Told through a 1st person POV, the story follows Skylar immersing herself back into the MC life and finally getting a chance to reconnect with the only father she’s ever known and at the same time explore the chemistry between her and Saint.

Maybe it was the one sided storytelling that didn’t work for me or the very flat character that was Skylar but I never connected deeply with the story. The only time I was emotionally invested was the anger I felt towards Sky’s mom (who by the way basically gets away scot free!) and when we find out the truth about Sky’s father (which again was hugely downplayed in the book). Saint’s emotional range felt stunted and Sky’s love read more like infatuation than anything ever lasting. She desperately wanted to appear mature but was more childish than anything with her outbursts.

Would I recommend? Read at your own risk. Personally not my type of MC romance. The story never was able to convince me these guys were a real threat in the MC world and Skylar’s singular POV didn’t help. She was so focused on herself that the other characters were left in the muffled background included the hyped about Saint.

3.75 stars-- SAINT is the first instalment in Chantal Fernando’s contemporary, adult KNIGHTS OF FURY MC romance series. This is MC member Thorn ‘Saint’ Benson, and Skylar O’Connor’s story line.

Told from first person point of view (Skylar) SAINT follows several years in the life of Skylar O’Connor, from a ten year old girl who fell in love with an older boy, to a woman who struggles with her place in the family. At sixteen years of age, having never known her biological father Skylar;s mother pulled our heroine from the only man she ever called dad, a man who would sacrifice everything for Skylar’s life. At age twenty-one, tired of her mother’s secrets and lies, Skylar heads back to the place she calls home, including the man she has always loved. Enter MC member Thorn ‘Saint’ Benson. What ensues is the rekindling relationship and romance between Saint and Skylar, and the potential fall-out as Skylar becomes collateral damage in a war between MC clubs.

For more than ten years Skylar had dreamt about our story line hero, a man she would promise everything and more but Saint’s past is about to be revealed, a past Skylar struggles to accept in the face of even more lies.

The relationship between Skylar and Saint is a ‘second chance’ of sorts. At sixteen years of age, Skylar was ripped away from the people she loved but never stopped thinking about the day she would return. Leaving behind the only father she ever knew, and the boy that would one day be the man that she loved, Skylar left her life behind, and ventured towards her own happily ever after. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

SAINT introduces the Kings of Fury MC: President Xavier ‘Hammer’ Dixon, Vice President Temper, Renegade aka Renny, and Wade ‘Dee’ Simpson; Skylar’s best friend Max; her brothers Logan, Seth, Brooks, Axel and Smith, as well as their mother Georgia O’Connor.

SAINT is a story of betrayal, vengeance, second chances and love. The premise is engaging and captivating; the characters are sassy, colorful and energetic; the romance is steamy and hot. The level of angst is low; the MC lifestyle is mostly hidden from the reader-the usual dark and gritty violence remains behind the scenes or is only revealed a little at a time.

I have been on a MC romance kick as of late and Chantal Fernando is a go to author for me when I am looking for some dirty bikers to love on. Saint is the first book in her new Knights of Fury series, and it was an okay start. I liked it I just wasn’t in love with it like I really had hoped I would be. The premise behind the book was what drew me to wanting to read it but unfortunately, I just didn’t like Skylar’s character much at all. She was a pushover at times and honestly, I couldn’t connect with her at all. I liked Saint and that it was him that had me continuing to read the book. Now don’t get me wrong Saint was not a bad book, not at all, I just wish that at the end of the day I would have liked it more. Maybe the next book I will enjoy more.

Saint by Chantal Fernando
Knights of Fury #1

Fairly tame New Adult MC romance that begins a new series. Skylar and Saint had a connection when younger but as she was too young at the time nothing came of it. Later, when she returns to the area, the chemistry is still there and they act upon it. They have some ups and downs but they are not huge and easily solved. The main problem is Skylar’s very narcissistic and evil mother who creates havoc often and in sometimes deadly ways. There is a HEA for Skylar and Saint as this publisher promises for all of their titles.

