sophie and he will due whatever is necessary to prove to Sophie that he loves her, not the money she has.

Cute novella. I liked Sophie and Rowan. I have a hard time with novellas, I find things to be rushed. This one wasn’t too bad. So my only real complaint is that I wish it had been longer. That would have aloud the MC’s more time to fall in love and for them to be more fleshed out and have more character growth. I feel this is a flaw with the format rather than the author.