Did I enjoy the book? Yes
Would I read more in the series? I think so

Thank you to NetGalley and Carina Press for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Ex-con and a friends to lovers collide in Saint, book 1 of Knights of Fury! I enjoy Fernando's books because they are steamy and quick which fits in perfectly with my summer reading desires! Also, if you are a fan of age gap romances, Saint is a great pick!

Skylar and Saint were super close once. Now, he's writing to her from prison. She used to spend tons of time with the MC until her mom took her away and her life changed. I enjoyed seeing the relationship build with the letters. It was a unique way to set up the background of these characters and progress forward in the present. Fernando does steamy well too, so the build up to that was delicious as well! Skylar was a great character-she isn't overly sassy or stubborn. She is simply doing what she has to do to get by in life. She can be sassy, but she isn't all the time. I get irritated with heroines who are nothing but sassy. Sometimes, I like a girl who is reserved or quiet or demure.

Of course, there is drama (its an MC so you know it can't all be smooth sailing), but I appreciated that the drama wasn't due to miscommunication between the H and h. Seriously, that is the most annoying trope ever and I'm so over it. Thankfully, Saint doesn't take that route. My biggest issue was a common theme for me in Fernando's books: some points seem rushed or glossed over. I enjoy short reads, but I don't want a book to be short at the expense of the plot. Saint is still a great story with lots of reasons to love it and the brevity of some of the plot points is minor.

Hmmm this is a tough one for me. I have read several MC series and have come to expect certain elements. Some of them are things I don’t like. So, I shall begin with the positive.
This book does not have the HUGE female drama in it. There are no women attempting to entice the hero since he’s in an MC. Once the h|H are together, The is no relationship drama. There are issues around communication and being open but no threats of cheating.
Both of the main characters are fine. Similar to lots of others I read and not really unique. The story was okay. Again nothing spectacular. Even the steam was pretty lack luster. Her mother felt like a photocopy of a selfish mom.
It is not a bad story but it is not something I’ll revisit. It’s quick and easy to read.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the first in a new MC series from Fernando, and she definitely has created a great set of bikers for us to watch as they find their happily ever afters. The Knights of Fury are a small, tight knit bunch and what happens to one, happens to all, so we get insight into just what makes this group tick.

Skylar tells us her story in the first voice in this book, and at times I found her constant inner chatter a little annoying – however, what it also did was set her age and experience at the fore of the story, and that was really relevant and important. She has not had a simple family life, with many older brothers and a very hard mother – wait until you find out just HOW hard!! As the layers of Sky's past are peeled away, one can only have sympathy for her.

Saint finally feels it is safe to get in touch with Sky, who he has never forgotten. They immediately reconnect, as if they were always meant to be together. The chemistry is intense, and as the barriers are no longer relevant, this is their time. And I have to say the transition from inappropriate age difference to absolutely fine is really well played out.

Inevitably there have to be issues to make their happily ever after have some serious bumps – and wow, certainly didn't see those bumps coming!

I really enjoyed this start of a new series, and will most definitely be following the rest of the MC as they get their chance to settle down and open up their emotional sides! Saint and Skylar set the bar high, but the hints we got would suggest there is plenty more goodness to come.

Sky grew up in the MC life as far as her father, Hammer, would allow a child to be involved. But it was the only life she knew. Saint was the guy she had a crush on, but she thought he didn't feel the same. There was a five-year age difference between them and she was only 16. So, Saint wasn't about to mess with her. The chemistry between Sky and Saint has the potential of being off the charts, right now it just sizzles.

When Hammer and Sky's mother split, her mother leaves and takes Sky with her, taking Sky away from the only father she has ever known. And telling Sky that Hammer doesn't want anything to do with her because if he did, then he would have called her.

When Sky gets a letter from Saint, she can't believe what she is reading, why after all these years is he reaching out to her? When Sky learns the truth, she doesn't confront her mother, she leaves the country and moves in with her brother Logan. Reuniting with Hammer and Saint, she learns so much more than she thought and the pain she feels is more than just betrayal.

Will Sky confront her mother about the reasons they left? Can she forgive Saint and Hammer for not reaching out to her sooner? What happens when secrets are revealed? Can Saint and Sky survive his secrets?

I really liked this story but sometimes Sky got on my nerves with her childish all-about-my-pain ways. Either accept what has happened and move on with these men or just move on. I would have liked a little more at the end but maybe there will be more of Saint and Sky in the next book. I can't wait to see what Chantal Fernando comes up with next.

Mary Jo – ☆☆☆
The story started out slow, showing us how the characters came to be related by blood or friendship. This is an MC romance, but we don't see a lot of interaction between the club members. Most of the time it seemed the book was written from Sky's point of view but occasionally we got to see Saint's thoughts.

I would think that given the impact Hammer has on Sky's life, we would know more about him, what he does, and how he kept track of her after her mother left with her.

The romance between Sky and Saint has chemistry but they don't seem to have much in common. Saint doesn't talk about his work – either legitimate or not – but focuses solely on Sky. Sky's character is sometimes focused and at others immature. She has no friends in town other than her brothers and the club members.

I understand Sky's need to connect with her mother and I'm glad when she realizes that she will never have the connection she wants with her.

I wish the characters of Saint and Sky were a little more developed. I think this has the potential to be a great series.

Nice start to the series. I felt like it started off really strong and then lost some its excitement during the middle and end. It was also quite a bit more sweet than I anticipated--not necessarily bad--I was just expecting a little more grit to it. Overall, it was a pretty good read and I'm interested enough to continue the series.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has pain, suspense, secrets, and heartache.

This Skyler and Saint's story. These two have a history. Why Saint in jail he decides to write Skyler. What comes out of that is a pen pal that he knows hes gonna see when he gets out. He surprises her when he gets released and is free. But is she ready for something more with him. Her life is crazy can he help her. Or she about speak lateral damage in his MCs war. Secrets are revealed will it keep them together or rip them apart.

Lots of twists and turns to keep you involved with the story.

I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

Well, well, well.....this is an absolute first. Actually, a couple of firsts. This is the first book I've read from this author and have to admit the first time even hearing of her. But this is also the first time my insomnia actually paid off, which makes this the first book I've read and completed in one sitting. It's THAT GOOD!!!!

Skylar is screwed. What an opening line huh? She's the youngest of five (maybe 6) and is the only girl. Yep. Screwed. Let's add in the fact that her mother is BY FAR the spitting images of "mommy dearest" and the level of being screwed just went up ten fold. But just for good measure, let's add in that she's had a massive crush on an older guy that should be hands off. Especially considering he's a member of her step-father's MC. Yep...life sucks.

Saint is anything but his club name. At least that's what we're supposed to think, right? Didn't fool me though. He's hot, caring, kind and is officially my new book boyfriend. But he does have a problem. In fact, he's got a few. He's not only older than the one girl he's had feelings for forever, but she's he's prez's daughter. And now? Now he's got a secret that could end them before they even start.

This book literally has EVERYTHING!!!!! I can't believe that this is only the beginning of this series, but sign me up for every. single. book!!! My heart is absolutely broken for Skylar and the life she was dealt. But Saint really is her Saint and Knight in shining armor. This!! I honestly just can't gush enough about this book. I want to mention so many things, but then it would ruin it for you. So just......pick this up!!! You won't be disappointed!

Kind of a second chance romance, with characters who have had struggles and continue to face difficult situations that could tear them apart or push them closer together. There is drama, love, laughter, and tragedy all rolled into this story.

I adore Chantal Fernando's Wind Dragons MC series, and was incredibly eager to discover she was writing a new series. I really enjoyed Saint the first title in the Knights of Fury MC series and found it to be an intriguing and suspenseful, MC drama fueled read with twists and turns aplenty

Skylar and Saint always shared a special connection. Despite their age gap he never treated her like a child, but also didn't encourage her teenage fantasies.

Skylar is sassy, sweet, and strong. She's a hard working, independent battler who's had to work for everything she has. Her heart is broken when the MC family she adores disappears from her life without a trace.

Saint is a badass, alpha biker, but he's also sexy, caring, sweet, supportive and loving.

The banter is witty and this title is enjoyable read, and I can't wait for the next instalment in the Knights of Fury MC series.

Just sat here trying to gather my shit together enough to write a semi understandable review.

So she brings us a new series with a load of yummy new guys in leather riding bikes?. Fuck yeshhhh. GIVE ME GIVE ME MORE, GIVE ME MORE, GIVE ME GIVE ME MORE.

Saint did not disappoint in all fronts.

Skylar lived the life of an mc princess for the better part of her younger life until it was all ripped away. Despite being taken from the only home she had.. she, despite all the odds managed to keep her shit in check and grow up right all by herself. As a character she had a lot of growth through this story starting as a ten year old girl who struggles to fit into the norm at school. Then finally as a 21 year old women who's strong, independent and oh so curious about her past life and the people her she couldn't forget.

Saint. All kinds of sinfully delicious, yes. Saintly? Not so much. However props where is due that man can speak his truth and make it sounds like the Stars and the moon. He never forgot Skylar and when life throw him a curve ball it just made him realise how important she was. Man logic is fucked up right?. I'm going to not tell you important things in fear of hurting you when the truth will eventually come out anyway and hurt you twice as much. Lol these men are something else. But!! He does for sure make up for his little mishaps. He's a man through and through. Strong, a little cocksure and arrogant but also all kinds of sweet and reassuring.

This book is a whole lot of yes for me. I believe there's two really hard things to write in a series. one of them being the highly anticipated character that's normally left till the end or near end because you have all kinds of expectations for said book/character. And of course the big one being the first book of the series. This is a tough one because this is where the foundation for this series is built. If it's not done right it leaves a bad taste for the rest of the series.

What I love so much about this author is she paves the way so right!. I feel like the plot progresses at a great pace firstly starting with a dig into the past giving us some of the history behind the characters and a nice little backstory before delving into the present. When that letter arrived I legit did the happy dance on my couch. They had history and I was so freaking excited to so where they went. You feel the connection between all the characters and whilst you get the family vibe from them I love that the author kept the integrity of the "MC". The balance of that raw and gritty life style with the sweetness of love and family is fine and the author danced that line perfectly. Suspenseful, action packed and captivating your getting a little of everything in this story. I was on edge waiting for what's to come. At points I was so angry I felt like throwing the kindle. Then there's those moments I ended up looking like a raccoon from my leaky eyes because I was caught off guard with the emosh moments.

I feel like Skylar and Saint's story has set the bar high in this series but I'm also so excited to see what happens when the bachelors of the Nights Of Fury find their matches.

so ... for now I'm done. I may pop back though to add something more or try to make sense of my rambles when my head isn't so muffled by all the cray.

I have read many of Chantal Fernando's books. I love her Wind Dragon and Wild Men biker books so I was really excited when I saw that she was beginning a new series the Knights of Fury MC. This being the first book there was a lot of foundation and character introductions. We were introduced to Skylar and Saint mainly in this book.

Skylar the only daughter and youngest of 7 (yep, 6 older brothers) has been raised in the MC life. Her mom being the old lady to Hammer a great man who treated Skylar like his own daughter. Saint is 5 years older than Skylar but there is a connection between the two as they grow up. However, at 15 Skylar's mom forces Skylar to leave and not look book. That is until Skylar receives a letter from Saint 5 years later.

The characters were good. Saint was a good character as was Skylar though I sort of felt like they just connected, but we didn't get to experience the connection. I am not sure if that makes sense. It wasn't instalove but it was. We know they have had a connection for years, but I didn't feel like I really experienced that connection. Also, I didn't feel like Skylar matured in the book, she felt the same throughout the book. I wished there had been more steam and connection in the book. Hammer was my favorite character in the book, I loved that old man. Skylar's mom, she's just crazy and I still don't think I understand how crazy she is. Skylar's brothers, I am not sure how they will play into this since this is a MC book. It will be interesting to see how the series goes.

Finally, this book was a little slow for me (again I was looking for more grit and steam) and some of the twists made me go "really, really"... HOWEVER over all, I did enjoy the book and I would read the next one. I admit, I even cried at one point.

I do recommend this.

Saint is not the first book I’ve read by Chantal Fernando nor is it even the first MC, but it is my least favorite. I've enjoyed everything I've read by this author until this one. Maybe this one just wasn't for me, but I really struggled to finish this one.

When I picked up this MC, I was expecting this angsty, drama-packed novel, maybe even a forbidden/taboo romance, and the wit I've come to enjoy from Fernando. What I got was not that at all. The author seemed to play it safe with the first book in this new series. And that sharp wit to lighten things up occasionally was missing.

Skylar was a clubhouse Princess. The man who raised her, Hammer, started the Knights of Fury from the ground up. Then we have Saint, a Prospect for the club. Skylar and Saint just had this connection, one that was not allowed given the age difference. Insert why I figured I’d get a forbidden/taboo romance.

On to the angst and drama I expected. I didn’t get that either. You can’t have bikers without sin, even if it's just a little. Instead, we get what should've been some major drama that is more glossed over than dealt with. And the reason for that drama, once we find out, had me rolling my eyes.

All in all this novel felt glazed at best when there could have been so much more. I don’t know if Fernando was playing it safe or got bored, but if you like MC romance with all the feels, this one missed the mark. That said, I will read other books by this author, but I think I'll be skipping this series given my experience with this first book.

Saint and Skylar were everything to each other during childhood. Skylar left with a mother nobody would want and Saint ended up in prison for a few years. She has been receiving letters from Saint in prison. One day he shows up on her doorstep and things start to get crazy. These two had chemistry that was slow burn but hotter than the sun. I really enjoy this authors books.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

OH MY STARS!!! This story! There were some amazing twists and turns in this book and I loved every moment of it! I have been a huge fan of Fernando's MC books and Saint does not disappoint. It was gritty and passionate but also had the right amount of twists in it. The things that Skylar went through was heartbreaking but she is such a fighter! I love that about her. Once she gets that backbone, she is a force! I think it was the first letter to Saint that gave it to her. And Saint... holy sizzle on a motorcycle! That man could give any of the past MC books a run for their money! For the first book in the series, I am dying for more and I cannot wait to see what we get!

I usually love MC books by Chantal, and this one sounded right up my ally. However it fell a little flat for me. I didn't connect with the heroin as much as I would have hope to, to me she read younger than what she was portrayed, Normally I'm okay with a prologue, but the first few chapters are in the past over the years of her (Sky) life and while I know it was meant to build background, it actually left me with more questions and still not able to connect with her. I did like Saint and how, to me, his feelings were always kinda clear. I did find that I stopped and started this one a few times as i felt it was a lot of 'inner talking' in the beginning. The ending was a little predictable, but still enjoyable.

It wasn't my fave but I would read it again.

Saint by Chantal Fernando is book One in the Knights of Fury Series. This is the story of Saint and Skylar.
Skylar is the Step-daughter of the President of the Knights of Fury but when she was around 16 her mother took her away. Skylar's mother doesn't seem to like anything and so they don't really get along. Then with Skylar is older she starts to want to go back to the only family she has every really known, the Knights of Fury. Of course Saint is a part of that need to return, especially when the letters start.
Really enjoyed their story and can't wait for more in this series!
